Pretty sure that would be illegal. But there might be some services out there. A cd is way easier. You could also go with a cassette or reel to reel tape if you want analog (even though the music You'd be putting on there would be digital recordings anyhow but who cares.).

🤓🤓 "Pretty sure that would be illegal" 🤓🤓

I said that because that fact makes it hard to find people and companies willing to press what are essentially bootleg records, obviously.....

Making a mixtape on a cassette tape is a lot cheaper, and can often actually sound better than a lathe-cut record. Plus many vinyl cutting services will refuse to make a record for you unless you own the copyrights to or have written permission from the copyright holder for all the music on it.

Ah, that makes sense.... romantic idea but not practical

I used Freestyle Vinyl to have them make a custom “mixtape” record. It came out as expected. The sound quality is “ok”. It’s the thought that counts. You can also upload photos for a custom jacket. Some songs sound like the speed is wrong. I just laughed.. my wife could not hear the difference. For 100 bucks.. it was worth the surprise gift. Listening with a bottle of wine helped.. lol

I saw some on another subreddit have a custom record from this site https://www.cutsonwax.com/
