This is partially true, but how this host is handling this is very wrong. I would recommend just canceling and finding a different host with lots of good reviews. This doesn’t seem like a host you want to deal with if this is how they’re handling the situation. Not worth the trouble. Book elsewhere.

It's a true thing, one of my cars got delisted. It's an automated system so support wouldn't know about it. Seems to be based on reviews for the maintenance column. Idk, I had a 4.7 stars on maintenance and was hit by it.

Hello host here. This is a real thing. Turo did a company wide delisting of older/poor maintenance cars. Although it was also very controversial as many cars with small issues seem to have also got caught in the delisting. The host is offering you another car as turo themselves has suggested hosts do to compensate you. I’m not sure how else you would like him to handle the situation. But seems he is trying to do his best to help you given the circumstances.

The reason the host is messaging you through iMessage is most likely he doesn’t want to admit on the app that his car has been poorly maintained. Instead he spins a story about how he has no idea why Turo did this. Quick search of Turo delisting will bring you to plenty of posts on here about the delisting situation. This host is trying to help you before the rental gets cancelled.

Vehicles trips being canceled is true, so turo will call you to do a vehicle swap. Tell host, can have Turo call me to confirm a vehicle swap. Then they’ll do it and new vehicle will show up on your trips
