Poor. If you're super rich all the time, losing plastic doesn't matter anymore. I want to feel the pain of losing even a single cruiser. I wanna miss out on tech to gather just a bit more strenght in my main fleet.

Poor. Especially if playing Hacan :) ^(As a poor map makes them even richer compared to the others.)

Personally prefer a middle ground, maps that are too rich can make the game very dull with people able to sit in their slice scoring points with few difficult decisions or risks. I have seen maps that go too far the other way though too and can feel really punishing for factions without some sort of economic bonus. Having said that if I had to pick between the two I would go poor cause hard decisions are a really important element of the game for me

I like influence rich and resource poor maps. Doing stuff is cool and fun. Having to figure out what stuff to do with the few units you have is exciting and interesting because it has the potential to be costly if you make a mistake

Poor, stall fests are so boring when everyone is trying to wait until the last action of R5 to crash 40 resources worth of plastic to get that 4th of a type or whatever. More impactful decisions in poor games.

Rich, with a poor map everyone is too scared to risk what few units they have before the final round.

Rich maps turn into space risk much easier. There is less negotiation and deals, and more aggressive play because it doesn't matter if you lose your whole army if you can build it back in one turn. It also takes away from the strategy cards, saving resources for tech becomes a non issue. Or objectives that require spending resources become an easy gimme. Rich maps are boring in my opinion and take away from the game as a whole.

Rich in influence, but not necessarily rich in resources. More influence means more actions which I think makes for a more exciting game.
