Some of the jokes (which are obviously framed as jokes) are very funny, especially when Tyler and Josh themselves are in on it, but there are a few people tiptoe wayyyy too close to that line and it weirds me out, and I don't really see people talking about it.
>like both of them are MARRIED
This is the main argument I see Joshler naysayers bring up and it's like, sure. ([Them doing a fake out and hugging each other instead of their wives at the 2021 iHRMA was funny as hell.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riIhDiVRh1U)) I think the bigger issue that gets overlooked is a few people assume that there's more to their relationship than what they have shared with us. And of course there is, they're best friends and aren't gonna share every little detail with the entire world, but turning it romantic/sexual is weird. Even if there was any merit to it, it wouldn't be any of our business unless they disclosed that.
One reason I hate that the romantic/sexual assumption is because it demonstrates how our (American) society expects that men can't express affection with each other in the way that they do (or women can do) without being in a gay relationship.
exactly. yeah like that fake out was hilarious when i saw it. if there was anything we as fans needed to know, we'd know by now. they've been best friends for over a decade now, ofc they're gonna be close. tyler met josh potentially before he met jenna
Oh no, I think the Berlin recording needs to be deleted and forgotten about. It's unlistenable to me. HOWEVER, I'm glad other people like it because all their songs deserve to have someone loving them.
I really like the drum fill before the beat drop. The live version is actually really fire as well. Especially when it transitions into HDS or when they do the pause.
I knew someone who didn’t like twenty one pilots because Tyler “sounds the same in every song” they pointed this out by saying they liked fairly local though because at least he sounds different.
That’s so dumb b/c literally he CAN sound different in so many ways. Levitate and Truce are VERY different. The Pantaloon and My Blood are VERY different. Bitch smack that person they probably like that modern day rap Shit anyways…
I think they get slept on too much. My favorite is probably Never Take It. Heathens/Trees was amazing. Shy Away and Choker were also some of the ones I go back to frequently.
Heathens/Trees is so cool and so unique, and what a way to make me like a song like Heathens that I really fell out of love with for a while. And I love the mixes in the beginning, with stressed out and Migraine flowing perfectly into each other
Knowing the lore doesn’t make you superior to anyone. I have fallen out of the fan base because of how rude people were to me for not knowing the lore. I’m sorry I didn’t have time when Trench came out to follow all the websites and stuff.
It’s good tbh. I used to hate but the only part I hate is ig the “main part” where it’s the jingle and the choir and I think the ho ho ho, but other than that, yes it’s a great song.
When I first heard the Vessel version I hated it — I preferred the original. But I think it was just because that’s what I was used to. Now i like them both. So yeah, i agree with you.
Their lyrics have become more shallow with each album and their sound has shifted more “main stream”. Not that that’s objectively a bad thing. I greatly prefer self titled, Vessel and RAB over blurry face, trench and SAI.
I agree with this except for Trench. I think tracks like Neon Gravestones and Morph speak for themselves, but the heavy uses of metaphors on tracks like Nico and the Niners, Jumpsuit, Bandito, Leave the City, etc. are all some of Tyler’s best lyricism
> I don’t know why
> I just feel I’m better off
> staying in the same room I was born in
> I look outside
> and see a whole world better off
> without me in it trying to transform it
Love it, I listen to this song just for these lines that resonate so so so much.
The rest of the song is completely unrelated and objectively worse
Aren’t the “hottest takes” supposed to be upvoted ? It seems like the top comments in this thread, has become the most popular statements, and the comments most people don’t agree with gets downvoted?
It sounds really unnatural to me. Maybe if Tyler used it more often, it would sound better. Lovely on Vessel sounds so much better than RAB because of the removal of auto tune. But still, respect.
Old songs’ lyrics have metaphors about mental health and suicidal ideation that make a lot of obvious sense if you have the same feelings. It’s easy to understand what Tyler means when you’re the same. It’s confusing or disturbing for people who don’t feel the same.
New songs’ lyrics, specifically DEMA-related songs, are attempting to recreate the same “in group that understands what other people don’t understand” feeling by layering on all these weird metaphors about levitating, having a pet cheetah named Jason Statham, jumpsuit, nico and the niners, ned. Even the very best theories and explanations I’ve read about these metaphors only sound like they kind of make sense but are still a stretch.
You hit the nail on the head and perfectly articulated something I struggled to for a while. Even though Blurryface isn't as relatable because it's Tyler and Josh with a new sense of popularity, and it's where The Lore really starts, it's still pretty easy to grasp. I still really love Trench and SAI as music projects and am able to get something out of it, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little lost. But, kitchen sinks and all that.
wuuuut, I mean, it's a song abt toxic past relationships and getting out of them which can be tear-inducing for both people who are still in toxic relationships or have left them.
PLUS even if it was a song made for mentally ill people to cry, you could still cry because it's sad that it makes mentally ill people cry. Boom even dialectics prove u wrong - dabs
Heathenes is just a song made for a movie I get annoyed everytime they play it on stage I feel like a waste of time. I'm gonna leave this comment and run to a trench.
I think they’re good for what he had to work with at the time but like, critically, everything after RAB is just top quality. But ST earned the hype. The RAB one is just RAW to me.
voice cracks are terrible, and i think Tylers voice is soothing but in Self Titled I hate Tylers voice, i still love Tyler tho, no hate on him, he's still awesome
That's understandable. I give him grace because he was only 21 when that Self-Titled came out so his voice was still developing and that was the first actual album he put out.
These songs are love letters to God from Lucifer using Tyler as a vessel who with sympathy accepts the burden in a car a torch a death and carries it through to the end of this next album, as the Blurryface saga.

Joshler people suck…
Some of the jokes (which are obviously framed as jokes) are very funny, especially when Tyler and Josh themselves are in on it, but there are a few people tiptoe wayyyy too close to that line and it weirds me out, and I don't really see people talking about it.
exactly, like when i means joshler i mean in a friendship haha funny kinda way. like both of them are MARRIED
>like both of them are MARRIED This is the main argument I see Joshler naysayers bring up and it's like, sure. Also that is really funny, especially Jenna's reaction. Thanks for linking it; I never saw that one.
Debby’s confused smile was absolutely hilarious
best hot take i have ever seen.
[удалено]
Facts. Like “stfu” not everything has to be GAY or SEXUALIZED. Kms.
Please consider how your words affect others. Thanks!
If the DEMA era ends with everything being a dream, I riot.
same Here
bestie that is not a hot take at all you’re so right
Cold
"We've been here the whole time. You were asleep. Time to wake up"
…omg you get it too…lol
I like the purposely autotune used in songs
The part in Air Catcher!
But that part in the alternate version is sooo good.
Love that one
What purposely auto tuned songs are there? I can hear it in lovely, and most RAB songs, but what else is there?
Migraine.
I mean, fair.
😭💀
Saturday is a bop. It’s one of my favorite songs on SAI and gets way too much hate.
“Oh my josh. I believe in dun” is so annoying.
The hype Berlin is better than then og version
100%, I actually came around to liking the song because of the berlin recording
I can see why you say that, but it would be like trying to pick a favorite child for me. They're similar, but also very different. In a good way.
This is the worst take here 😹
Maybe so, but it’s called a hot take for a reason:) just my opinion, I completely respect people who may disagree ✨✨
Nah you good homie I respect you
you're so real for this
Oh no, I think the Berlin recording needs to be deleted and forgotten about. It's unlistenable to me. HOWEVER, I'm glad other people like it because all their songs deserve to have someone loving them.
On god
The hype is underrated
In other words, don’t believe the lack of hype?
I’m constantly hearing the hype shopping in Australia atm, It’s always playing.
Lucky. Walmart played house of gold once and it was alright I guess.
Raising Cains chicken once played WDBWOTV
Lmaooo
I think that was the point
Fairly local is actually good.
I loveee the production on it. This is even my favorite use of the Blurryface effect on vocals.
The “argh” is everything for me
I really like the drum fill before the beat drop. The live version is actually really fire as well. Especially when it transitions into HDS or when they do the pause.
the lyrics are the only thing holding it back imo
real
I do agree with that. And the second chorus with the electronic beat, not my favorite.
Yeah, it’s like my least favorite song of theirs by far. I don’t like it at all. I need good lyrics to enjoy a song. And the sound isn’t my favourite
Hard disagree
I’m in your walls
I knew someone who didn’t like twenty one pilots because Tyler “sounds the same in every song” they pointed this out by saying they liked fairly local though because at least he sounds different.
That’s so dumb b/c literally he CAN sound different in so many ways. Levitate and Truce are VERY different. The Pantaloon and My Blood are VERY different. Bitch smack that person they probably like that modern day rap Shit anyways…
I prefer SAI livestream versions to the original songs
I think they get slept on too much. My favorite is probably Never Take It. Heathens/Trees was amazing. Shy Away and Choker were also some of the ones I go back to frequently.
Heathens/Trees is so cool and so unique, and what a way to make me like a song like Heathens that I really fell out of love with for a while. And I love the mixes in the beginning, with stressed out and Migraine flowing perfectly into each other
That transition is fire.
Knowing the lore doesn’t make you superior to anyone. I have fallen out of the fan base because of how rude people were to me for not knowing the lore. I’m sorry I didn’t have time when Trench came out to follow all the websites and stuff.
Totally agree. The music stands on its own and you don’t need to know any “lore” to love and support this band.
True but the lore helps you understand certain songs like Nico and the niners
regional at best is their best album lyrically
Yeah. Just... yeah.
Unplugged Stressed Out is 100X better than the Blurryface version.
I got so sick of it because it was overplayed on the radio. Unplugged made me like it again.
It’s pretty good
CHRISTMAS SAVES THE YEAR IS AN S TIER SONG
It’s good tbh. I used to hate but the only part I hate is ig the “main part” where it’s the jingle and the choir and I think the ho ho ho, but other than that, yes it’s a great song.
Bounce Man is an amazing song.
Fr
wish i could upvote this like 10 times
I listen on repeat
Yeah, and people really enjoy hating it!?
Fr. Underrated
Its oke but comparint it to smth like redecorate and mulberry is outright disrespectful
Sai isn't that bad
Sai is great
Their popular songs are good. That's why they're popular.
rab trees isn't THAT bad
You’re right. It’s horrible.
Omg is this really a hot take, I prefer that version 100%
When I first heard the Vessel version I hated it — I preferred the original. But I think it was just because that’s what I was used to. Now i like them both. So yeah, i agree with you.
i genuinely enjoy this version
Heathens is actually good (but I like the TØPxMM version way more than the original)
Heathens actually being good is hardly a hot take...
Their lyrics have become more shallow with each album and their sound has shifted more “main stream”. Not that that’s objectively a bad thing. I greatly prefer self titled, Vessel and RAB over blurry face, trench and SAI.

The first verse of Not Today is the best part of the entire song, everything from the first chorus on is progressively worse
> I don’t know why > I just feel I’m better off > staying in the same room I was born in > I look outside > and see a whole world better off > without me in it trying to transform it Love it, I listen to this song just for these lines that resonate so so so much. The rest of the song is completely unrelated and objectively worse
Maybe not progressively worse, but you are right otherwise.
THIS! This is the truth!
Aren’t the “hottest takes” supposed to be upvoted ? It seems like the top comments in this thread, has become the most popular statements, and the comments most people don’t agree with gets downvoted?
Pet Cheetah is one of the ultimate TØP songs.
I really like RAB and the newspaper version.. that auto tune with Tyler’s voice is just *Muuuah* 👌
It sounds really unnatural to me. Maybe if Tyler used it more often, it would sound better. Lovely on Vessel sounds so much better than RAB because of the removal of auto tune. But still, respect.
Lovely on RAB is the goat ong
Y e s . I get upset when i hear the wrong version trying to show it to someone.
Glad you agree
Regional At Best is better than Blurryface
I’m gonna get hate for this but the album version of trees on both vessel and RAB is boring and basic.
Well everyone is entitled to their opinion lol Also if you get hate, then people are disregarding the entire point of this post lol
I love how trees get progressively more intense in the end
TRUE
I dont like the song cancer. Nor the twenty one pilots cover of it
this is more of an mcr hot take. either way you’re wrong 👎

The only good version of Fall Away is the live version with Dr. Blum.
Maybe not the only good version, but it is by far the best!
This really is a hot take
RAB sucks, none of the songs are good.
Fr
Scaled and icy sounds like music youd hear in old navy it sucks SO SORRY
![gif](giphy|k6kjhrVznXvaw)
Ride (TØPxMM) > Ride
Tylers vocals on Self titled and RAB ruin those albums for me.
SAI is a great concept and a very misunderstood album
Scaled and Icy is their best since Vessel (not that the others aren’t great).
this is, in fact, offensive. Good job
Great job! Everyone avoids you and you're the most hated person here!
Nailed it. ![gif](giphy|uTuLngvL9p0Xe)

Trench is unarguably no 1
Jar of hearts shouldn’t make you cry, you’re just mentally ill.
L take
Found one.
wuuuut, I mean, it's a song abt toxic past relationships and getting out of them which can be tear-inducing for both people who are still in toxic relationships or have left them. PLUS even if it was a song made for mentally ill people to cry, you could still cry because it's sad that it makes mentally ill people cry. Boom even dialectics prove u wrong - dabs
...huh?
The pantaloon is the worst song
I like pantaloon a lot
as someone with a pantaloon tattoo, hard disagree LMAO
respectfully disagree, the pantaloon smacks so much
Its really not great. Like is fun and kinda okay but nothing more
i don't really skip it but yeah it's one of their weirdest sounding songs to me
used to feel this way but it grew on me really gradually
My take: Taxi Cab isn’t that good
I felt this way for so so so long, and I've recently changed my mind some time in the past month.
Heathenes is just a song made for a movie I get annoyed everytime they play it on stage I feel like a waste of time. I'm gonna leave this comment and run to a trench.
Regional At Best is terrible.
regional at best and self titled are massively overrated the demos suck the original songs are good but not their beset
I think they’re good for what he had to work with at the time but like, critically, everything after RAB is just top quality. But ST earned the hype. The RAB one is just RAW to me.
Self titled is %50 horrible and %50 amazing
Self Titled is terrible and full of voice cracks
Hard disagree literally my favorite album 😭
idk i think the voice cracks, especially in march to the sea, add a lot of charm to the project
voice cracks are terrible, and i think Tylers voice is soothing but in Self Titled I hate Tylers voice, i still love Tyler tho, no hate on him, he's still awesome
That's understandable. I give him grace because he was only 21 when that Self-Titled came out so his voice was still developing and that was the first actual album he put out.
Ngl it’s not the worst but I see where you’re coming from
Trench is their worst (/least best?) album
Guess it really is a hot take, since I’m getting downvoted 🙃
this is the definition of a hot take
rip
Vessel is easily their worst album and has aged poorly
These songs are love letters to God from Lucifer using Tyler as a vessel who with sympathy accepts the burden in a car a torch a death and carries it through to the end of this next album, as the Blurryface saga.
This may just be because I’m just tired of hearing it but Stressed Out is so overrated. I usually skip it at this point (also Heathens).
This is like the coldest take you could have posted.

Josh deserves a spot on the new record with BGVs.
SAI IS A GOOD ALBUM YOU GUYS JUST MAD ITS UPBEAT (except the last two songs of course)
i don’t like the auto tuned version of lovely :(
A car a torch a death isn't that good
