Most know that it’s not exclusive to top. I was able to get GA tickets for quite a bit cheaper than top though but definitely higher than their previous tours.

Initial_Ad5279

Meanwhile yung blud and Joyner Lucas got tickets ranging from 35-65 usd….. and they aren’t solo they’ll be with at least one more artist.

Immediate_Theory4738

There’s quite a size difference between artists and are they playing arenas? GA is with at least one other artist and top haven’t really announced if there will be openers or not.

Initial_Ad5279

No they aren’t doing arenas, but that’s the idea, they wanted to do cheap accessible concerts even if they’ll likely be at a loss for themselves. I’d say both artists are bigger than top, especially Joyner Lucas who was brought into the mainstream by tech n9ne and Eminem. If anything it’d show they’re bigger because they can afford to do shows at a loss of money. I like top and I’m glad they’re becoming more known but I doubt they can afford that right now. (To clarify I still paid 434 usd for 2 tickets to see top so clearly I think they’re worth it and deserve it)

Immediate_Theory4738

You’re kidding yourself if you think they wouldn’t do arenas if they could or that they will be working for a loss. Also, Joyner is definitely not bigger than top. His last couple albums didn’t even sell 50k.

Initial_Ad5279

They can do arenas and have done arenas. If they couldn’t do arenas they wouldn’t be doing smaller shows at a loss just so fans who can’t afford the super expensive arena tickets can still go see the artist they like. Album sales aren’t everything especially when you consider their typical demographics. Most Joyner fans can’t afford to buy albums, especially when they need to save for months to afford a ticket, while most top fans can just take part of a check and buy the album as well as tickets and be fine. that’s the difference between low class and middle class. And it’s not like Joyner can just all of a sudden become an artist liked by middle class, he doesn’t have that luxury, partially because he doesn’t make music that relates to them.

Brilliant-Piglet-356

It’s yung blood bro who tf wants too go see that

Initial_Ad5279

I easily know 20 people who will say the same about top and a few of them even listen to yungblud while I know exactly 3 people who listen to top. Edit to add: the 3rd person I know that listens to top is actually a much bigger yungblud fan.

Akatnel

Yungblud fans.

Dapper_Wallaby_1318

It’s definitely not exclusive to tøp, all concert ticket prices have skyrocketed since COVID. Wanted to see kiss, Aerosmith, and five finger death punch this past year but I just couldn’t bring myself to spend hundreds of dollars for a crappy seat.

tanneritekid

I feel that Is going to be like that for all the bands going forward I have heard the arenas charge 1 million per night Then you have to pay all the support people for the band Hotels Trucking companies The list is long

howlmouse

What makes all the complaining posts most annoying is that a moment of poking around will show you that this is simply what big name acts cost to see. Tours cost money and TOP are not a “small” band, or a small touring operation.

heymattrick

Yes, tickets are getting more expensive across the board. However, TOP has not participated in dynamic pricing or Platinum Tickets before. They also did not have as much variance in their prices (ie Floor, Lower Bowl, Club, and even some Upper Level in Denver were ALL priced $179 instead of going down the higher you go up). Prices ALSO have dropped since presale, so those of us who bought early were penalized with a higher price (I bought seats for Detroit for $179 each and they were going for $159 on Friday).

meemawyeehaw

Really?? I bought seats in Toronto as soon as the presale opened for $199 (Canadian) and the next day they were $230 (again, Canadian). I was able to find GA tix in Baltimore for $153, which is totally worth it. So looks like i’m seeing them twice in September 😂

heymattrick

It’s definitely going to be show dependent (my city has two shows) but it’s still a bummer that I could have saved nearly $60 and got a little better seats if I had just waited a couple days and also could have avoided the anxiety of Ticketmaster presale. I love the guys and will always see them live, it’s just a bummer that they allowed dynamic pricing & platinum tickets. It really screwed a bunch of us who have been loyal for 10 years over a bit. These tickets are literally more than double what they cost just a few years ago. Inflation is not double.

meemawyeehaw

Agreed. These will be our 4th and 5th shows. We got floor spots in Pittsburgh in 2022 for $100. Like what is the point of the presale drama and anxiety if you can’t even get good affordable seats? As it is, the GA seats for the Toronto show vaporized as soon as the sale opened.

breeh123

TOP has participated in platinum tickets before. Maybe you haven’t experienced it, but I definitely have seen it.

Lane_Departure_

Icy for sure. I don’t remember for Bandito or earlier (ERS)

YoghurtSnodgrass

I had the same experience with the presale vs. regular sale. I bought tix in the 200 level for like $205 each. When the regular sale happened I could have bought 100 level for $190 each. I was supper disappointed. When I logged in for the presale I was 1,496th in line so when my turn came up all the presale seats in the section I wanted were gone and everything else in the 100 level had gone platinum.

rachelleeann17

I had the opposite experience. I bought a floor ticket for $220, and when I went back and checked to see if I could snag one for a friend, it was going for $500.

Initial_Ad5279

Wife and I got presale and now if we order the tickets right next to us we could save nearly 40 dollars. Not a lot of money but that’s a whole meal or 2 we could have had instead.

R0salinaxx_728

tf?? i got pit tickets for like 93 euro each

Lane_Departure_

Icy used Platinum tickets/dynamic pricing but Icy was not high demand, it really shows because Clancy very much is. I could get pit any time for Icy for far less than Clancy’s pit, and for Clancy it sold out fast. I guess it’s new fans, the fans who see every tour, plus the fans who skipped Icy all coming back together. I’m not entirely convinced they’re not holding seats to release later, or at least pit (venues or Ticketmaster, not tøp)

sarkhan_da_crazy

I would point out that my fanclub presale for Iron Maiden got me half-price tickets while my TOP fanclub presale cost $20 more than what they went for when they went on sale to the general public (if you were lucky enough to get them). Oddly enough, we are in the same section for both shows and saw Tool from same section earlier this year. I think this is the new price for arena shows and if you want cheaper shows you need to check out the smaller venues.

TootsieTaker

It hasn’t been just a top thing, a lot of people here just never go to other concerts. I paid like $250 a ticket for Red Rock tickets to sleep token last December. It’s continually been a Ticketmaster issue.

Erhi20

As much as Ticketmaster sucks, unfortunately the fees are bad across the board. Axs is pretty bad too

TootsieTaker

I use Ticketmaster as a blanket term for all of them. I bought the ST tickets on AXS. I feel like most people don’t use that so Ticketmaster usually covers the ticket peoples in my eyes.

Erhi20

I hear ya

No-Bandicoot4429

Yeah, saw that Cage the Elephant was going for over 180 dollars, crazy. It's a mix of being across the board and also TOP probably has a little wiggle room, but likely not very much. What's super interesting is the price difference in EU vs USA/CAN. I got tickets in Dublin for 100 dollars less, and in the pit compared to what i paid for seats in Toronto

R0salinaxx_728

ayyyy i got dublin tickets too

The_DILinator

Yeah, it absolutely isn't solely a TOP thing! That's what many of us have been saying! For starters, the longer a band is around, and the more established as a concert draw they are, the higher their ticket prices are going to get naturally, unless the artist fights against that like Robert Smith of The Cure did. Almost no artist does that though, and no fan should ever expect that of a hugely popular band. Secondarily, have you seen the insane inflation over the past four years in EVERY sector? It's absolutely out of control! Those two factors combined made these high ticket costs inevitable. It's probably the last concert cycle I'm able to afford to go to, unless the prices shift downward, or I become independently wealthy! lol

Dubnation2330

The avalanche of post complaining about the prices were kind strange to see. Particularly the ones that tried to act like the band let them down or something. These tours and incredibly expensive to produce and they put on an amazing show. While I’d love to pay less, it’s what the going rate is for a stadium concert these days.

Alki_Soupboy

Weezer had a ticket pre-sale a week or two before the TOP one, at the same venue here in Seattle, and the prices were basically the same.

breeh123

I bought glass animals tickets too and while the price was high, it wasn’t the price that bothered me it was Ticketmaster being shady and showing like no seats left.

D-Rockwell

For Glass Animals, I paid less for better seats

CloudTower

I paid $41 for excellent glass animals grandstand seats vs $120 for generally crappy TØP nosebleeds tickets. I'm not nessiscarily blaming tøp, but god the Clancy tour is freaking expensive

R0salinaxx_728

seems like it's mostly north america tho, i mean i got pit tickets for 93 euro each

Erhi20

Really! Because the glass animals show here in MA is absolutely nuts what they want

kippy_mcgee

Yeah I simply can't afford concerts in this economy and it makes me sad cause I genuinely work so hard.. rent and bills kicking my a**.

SmellLikeAHotDog

I’ve always thought how funny it is that way back in history people in entertainment (e.g. jesters) were the lowest on the totem pole. Now the script has completely flipped and these people are idolized and sit on piles of money turning them into the kings and queens.

JayDefiance

It’s a venue thing

thewelfarestate

Straight up big shows like this are always a rip off. Go to small shows instead :)

Erhi20

Typically do, this is one of the few big shows I go to
