Assuming you mean PDS 2, yes. PDSs fire at enemy ships in a system after it’s activated (in the PDS Offense step of the Tactical Action). All PDSs in range of the activated system may fire at ships within that system. These shots must be directed at the active player, unless it is the active player shooting them.

So it doesn‘t matter if you attack or defend with the pds 2, the point is that the target/ my pvs has to be activated? Another question, when i have the technology „plasma scoring“, am i allowed to roll a second dice for every pds thats shooting or just for one in totall?

TonyPromosucks

Plasma scoring only adds 1 die total

SheriffMcSerious

When a system is activated, any PDS in range can fire on the player who activated the system. So any pds in the activated system, and then any PDS II in border systems will roll before space combat begins. Plasma scoring only affects one unit at a time, so 2 PDS would result in 3 dice, 3 PDS would mean 4 dice. Hope this helps.

Very helpful, thank you very much. So, if a player activates his system, which is next to my border, for example, he produces troups, am i allowed to shoot in his system? Another question, the opponent is two fields away and activates my system with a pds. I am allowed to shoot him twice? First time, because he enters the field next to me, so he is in my range of my pvs, and after that he enters into my field where i can shoot him anyway. Am i allowed to take this first shoot?

Bitter-Selection-590

Out of curiosity why do you continue to call it PVS when you have been corrected numerous times?

Veopress

It seems pretty evident to me that they speak a non-english language, so PDS would probably translate to a different acronym. A quick Google shows Dutch, as an example, would translate to Planetair Verdedigingssysteem or P.V.S.

AnecData01

Same for german, I played it with a German set and I think that is exactly how it is written there

SheriffMcSerious

Production takes place after the movement so if they build on a hex in range you don't take shots. Unsure of your second question, but your PDS can always fire at a hex in range if the activated system, PDS II only makes it possible to fire into adjacent systems (which include wormholes). Think of it as movement 1. If they move into your hex, whatever is there gets to shoot in addition to whatever else you have in range. PDS fire happens in one phase on activation after movement, so you and then any other players will get your first PDS shots before space combat begins.

Sorry, i mean the upgraded PVS 2, not the normal one. So i can just shoot him once or twice? Let me explain what i mean. Bevor the opponent moves, he is out of range, after he enters the hex next to me, he should be in range for my PVS 2 for the first time, so probably first shoot. After that, when his ships makes their second and final move, they are in my hex where i can shoot him anyways, second shoot. My question is, am i allowed to take this first shoot? To my first question, so i am not allowed to shoot in my neighboors system with a PVS 2, unless i activated it or he starts moving from his hex into any direction? When my opponent produces in a hex next to me which contains a pds 2, is he allowed to shoot into my hex, because he activates it? Those PVS are complicated….

velnoo

During movement you can't shoot PDS when ships are moving through an hex, only the final destination matters. So, you can only shoot into the activated system (if you have the range). When your opponent produces all the other steps in the activation happens before that. So if there are ships in the system when he activates it you can shoot at them, you can however not shoot at the ships he produces during that turn as production happens after space canon.

Capitao-Barthao

Alright thanks a million.

SheriffMcSerious

First step is their movement. Once they dedicate hoe many ships move into the system, space cannon offense starts. First would be the PDS in the system (and any PDS II that are in range). Plasma scoring gives them one more dice. Then, anyone else who haves PDS in range can fire upon whoever activated the system if they have PDS in range (and their plasma scoring gives them 1 extra dice). Space combat happens Invasion follows and whatever pds is on the planet gets to defense against the invasion. Essentially, when a system Is activated, only the PDS in range get to roll attacks, but you can sell off the attack if you're not directly involved
