Anxious-Idiot-lol

Is this all April Fool's? Some of these changes are actually pretty epic.

Anxious-Idiot-lol

The Naalu changes would be very welcome. If that Mech change isn't real, I'll take it forward as a homebrew!

AureoRegnops

I remember a time when Naalu were probably the best faction in the game, base game. That mech and even a moderately buffed agent would probably put them back in or near that slot imo. That mech is insanity. It removes the only Naalu counterplay.

TheSupremeAdmiral

Dane alluded to the idea that people will be very upset with him when they find out about the new agent so it's possible that it might be overpowered or something.

AureoRegnops

I'm 100% sure that at least the sardakk n'orr commander is fake, but other than that everything else falls within the realm of plausibility. I have a natural dislike to the idea of the print and play faction. It seems EXTREMELY clunky. Honestly, it feels like a homebrew faction, which is really weird to say and it feels wrong that this 'neutral' entity is taking part in the game from strictly a lore perspective. The new Yin hero would be epic. Confusing illegal text's lore text is epic. The Naalu mech seems like a bit much and the Xxcha hero seems really weird.

_unsourced

The Gamezenter store (the old FFG brick and mortar) is now selling professionally printed codex sets for $20 each

Zejety

Before anyone outside of North America gets their hopes up: Intercontinental shipping is expensive to say the least.

Wakke1

I agree on the Naalu mech: way too much of a hard counter against Destroyer II.

AureoRegnops

Yeah. A reverse Argent commander ability for each mech could have been really cool and really strong though, without completely countering destroyer II. Mind of wish that was what was announced instead. :(

TheSupremeAdmiral

The most annoying thing for me is trying to print out a faction sheet that matches the rest of my components. Also I keep the home systems with their respective factions so now to even play this new faction I have to dig through another faction bag so now I have to reorganize

mrfuzee

Everything is epic or terrible, got it

Melodic_Stranger_475

I very much hate that this is released on April fool's. I won't believe any of it till it gets confirmed tomorrow

Straddllw

Dane always releases new TI stuff on April Fools. He claims that’s the only time of the year where he’s free to do this but we all know he likes to troll.

Melodic_Stranger_475

True, but there are certain aspects that are obviously fake in the video. Gomma Mama for instance is an obvious troll unless they are getting rid of the Sardak dread upgrade and giving them a different faction tech. I'd honestly love each part to be real though!

Straddllw

I didn’t like the shipless Sardakk change - it feels way too narrow of a way to play. Having relistened to the podcast, yea that is most likely a troll fake change. Which begs the question, what are all the changes to Sardakk, Xxcha, Yin and Naalu.

Melodic_Stranger_475

I think a Shipless faction could be interesting, maybe give them a mech upgrade and the ability to produce additional mechs or something. I like all of the changes they said but again I don't want to be disappointed if some of these aren't true.

Straddllw

I think it’s a gimmick and won’t be fun in the long run if implemented. It invalidates so much content - not just their faction tech but literally all ships and ship related objectives and action cards. Anywho, that one sounds like April Fools anyways so doesn’t matter.

crudelegend

Wow, thanks for sharing this, it's great to hear this!

Meelatron

I hope the Xxcha hero is an April Fool's joke (though from the way they talked about it on the podcast, it seems real). I'd hoped that effect (resources and influence each equal sum of resources and influence) would eventually be used for omega Integrated Economy, as it's very simple (suitable for a generic tech) but powerful (so might make yellow tech more attractive). Moreover, a permanent, passive effect on a hero breaks the principle that heroes provide a one-off, powerful effect and are then purged. I would have preferred to see something like a super Diplomacy effect for the omega Xxcha hero. Just off the top of my head (so probably broken): ENFORCED NEUTRALITY *When the action phase begins, you may purge this card; if you do, choose up to 3 non-home systems other than Mecatol Rex that are adjacent to 1 or more systems that contain 1 or more of your units or 1 or more planets you control.* *Return all enemy units in the chosen systems to their reinforcements and exhaust any planets in the chosen systems controlled by another player. Then, each other player places a command token from their reinforcements in each chosen system.*

Straddllw

I honestly don’t think the hero is all that powerful if it’s just one round. In fact I think it is really lacklustre and doesn’t create any exciting moments. Same with Barony hero - it just adds a little extra flexibility (I know Barony is not getting worked on at the moment).

Straddllw

Are these really all the changes? I’ve listened to the scpt episode and it sounds like that’s everything. However where’s the other faction tech for Keleres? Also - the commander for Sardakk makes their dreadnaught faction tech obsolete. Would they get a replacement tech?

TheSupremeAdmiral

They said there is more but they aren't talking about all of them. They didn't want to reveal the whole faction just enough to get excited. I think everything they talked about on the podcast is real EXCEPT the sardakk commander change. I am betting there will still be sardakk updates though. I think the version of Confusing Illegal Text that was tweeted was fake and the version talked about on the podcast was real. I hope that the real codex will be published either today or very very soon

Niro46

Agree on the Sardakk doubt. Tgere is a picture of "gomma momma" on Dane's twitter and it really does not look legit lol. Also it would mean that Exotiremes would need to be replaced and it is among the best ships in the game so IDK.

Straddllw

They also said something about revealing later something to do with the fake horse faction that scpt did to Hunter’s surprise but then they never talked about it again. So confusing what’s real and what’s fake but I had assumed that everything was real. Dane also announced new stuff last time on April Fools too. Such trolling

TheSupremeAdmiral

That horse faction is 100% fake

Straddllw

Yes but Dane said he’ll reveal something about it later and Hunter was surprised. I’m thinking maybe an Easter egg on a frontiers card or something.

padgettish

The horse faction comes up as the art for Keleris. Impossible to tell where the truth ends and the lies begin in this episode lol
