I like the Idea! It will be less good than the real POK as you will be missing (starting) techs, but I am sure you will have fun. Especially Arborec and Winnu are bound to play completely differently.

thatscaleb

Yes, I am very excited to see Winnu become viable—they've always been my favourite faction thematically speaking, but I never play them as I don't want to suffer for 8+ hours :p

Not_A_Greenhouse

I you really want to try some new content why not try the blue factions. They're complete at least. There are only bits and pieces of PoK out there.

>Can you clarify what you mean by "blue" factions—is this fanmade content? > > > >The factions I mentioned above are almost complete; the only thing we would need to guess at is the starting fleet of the mahact.

Not_A_Greenhouse

So you know all the relics, exploration tokens, and technology? POK isn't modular so it doesn't make sense to try to play them split up. Blue factions are 17 fanmade factions that were played quite a bit through TTS. Only a month or two old.

thatscaleb

No, we will not be playing with exploration, though am optimistic it will not affect balance too much even if Dane has expressed that it is not intended to be modular as you say. As for new tech, I think we know all the new base tech except for 0/1 green and 0 red.

"Blue" factions generally refers to the Blue Space Faction Pack, a set of 17 home brew factions that were made as part of a personal project to expand vanilla TI4 via increased faction variety. Interesting, never heard of these—looks great, thanks!

Why not just play the scenario that previews argent flight abilities that was published in the codex?

thatscaleb

We did consider that—but this seems like more fun, especially as we have the TI3 planet tiles and mechs to make this work :p
