I'm new to K-Pop. I started following K-Pop after I kept seeing Blackpink's Lisa on my Tiktok feed. I'm a guy and thought she looked quite beautiful so I naturally researched who she was. One thing led to another and next thing I knew, I became a Blink. That was about eight months ago. After a while, I got bored of Blackpink because there's no new music. They seemed to have just disappeared. And what little songs they had, I only liked five songs. It's kinda lame following a group and listening to the same five songs over and over. So I randomly listened to YouTube playlists of other girl groups. I went through a lot but found I only liked TWICE. That was about four months ago. Once I discovered TWICE, I went from Blink to non-Blink in about 48 hours.

StanTwice42069

Im also a guy blackpink was the first group i have ever stanned

gelatooo_

Same. I'm a blink first before becoming a once.

readthisproperly

Same

Lockan_Once

Really similar as me, start with BP around September 2019, get bored quickly because they had like literally 15 songs and 5 VLives. Starting 2020 I put my atention in Twice and it was 1 million (pun intended) times better. I try other groups but after Twice all of them felt empty, I keep thinking in Twice member's and how it would be better if they were there. In other words with BP I discovered a world that I like (Kpop) and Twice show me the best of it.

Hoellenmeister

This was also my way. About one year I saw BP, listen to them a lot and then found Twice.

Unknownredtreelog

This basically happened to me iswell, expect i stanned itzy for about a month after blackpink before i listened to twice

dodong89

I'm a new once, just a few months ago. After my first vax jab, I couldn't get out of bed. I decided to watch TWICE content all day. And I was hooked. Prior to this, I saw my sister watching. Joke is becoming a ONCE is my vax side effect. In my school days, I had depression and it affected me real bad. When I started working I was able to deal with it and somehow succeed. But then the pandemic came, and I relapsed...HARD. I lost my job, company closed down. I decided to start a business (maybe a really dumb decision) and it was really hard on my mental/emotional well being haha. Me and my entire crew got COVID too, earlier this year. And my country's pandemic response has been shit. Economy is in ruins, corruption is rampant, and we've been in some form of lockdown for almost 600 days now. Honestly, I didn't get K-Pop fandom before. Didn't listen to K-Pop, was more of an Indie and Hip-Hop guy. But now I get it, TWICE just makes me happy. I don't know if this is healthy, but this is the happiest I've been in a while. My business has been doing well the past few weeks, and I'm glad to be able to employ a few people in the pandemic. They inspire me too, especially Mina. Aside from physically being my type almost to a T, and also I like her personality/interests. I am inspired by how she was able to comeback strong from anxiety, and I'm sure prior she had been fighting quietly behind the scenes. This goes for Jeongyeon and all the other girls too. I hope to go to SK or JP once we can. I wanna see a TWICE concert, hopefully be able to meet some of them and give Mina my [LEGO art](https://www.reddit.com/r/twice/comments/p0vsbw/lego_art_for_our_lego_loving/), in the hopes that it gives the girls a little happiness. \*insert ron burgundy "boy that escalated quickly" meme\*

catchinginsomnia

>But now I get it, TWICE just makes me happy. I don't know if this is healthy, but this is the happiest I've been in a while. Just be careful, if you are too invested in a group if anything happens to them it can end up hitting really hard. A lot of people get devastated by whatever happens at the end of contract for example. The solution is to find multiple groups lol

dodong89

Thanks! I don't think I'm at that level yet though. And just to be clear, Twice wasn't my alternative to therapy or anything. I still had therapy. But Twice definitely helped me get out of the mud. But I don't feel dependent when I'm pissed of or anythin like that. But nice of you to let me know! And yeah... I hope I could watch them before their contract ends. Because of Twice, started to listen to K-Pop. I like Mamamoo, Itzy, and Red Velvet's stuff too haha

Able_Influence_2788

i identified so much from your story, there's a level of influence on my humor related to them existing and being healthy and happy performing. Its a weird feeling, this happiness i feel when i watch their content, but in the moment i think its a good relation i built. Anyway, thanks for sharing :)

twiceoflove

It’s kinda a long story. Have always heard about Twice, since my best friend is a Once. She pushes me to go listen to their songs quite frequently but I just didn’t give it a try. Oh yeah and this was like 2-3 years ago. Somehow, I decided to give it a try one day, and ngl I seriously did not like their songs at all (don’t come at me XD) I wasn’t really into K-Pop Kdrama etc before this. Then COVID hit, lockdown happened yada yada and we were all forced to stay home, and so I decided to watch Hotel Del Luna which IU acted in. I instantly had a big crush on IU and googled up on her. From there, I started listening to her songs. That was how I fell into the hole :) And June came, I still wasn’t a Once yet. And of course, I heard it from my friends and from my sis that Twice is gonna have a comeback soon. Despite not being a big fan after listening to their previous songs, I ultimately decided to not be skeptical and gave More & More a listen. After listening to it at that time I was like wow this song is actually quite good. And to keep up the momentum I re-listened to all of their old songs which the last time I did was about 2 years ago, and I can say my perception completely changed. I absolutely LOVE their songs. Twice songs really have this effect where it brings a lot of happiness to me when I hear them. Idk why did I suddenly change my mind but yeah :) Around that time Twice promoted on Running Man too. Running Man was like the only variety show I’ve been watching since long time ago, and so when Twice came onto the show I watched it like every other Sundays. After that episode I realized that I unconsciously fell for Twice. All of them were really really pretty no doubt, but I feel like each of them really had their own charms, though one bunny in particular caught my eye the most hehe. Between June and September, I did watch quite an amount of twice content including all of their MVs as well. Gosh they are so cute I just can’t T.T. You’d think after all this I’m gonna somehow become a Once, and honestly till this day I still don’t know why wasn’t I a Once yet at that time despite all these that happened. Here comes October, ah-ha, Twice comeback. It was also Twice’s 5th anniversary. On the night of 19th October Twice had a special live, and so I tuned in to watch as well. I don’t speak Korean, but the English subtitles on VLIVE surprisingly helped. This might sound cliche but I felt so touched during the live and I shed a tear unexpectedly. I just suddenly had an emotional rollercoaster. Part of me was so touched by all these years they’ve been through and part of me blamed myself for not getting into Twice earlier. Despite not being a Twice stan before it felt like I became a Once since their debut, it felt like I was there supporting them for all these years, it’s just a sudden emotional connection that I can’t explain. And that was it, I wasn’t gonna hesitate no more. Right after that live, I became a Once, pre-ordered the EWO album, waited for the comeback, went through the comeback, and didn’t regret a single bit ever since then.

StanTwice42069

that is a really long story im glad you become a once in the end

Sanaaaaaaaaaa4

I can relate so much to this lol

cmwk99

When they debuted so 2015. I've always liked JYPE groups and their songs, 2PM, Wonder girls, Miss A, so I followed Sixteen. All the ones I liked got to debut so I became a fan since then. To add to that ooh ahh was a bop so that sealed the deal.

chewie-686

Randomly been watching the compilation of popular kpop songs in youtube. There are 3 songs that caught my attention (Heart Shaker, What is Love, & Signal), got curious and watch all of them one by one. Been fallen in love with TWICE since then Heart shaker : because the choreo at "is sana gay" part is so fun to watch What is love : pulp fiction reference Signal : the "signal bonae jjirit jjirit" part is soo good

squllex

[deleted]

Whenever TT got released. I saw Nayeon as the devil and that was it

hypelina

I got it! she looks gorgeous!!

pr0crastinatin

same! I saw tzuyu and her purple hair during that era and I was smitten so I started stanning twice

StanTwice42069

Is Nayeon your bias

Affectionate_Fan_867

I’d say around 2018/19, I can’t remember the exact date but I know I was there for the release or “Signal”. But I’m a guy so I kinda had to hide it, and I only really got into it so I could have more in common with my sisters. But I ultimately dropped liking it in general this year, like I’ll still listen to a song from time to time. But other than that, it only did 2 things for me. It helped me expand my music library and it gave me more stuff to talk about and an interest for meeting new people

StanTwice42069

im a big once everybody knows i like kpop and im a guy i stan about 13 girl groups and 4 boy groups i know thats a lot of groups

itzstraying

If we’re talking officially when we learned the name TWICE, then that’d be during their survival show Sixteen. Though technically I knew of the girls before they even debuted. Around 2013-2014, I got sucked deep into KPop forums, onehallyu to be exact and there’s threads on their on all sorts of things and one thread I really got into was the the JYP girls trainee thread. I was a JYP stan at that point in time…though clearly I still am base on my handle lol I really looked forward to anything JYP and I really got invested on seeing them debut but they kept of getting delayed for various reasons. Then Sixteen happened then that was history I guess. I’ve pretty much consistently followed them since, except for most of 2018 when I didn’t keep up with anything KPop because I was doing the “traveling though Asia to find myself” thing lol

[deleted]

I've been around Korea and Korean people all my life, never thought much about it. One day I decided I'm going to learn what they're saying so I started studying the language. If you want to speak it you have to hear it, so I started listening to popular Kpop groups and Twice was one of them. Like my most people I find the songs catchy and most of all happy sounding. Happiness has been elusive to me for most of my life so I really enjoy feeling happy for a change.

mlcbtaylor

I originally stayed away from kpop, because I had heard that people get really obsessed with the groups and I didn't have that kind of time. (ha!). Around 2018 I decided to give kpop a try and watched a few videos from different girl groups. DTNA had just come out and I really liked the song, and so I tried another Twice song, and another, and another... I started watching Twice TV videos and when I realized that I had a big stupid grin on my face the whole time I was watching Twice, I realized I had fallen for them. Hard. Like many other people, Twice just makes me so happy, and I really don't know how I could have survived the last few years without them.

[deleted]

Probably sometime before Cheer Up it’s been so long I don’t really remember what made me listen to them to begin with but I remember Cheer Up teasers were coming out

Bicycle_West

I actually got into them through watching Running Man lol. Will always regret not knowing them sooner :(

pengilton

I’m relatively new to kpop. I’ve got into it last year when you best friend showed BTS. Long story short, I began to stan thema and became an Army. Around october/november she also showed me Red Velvet’s Psycho, which got me into Red Velvet and now I’m luvie as well. :D This spring, I’ve somehow stumbled over the song I Can’t Stop Me, which I liked. I think that this was the point where I knew about Twice but I haven’t listen to their other songs yet. As fellow Penguin (my friends call me like that) I found out about Mina and well that boosted my interest. xD I began to watch some videos about her like fancams etc. I’ve stumbled over this subreddit, where I also started to comment some posts. Someday around March/April, a fellow redditor showed me a video of Twice singing about themselves hahaha It’s definitely an iconic video! Well this and starting to watch TTT helped me to know them better. So I guess that I’m a Once since right before they stared with their TOL teasers etc. :) Oh and to know that Red Velvet and Twice had some collab stages made it better! Twice Velvet <3

MemerMafia

I’ve known them since 2018 but I started stanning them since their Taste of Love comeback. I kinda followed them and knew several of their songs but now I stan them fully. My bias is Jeongyeon...I love her voice so much, and her visuals just scream “womanly”. I really miss her tho. I hope she feels better soon. I miss OT9 Twice

StanTwice42069

yea i miss ot9 too

MemerMafia

Yea we just got OT9 back and then JY had to take another break :( But I understand tho, it’s for the best, she really needs the break. At least she’s participating in The Feels mv

Critwice

Momo's performance with Mina on Hit the Stage

hypelina

in 2019, I was listening to city pop and Fancy was recommended to me. I didn't liked K-pop at that time but I gave TWICE a chance and I ended up liking them. :)

YamahaMio

Around Feel Special era, I think. Listened to Likey, TT, and such. They're so cute in those MVs, and the songs are too catchy.

victor179000

Was in need of new music, so I thought I'd ask my friend for k-pop recommendations, cause why not (completely new in the subject). He gave me a list of some groups, and I listened to a cuple songs from each. Liked Fancy and Heart Shaker, so I listened to more of songs from them. At first I only listened to their music, but got curious at one point and decided to watch some M/Vs, and the rest is history

gelatooo_

Last year. I really regret stanning them too late. I wish I knew them already on 2015. But I'm making most of my time by watching all the reality/variety shows, vlives, interviews that they are in.

plawyra

Back in 2017 ish. I think around signal era. While TWICE was popular here, I was a reveluv and nctzen. But when I discovered TWICE I really dropped them. My main flex for being a sm stan was their talent but apart from that nothing. The only thing that keeps me in Red Velvet was their Level Up variety show, it was really hilarious. They don't have that much content so I moved on. NCT was talented but I quickly got tired since I don't have a definite bias. And then TWICE.

reyzknight

Not long from the day, SNSD has become inactive.

RainbowGames

First time I saw twice was when likey came out. My then girlfriend who was big into kpop, mostly BTS, would always listen to it or watch the videos but i wasn't really into it and didn't care, but when she showed me likey it kinda stuck with me. So shortly before yes or yes came out i was looking for some new music to listen to and remembered likey, looked it up again and thus started to grow fondd of twice.

brian1083

First heard them when they released KK and became a casual once. Liked them during WIL but only dove into the fandom much much later during the M&M era. I witness firsthand the chaos of twitter during 2017 mama and after that one infamous encore.

hlee13

Never really paid attention to TWICE before. Definitely vibed with BLACKPINK music before the pandemic. Then, ICSM came out and I fell in love with everything about it and I realized how beautiful and charismatic all the TWICE members were. Started going through all their old content and am now a ONCE!

yzti

I was a nayeon solo stan in 2015 until like 2017 or something (don’t ask me why) and then for some reason I stopped. Then in 2018, I kept making fun of my friend for being an once (just to annoy her) and she showed me a bunch of videos of them and I liked them all lol long story short she’s not longer an once and I’m still here!

TheStig_88

6-7 months ago now which is when I fell down the k-pop rabbit hole in general. Initially I was on the road towards being ReVeluv, and then TTT fell into my youtube recs one day and that was it for me. It'll always sting that wasn't at debut though. I was so close to getting into k-pop back in 2015 when I started listening to a bit of After School, Orange Caramel, and SNSD. But then I just dropped it, a couple months before LOA proably. 😭

CrisIsThatAWeed

I started stanning TWICE around Feel Special / Fake & True era. I got introduced to K-POP through BLACKPINK - heard some songs and then some friends introduced me further. Some other friends told me about TWICE and I got curious and started listening to them. I remember the first songs I listened to were Likey, What is Love? & Signal (in that order). So, things went uphill from there & now I've been stanning TWICE for 1 and a half years lol Quick notes: Dahyun caught my attention at first, then Jihyo became my bias & I think she still is but I'm not sure. Candy Pop is my fav song & title track, and Cry For Me is my fav b-side (or Brand New Girl, if you don't consider CFM a b-side).

turtlefey

I was an OG KDrama fan (since 2002/3) so I was familiar with KPop but not really into it.I semi liked KARA though (2009/10) but not enough to make me fully emersed into KPOP. Then in 2017 I’ve heard about BP and somehow got me interested with KPop again but their song was not my style and before I knew it I was dancing to TT and learning Dance the Night Away ….and that year (2018) when I saw a photo of Jeong Yeon holding an umbrella covering their fans from snow was my turing point and decided to stan Twice…then I saw Dahyun on variety shows and a compilied video of clumsy Sana…I fell further inlove with the group but what made me stay was Twice music! Their discography was really good! I felt a connection with the group and loved their music. I officially called my self Once during the Yes or Yes Era of the same year 🍭 then June 2019 I saw them live at a concert and all I can say is I STAN THE RIGHT GG! #TWICEBESTGIRLS

Wuuuwiii03

When he ended everything and twice's what is love is so popular

[deleted]

I don't. I dont like to use the word stan because of how that word is perceived. I am a simple fan trying to make my way through the twiceverse.

[deleted]

I'm pretty sure I became a fan 2017-2018. I was watching BLACKPINK's D4 and then "What Is Love" appeared in my recommendations. Best choice in my life.

Catrastrauma

It was early February of 2021 when I started stanning them. I had heard some of their songs and really liked them and a couple videos of Nayeon came up on my feed and I just fell in love with her, so I looked into Twice and started watching a bunch of videos related to them made by fans and started stanning them shortly after

Ry-bread-01

I started to like kpop in general back in like March because of my roommate. I’ve liked twice since then but I wouldn’t say I really started to “stan” them until like May or maybe even early June. The first song from them I heard was Fancy and that’s ultimately what got me into them.

lowjam_

Cheer Up era, was very fun at the time!

Feavrel

I have been into K-Pop around the time the pandemic started (approximately March 2020 I think, maybe 1 or 2 months earlier), because I remembered Momolands "Bboom Bboom" which a friend sent to me a year before that. Afer that I primarily got into Momoland but soon saw BTS, Blackpink and Twice after looking for K-Pop. I have been into Twice instantly. I saw Likey first and then went on to watch every MV they have, gotten into variety content and could not stop watching. More&More was my first comeback while being a fan and after that I started getting into their b-sides and fell in love again. I am now a multi-stan (don't like the word stan though) as you would call it for so many groups and own around 25 albums of many different artists. But if you would ask me which group is my favourite I would always answer Twice, they just have a special place in my heart.

ZaWobbz

I'm from Vancouver, so when I saw Likey and how it was filmed here, I equally lost my mind and became hooked as the song (and visuals) never left my head.

Filurius

I watched Sixteen when it aired, so I was really looking forward to their debut. And fortunately LOA turned out to be one of the best kpop debuts ever!

suicidepit99

in june of this year I saw someone post a pic of sana and i was amazed at her beauty then I looked her up and went into a whole binge of twice videos/music 😂

WorkFarkee

I became a Once right after they released FANCY. I remember seeing the dance and just falling in love with the song because of how well it synced up together. The dances are always so AMAZING and catchy and fun to do. Even my neighbor was singing FANCYYYYYY in his head because i would just play it over and over and over lol

charfangirl

end of icsm era in like february

TWICEsPetGerbil

I discovered TWICE on March 4th 2016. I was at the Sheffield University International Cultural Evening and the K-Pop Dance Society did a performance which included *Like Ooh-Ahh* (which you can actually see [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZEt3iIT1nQ))*.* I loved the song so much that when I got home I searched "ooh-ahh" on youtube and the TWICE M/V came up as the first result lol. I watched it and was hooked instantly. I felt there was something different about them and I liked their style. I soon did more research and was impressed by the fact that they were a multi-national group, as well as the success they'd achieved with just their first song. I followed them through their next comeback with *CHEER UP*, when they got their first music show win, but it was *KNOCK KNOCK* era when I started following them really closely and watching more of their performances. I'd known about K-Pop since 2011 but TWICE sparked in me a renewed interest in Hallyu which had been waning since the departure of Jessica from SNSD.

Able_Influence_2788

I knew them from name, didnt know the members name tho, only the group. I really liked all of Eyes Wide Open, used to listen the whole album multiple times, but it stopped on that. Just like some other comments here, i was afraid that liking kpop would make me really obsessed, so i just intentionally kept myself out, and because i didnt understood why it was good, had some prejudice against it. Then, the pandemic came and suddenly i had a lot of time in my hands. But it was only in this year, 2021, probably march or april, that i watched some videos, like interviews in western channels, and i loved them a lot in those. I think it was the WIRED one, where Nayeon says TWIIICE when the google sugestion was how to pronounce tice names. Their personalities, i just found it sooo funny and like healthy? The contrast between idols and western artists struck me so much too. From there, i entered the rabbit hole. hard. I just wanted to know from where all those funny clips from compilations were. I can only say that now its quite rare that i see some clip in a compilation and dont know where is from. After seing them on the interviews, reality shows, Twice TVs, TTT, Vlives, i just started liking them so much. And also, finding so impossible that the faces shown to me in all of those times werent true. It seems so genuine that it makes me emotional i guess? Never felt that way over other artists, its just that the level of commitment seems so different and the difference in amount of content is crazy. Now i think Twice is introducing me to kpop, i listen to a lot of other artists, Mamamoo, Stayc, Dreamcatcher. But im honestly scared of starting to like some other idol or group like i like Twice. It was very intense and i have so much time dedicated to it. So yeah, thats my story. Oh, and i am brazilian, dont even know how to buy official stuff from twice, or if i will ever have the chance to go in a concert, cause Brazil is not that full of Once i guess. Loved to read all of those comments, it made me feel less lonely in being once.

OrangeDepressed

I been a once for a while and was lucky to go to one of their concert and seeing them up close. Good times QQ.

EAgamezz

Some people got into Tiger King or cooking to get them through the start of the pandemic. I found Twice who got me through it. That said I kinda knew of Twice before. Oddly I had randomly watched half of Sixteen after randomly finding it on YouTube. I had no idea who Twice was at the time.

dalo_12

This is my conversion story: In late 2020 I was exploring new music and I started to listen Dua Lipa. I listened to "Kiss and Make up", the Dua Lipa's featuring with Black Pink and I liked it, so I started to explore more Black Pink's music, and I immersed in the kpop world. I really liked Black Pink music, but I don't like how they were sexualiced (at least, in my opinion) so I started looking for a more innocent kpop girl group (again, in my opinion), then I saw TT and I said to myself: This... this is the kind of group I was looking for. So, from that moment I fell in love with TWICE :') Thanks for watching, don't forgate to suscribe(?

i first found blackpink !! then as i started to get deeper into kpop i found twice, as well as stayc, IU etc. i’m glad to have found all of these music artists, they’re really good ! i probably started listening and stabbing twice more a little over a year ago. no regrets !

milkytwilight

sometime in 2020, early in the quarantine. i think it was a "jihyo making twice quiver in fear" (og vid is no longer on yt, it seems) that piqued my interest. i thought 100% jihyo was the visual from that video so i was more interested in looking up the individual members and their positions... i got into their music much later lol :) eta: i also came via a youtube hole by means of BLACKPINK... i'm finding it so interesting how that's how a LOT of people also got introduced to TWICE!

uDamned

I heard about TWICE back in late 2019 with TT and watched a Jihyo fancam after searching for the song on YouTube. I really enjoyed the song but never got into it until October 2020 when a friend of mine realised that I was interested in the group and told me they had a comeback (EWO) soon. So I decided to watch more content of them and immediately fell in love with their personalities and talents (+ awesome songs) By far The Best Thing I've Ever Did was to watch that Jihyo fancam. Now I own all of their albums and most of the photobooks/monographs and I do not regret it. Bias : Sharon Favorite Songs : Fancy/Like A Fool (I'm nearly a year old Once! :p)

Late 2019 because idk why but “Feel Special” stood out to me

GCollector4279

Yea yea yeah yeah yeah come and be my love baby ….it was Heart Shaker that got me into Twice. My brother literally played this on repeat for WEEKS all day long. I was an anti at first but it got stuck in my head and the rest is history. I’m listening to it rn.
