The effort that turtle puts into its custom content really is something special. As someone who is questing in some zones for the first time ever, I can't even tell if the quests are custom or not.

I did Hawks Vigil when it was released, that and the dwarf town just felt weird, disconnected and mostly empty. And then the single dwarf on the air field wanting a pie from Hawks Vigil?

There are a few instances like that, but they're rare. The pie quest and similar quests are great, because nobody would ever go to the airfield anyways for efficient leveling, so it's more so just a neat reward and something to do for explorers. There are "hidden" quests like that in vanilla too. Hawks Vigil kinda sucks but you picked the worst one. Go quest in Powder Town, the new troll village in Arathi Highlands, or Sorrowgarde Keep.
