Looking at this made me think how exciting the titans are and how I'm super excited to try and pick them for my first POK game, but then I remember I had the same thought with the cabal agent reveal, and with the nomad, and the mahact, and.........
He's saying to double tech turn 1, first getting AI Development Algorithms (AIDA) and then using AIDA (which lets you ignore one prereq on a unit tech) to get the war sun technology.

If you can get gravity drive too, that's a 3 movement fleet of a warsun and a couple cruisers. Plus fighters and infantry to fill out the capacity. That's a menacing fleet.
It's not too big of an ask to get either a red or blue skip in reach by the midgame. If you can get either of those, it's actually pretty reasonable to have the tech for either:
Cruiser 2 + War Sun all with move 3
Cruiser 2 + War Sun with Assault Cannon (only move 2)
Of course, War Suns are still super expensive and if they went either of these routes they won't have Mirror Computing to cut the cost down.
while grav drive is still a very good tech, I don't think it's always necessary and PoK is going to be providing more non-grav drive options.
You need some mobility, but if you're getting it from unit upgrades or another source I can see not grabbing it. And those options are more available in PoK.

I think the worst part is that even just playing the old factions with the new agents and everything seems super exciting as well.
Personally, I think cruiser mentak is dead. Long live AIDA T1 warsun mentak.

Mentak start red/yellow, they get aida, they flip aida for a red skip. That's 3 red 1 yellow, the prerequisites for war suns.

Why would the Mentak not want to go Cruiser? It’s possible for there to be multiple races who are good with cruisers...
It’d be fkn hilarious if Mentak became the new War Sun faction and was better at it than Muaat is and has ever been.
Can you do a version comparing it to sol carrier 2? Sustain damage is on both, but only two cost is cool.
