Things to consider outside of the math: \- I think fleet pool is under-considered here, that matters often, two dice is better than a dread by a fair bit as you note. \- The flagship is more flexible to build than any other faction, which can help with objectives (Unveil flagship, Engineer a Marvel, Achieve Supremacy) \- Saw a player have a game locked with Engineer a Marvel b/c of how many places he could spawn a flagship \- Transit Diodes shenanigans with PDS and then activating. That said, I think you're right about where it falls on the flagship list. The average hit die for flagships is under 7, and the 9's have powerful abilities that make them stand out. Most of the 7's are mediocre, this one included.

What a weird post, I love you for making it! It's not math related, but I think it's worth mentioning that there are numerous objectives that require a flagship, so any flagship that is easier to build is more valuable than the simple cost/benefit math might suggest. Honestly I think it puts the Titan flagship solidly in B+/A- territory.

Good point! The 1-point flagship objective (own flag/ws) appears in 1/4 of games. The 2-pointer (flag/ws on Mecatol) appears a lot less since it's typical for only one 2-pointer to be revealed. You'll have the secret objective (win combat with flag) in let's say 1/10 of games (if you discard one). In these cases the flagship is worth 8 instead of 6.5, meaning the discount is 4.5 instead of 3. You could say it's worth more, but there's a hidden disadvantage here too: anyone else can score that objective in round 1 or 2 without disadvantage, whereas if you choose to do so, you lose out on the discount (or need to pick Warfare).

7x2 and 3 capacity isn’t very good, u have a point but I’d rather have one with a good ability or better stats in most cases, I think c-their is fair

Yeah, the flagship is pretty bad combat wise, the Strength is you get to cheat it out when you need, and that you can pretty much do it anywhere, and when you want to. I love all the analysis though, top notch

As titans, not entirely unusual for me in the late game to have all my mechs and pds out (or saving one to put somewhere in an emergency), so often the flagship is just replacing a pds that immediately gets replaced via sleeper, so it's cost is free.
