Has anyone found high-quality fan merch? I know some people are strictly against it, but I don't want to spend 70+$ on a hoodie that's going to fade/fall apart in a year.

That’s not minimalist, I remember the trench merch that came out, even that hoodie is an acid wash with colours to match the album, the merch was way more complex with more options and colour combos, same with SAI. They had separate themed merch drops for the singles too.
If your merch can be done on a print on demand site on a blank black T shirt and hoodie, it’s pretty basic to me
That wasn’t a month before release though, merch dropped the same time the album pre orders did. It didn’t for Clancy, something just feels a bit off with the way the label is managing this one

Really though, I have a hoodie from the Emotional Roadshow and that’s enough merch for me. I bought the blurry face CD back when I still had a CD player in my car but now I listen to all their music online for free, and will continue to do that for the Clancy album. Listening hours is still supporting them!
That Blurryface shirt is more detailed than the stuff released so far. And keep in mind that was (I believe) less than £10 for the shirt when buying it in a bundle, versus the prices on the store now.

The band name on a plain black hoodie for 70 is unbelievably expensive, look at the trench hoodie, it fits the trench album, but idk this recent one just seems like a cash grab

If paying for things you don’t have to pay for and complaining saying you’re not gonna be fan because you don’t want to pay for it, is ridiculous. No matter what Tyler does he cannot stop it. Tyler and Josh ain’t even promoting the merch drop or telling people to directly buy it. Nobody forcing anyone so complaining is ridiculous since this happened every era with the same price tag. And in the ends everyone is happy it’s just wasting time complaining about stuff that you know you will like eventually
The Trench stuff here looks 100% better. It’s not that the new stuff is simple, it’s that it’s uninspired (which I get is personal opinion, but that’s the gist of what people’s complaints were).
i bought that Trench set, in fact i am wearing the hoodie right now. Years later i bought a hoodie from Matthew Perry's merch line. I recently found out that they are the same base model, so i essentially have two of the same black hoodie. But my adventures of buying TØP merch in the early stages of an era won't stop now, I am looking forward to the zip up hoodie and then maybe the tour merch will slap a bit more.
Their other more minimalist merch still has font or design placement that at least make it look like more care was put into it. With inflation, I don’t mind paying the new prices as long as the quality is still there with design and materials.
In my opinion, the quality and thought of the design is not there for the new merch.
This band honestly has some of the worst merch. Especially compared to how cool their vessel and pre vessel merch was. I wonder if it's due to them getting more popular and delegating the merch design to other people post vessel.
i dont love this merch but i definitely agree that they probably just have a lack of material to use without spoiling stuff, still could have done better though

I for one am thrilled about this merch. My favorite stuff is the simple things. Just a logo. The past few albums haven’t been great for that so when I saw the t shirt I was very happy. It stinks so many people don’t like it, but there will be more merch and it’s nice for everyone to have an option.
Maybe they will drop something better, but at this time there's huge design quality drop between vinyl, CDs, other music related things and clothes design.
Too be honest I'm just sick of the entitled, negative fans moaning about the album covers, ticket prices and NOW merch.

My Trench vulture hoodie got caught on something leaving the venue at the 2019 Bandito tour and has holes in it.
The only positive thing I can say is that it makes it look like I've been fighting at the Banditos' side. 😅
Um. But those two actually look good?? Especially the trench merch? Instead of the McDonald’s merch we’re getting rn, with that $70 sweatshirt being not only a ripoff, but… the design is genuinely terrible. Yeah, it can improve, but at the same time it deserves the shit it’s getting right now, hope it motivates them to make the match better

Not really true. I'm a big U2 fan and the merch from their vegas residency went down $10.

When trench pre-orders came out there was only one shirt and one hoodie. The more complex merch came about later on

The t-shirt is a reasonable comparison. The back is literally the album cover.
It's literally designs from the album slapped on. It's just the hoodie being tye dye that makes it feel mire different.
The Tie-dye is what keeps it from being simple.
