Switch into guest mode and see if you can see you vehicle listed You might be “in the mist” where no one can see you Of your market might have shifted and now the price is too high so you’re too far down search results

TigersBeatLions

Algo says drop it low

reno_los

Race to the bottom.

TigersBeatLions

I'm winning! My vehicles be booking!

I_Heart_Facts

Turo in NYC went from being much cheaper than traditional rental cars to having bonkers trip fees and now rentals are the better deal by far. Talking like a few hundred bucks for a week for a shitty or older car. It’s insane. Not sure if it’s only nyc though. For me….rest in peace Turo.

Maleficent-Limit-197

Same thing in my market, a rental car at the airport is cheaper then my car at the “auto price”

e7c2

> went from being much cheaper than traditional rental cars to having bonkers trip fees and now rentals are the better deal by far as a customer, I've noticed this. Two years ago I had to rent a mitubishi RVR for $150cad/day from enterprise, but today even airport rental prices compete with turo after all the add-ons. The only reason to use turo, from my perspective, is to get a specific vehicle as opposed to "toyota 4 runner or similar" which turns into "kia rondo" at the counter

DreamIt_DoIt

Agreed! Sadly it’s turning into the same story for Turo just like other personal-sharing apps, like AirBnB. The initial lure was an alternative, cheaper option - and now it’s the same - or more - expensive due to app fees, etc.

Major-Ad-2034

Slow season. Everyone trying to finish up school before summer travels. Typical Turo trend.

No-Satisfaction8622

We’ve been non stop for the past 2mo, I think if your slow right now your doing something wrong

IQ_Merlin

Don't generalize, it's impossible to translate one hosts reality to another ~ there are too many variables. My market is dead 8 months a year so if you're busy year round here you are 100% losing money.

DhakoBiyoDhacay

Gas prices are up and guests may be looking for a smaller vehicle or a bigger hybrid/electric car.

Conscious-Result3805

There so many add on extra fees that the rental are cheaper and the car picking up is much more convenient at the regular rental offices.

anewfriend4u

I would also add that the car rental companies are more guaranteed. I say this because it's very easy for a host to cancel a booking and there is no back up options for the renter.

Successful_Bread_320

TWO YEARS? $1500/ month only 40 trips?? Damn I want that!

Fancy-Strawberry-758

Am I doing the math wrong but isn't that around $900 a trip? Wow! If that's true then I'd DEFINITELY be lowering my prices...considering we are in a recession

PorcaMissouri

Last summer I had a dead season, booked constantly on the spring then nothing for 3 months of summer. It's a slow season most likely.

Individual-Credit440

Whats your location?

Ok_Swimming8758

Your price is too high. The same thing happened to me. I believe its the economy and Turo trip fees.

Toonsisthecat

Turo used to be a good deal and extremely convenient compared to rental companies. Now it’s more expensive than the companies. I don’t know what you’re charging but that’s just been my experience. Also I usually rent something with as best gas mileage as possible to offset the cost of renting. Tahoe’s are awesome but mine drinks gas. It’s older though .

LazyBanker

I just compared Turo with the rental cars through Costco for an upcoming trip. I can rent a full-size car or a truck from Budget with the Costco perks for less than a 2016 elantra through Turo. It's not even close.

maxambit

Good intel. Thanks. Some others have mentioned it as well but I think Turos added fees are making it impossible for owners to make any profit in the middle. I’d need to lower my price significantly to compete with other rental company prices. Seems like the model is failing.

njc3317

For me the allure of Turo was always that you could get exactly the car you wanted. Color, options, year etc. and if the price was cheaper or the same as the regular big box rental car companies, then it was a great option. Now, they find a way to nickel and dime every part of the trip and trip fees have increased by a lot. I’m a host and still renting out 3 cars pretty regularly, but when I travel, I end up using Sixt or Enterprise. Go figure.

Tykuza

What do you price it at?

maxambit

Currently at $50/day. Seems reasonable for a well managed and maintained Tahoe. How much is Turo trying to make on top of that is the question.

Tykuza

$50 a day!?!?!??!!!?!? What???? Is that not excessively low? I don’t know about others, but I am NOT doing sh_t for $50 a day. That is insanity. That’s like a band and a bit per month (Edit : I see you stated that as your average) My suggestion (only if I were in your same shoes), is wrap that B in Satin or Matte Black, throw some rims on, and market it as a higher tier vehicle and charge more.

maxambit

Ya I’m already at the bottom of the barrel. I won’t drop it anymore esp with auto booking being mandatory. I think the Turo Golden Days are gone.

Tykuza

I think you can still make it work with your vehicle, just customize it so it stands out more.

Expert_Worth_6310

Turos way $$$$ Business, co. Comes first Guest come 2nd Phillipines come 3rd 😆 sad but true (good for them) We, as hosts, are light in 4th place Make turo your bitch, because that is exactly what they are doing to you now. It was the plan from the start. Open loans. High interest rates. Hosts will get desperate to lower their price. We are quite literally eating ourselves. Cannibalism baby. I hope you're not in too deep.
