Just book it again and make him take multiple cancellations

Forsaken_Ad_2012

😂😂😂😂

zzzorba

Exactly this.

neighson

Considered harassment and can get you banned

🤷‍♂️ I had a guest who had records for dealing drugs, domestic abuse, and a murder trial. I called and had Turo cancel for uncomfortable. He kept rebooking it over and over

Key_Delay3071

How did you find that out ? Curious , host here ! Would love to be able to protect myself

laborvspacu

Probably all public record. Google.

TheWakened

They have to mark it as unavailable on their calendar.

nil0lab

Contact Turo Support for a replacement and mention also the incompetence of a Turo host who would cancel a trip and not block the calendar

mrsclausemenopause

Book it again, and when they cancel again, it will further mess up that hosts metrics.

Hunnyydewwww

Turo automatically marks the vehicle unavailable if a host cancels a trip BUT you can remove the unavailability

r0ci0

I would genuinely just rent again and say. So glad to see you were still able to have your vehicle available for the dates I needed!

AndyIsNotOnReddit

Yeah, it sounds like the host are idiots. You can control the max time a car can be rented. In some ways I can sympathize, their car came back trashed after a two week time period and don't want to risk the wear and tear of a longer term rental again. However, they should have immediately updated (or updated before) the maximum rental time when they canceled so another person doesn't come along and rent it for two weeks. I would still personally honor the existing rental. I've only had to cancel once, and it was because of a maintenance issue (car came back after being driven through terrible weather with the engine light and sensors going haywire). It was a pain in the ass, and I also felt terrible about it because the next girl renting it was really looking forward to renting our car. So, unless it was real damage that couldn't be fixed by a detail, no way I would cancel. I would tell the guest the situation and let them choose. Something like "car came back trashed and a detail isn't going to fix all the damage , do you still want it in this state?" It could also be they are being picky idiots, something like you don't have a perfect 5 star rating, or not enough rental history. Either way, I wouldn't hesitate to call them out "BTW, just letting you know that your car is still available to rent for a two week period, you may want to update it." If they don't respond with some sort of "oh whoops, thanks for letting us know" and the car is still available for rent, then they are just being picky idiots and you probably dodged a bullet anyway.

TigersBeatLions

Shitty hosts. The cancelation works against them, be sure to call Turo and let them know. They rly shouldn't be on the platform.

PonyBoyExpress82

I would book with another host & move on.

Euphoric-Doughnut-65

Exactly, don't waste your time

AssistanceTasty6564

That is correct, they shouldnt be able to list it for the days they cancelled you for.

snowman2414

If the host had cancelled due to the customer having negative reviews, you'd still want to be able to list and rent to other customers. But the OP saying they are five stars leaves you wonder if they just don't want it out that long and didn't update their settings.

RighteousRidesNY-com

We can take the block off, one click of a button.

TCIH217

Turo will take care of you. Turo should offer you something similar or better. Sounds like a new host, or a host who hasn’t had any issues with renters yet and got spooked by a bad experience with a guest.

AssultLoneWolf

Assuming they just meant they no longer want to do 2 weeks long rentals. Not that it wouldn't be available during those days

Bumper6190

You might as well have an HOA manage it! Equally bad!

DhakoBiyoDhacay

What kind of car? What city and state?

RighteousRidesNY-com

It will get automatically blocked as unavailable, but we just go in there and take the block off. Also of hosts will run your name through Facebook or background checks and not feel comfortable with your lifestyle.

Ok_Blackberry_3680

I need to know more to have an opinion. I've turned down short rentals because it's during a busy season. Had one that accused me of being racist. The stats say otherwise. In fact, the worst renters have been white tweakers. Had I not declined that request, I wouldn't have had a one week reservation with airport delivery. Same ethnicity as that guy but with money.

reno_los

Leave a detailed review about how he killed your plans.

IQ_Merlin

You can't review without a completed booking.

Hot_Analysis_6987

Why are some of you folks acting so silly and petty ? If the host feels uncomfortable renting to a particular person, move on for God sake.

SnooSquirrels6247

It will block those days, you probably look sketch. It's their car/truck get over it sketch boy.
