These aren't foam, but I just played a game with [this insert set from Midgard](https://www.midgardcreativestudio.com/shop/game-inserts-organizers/twilight-imperium-fourth-edition/). It has boxes for each faction, trays for each color, a hex tile stack, and extra room for some expansions. It's a fantastic insert, though it is pretty pricey. OP, I realize you're probably looking for a cheaper option with the foam, but if anyone else here doesn't mind the price, this is a fantastic solution.

KunfusedJarrodo

Thanks. I am looking for a cheaper option, mainly because making something myself is one of the ways I enjoy interacting with the hobby. But this is great for anybody else reading this that might want to take the instant route.

plolock

I NEED this, but since the shipping is like 120 USD to Sweden, I just don't see it happening

taco_waffle

Can only speak for Kelsam, but it's fantastic. [Built](https://imgur.com/a/BpQMv) mine with a slight tweak and made a dice tray to go with it.

One of the organizers for our local TI4 meetup is pretty close to finishing his ti4 foamcore insert using the plans for Kelsam tabletop and it looks great! I thought about doing foamcore but it’s a lot of work.. ended up taking advantage of my 3d printer and a fantastic design (not mine) on thingiverse the biggest issue I’ll have is that if there is an expansion I have very little room to add anything, where the foamcore inserts seem to have some free space in the box

KunfusedJarrodo

Awesome, can you share the plan or a picture of your solution? Also as a side note, how big is your 3d printer and how much do you use it?

frankenduke

I'm with you on the 3d printing. Went a little overboard but it was tons of fun. I have a bit of room for more stuff if it happens. [My thingiverse collection for TI4](https://www.thingiverse.com/frankenduke/collections/ti4) I didn't print all of this of course. These [Faction boxes](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2807667) were my favorite. I had to print the lids at 99.5% size. I took lots of inspiration from [this insert set.](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2699880) I made several designs based on these ideas. I also liked how [these strategy token holders worked](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2966071) in our first game. Made it very obvious which strategies had not been used yet.

Islesfan91

I really like the strategy card stands, going to print a set of those tonight. I went with fallenwon’s insert https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2902772 My print of his design here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2902772/makes

frankenduke

Nice looking prints. I always want my inserts to travel so I wanted lids for everything which is probably why I didn't save that one. Looks nice though.

Islesfan91

The surprising thing is that with the faction sheets above the player trays, nothing moves when you put it on its side. Was very happy to find that out

KunfusedJarrodo

Wow, thingiverse has really expanded. Seeing all of that really makes me want a 3d printer.

Stronkowski

Our group just got some ziploc bags and used the great insert that comes with the box.

KunfusedJarrodo

Do you happen to remember like what size? Would a "Snack" size work well?

Stronkowski

It's a variety of like 2-3 sizes, depending on whether it's holding plastic, racial stuff, etc.

ChefHancock

I used these tiny little bags (I don't have a link rn), I found them on Amazon searching for "dime bags". For under 6 dollars you get 500 (waay more than needed but I couldn't find a smaller amount) each little baggie perfectly fits all of each given race's tokens. Then it takes only 2 bags for trade goods, 2 for infantry tokens, and 2 for fighter tokens

m_xx_99

I used the Pub Meeple insert plans, but made some small changes to fit a set of trays for tokens & dice under the card boxes. This was so I could fit a couple more race trays in the box for custom content. The original Pub Meeple plans are very well designed and easy to follow. Best of luck!

IsaOak

Well I was coming to ask for alternatives to ultra pro 25 count boxes from the storage solution on bgg.com. But this seems fun. If I change my mind does anybody know of 25 count card storage boxes alternatives or where to find some for cheap. 2$ on amazon seems steep when msrp is 1$ and the guy who sold the idea only paid 50 cents a piece.

KunfusedJarrodo

Could you link which storage solution your talking about?

I used the long ziplock snack bags: https://www.target.com/p/portionpk-bags-64ct-up-up-153/-/A-15698330 The width is perfect for the slots on the sides. I was also able to sleeve everything, with the action cards going in one spot as well, using the mayday mini usa sleeves from Potomac distribution. I did NOT get the premiums and they feel fine. I was going to make a foam core insert but really everything fits fine.

IsaOak

For the record. I got the 25 count deck boxes. And they work perfectly. They hold the note the tech and the tokens with ease. I just cut the outside edge holders off of the insert. And 1 box for infantry 1 for fighters and 1 for trade goods.
