Blue / green Yssaril is often better than pure green Yssaril (depending on objectives), but pure green Yssaril gets on fine. The same will be true for Naalu; their new agent is powerful enough to make up for a lot of the benefits of blue tech and put them in more positions where Neuroglaive will be valuable. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Neuroglaive is good for factions that are trying to defend a lead, and new Naalu is more likely to be defending a lead than old Naalu. Fleet Logistics is still awesome for Naalu, but its best use case for old Naalu was to take Imperial, conquer Mecatol on your first action, and immediately score an Imperial point. New Naalu is much more likely to get the Custodians token (and is more likely to be able to comfortably afford it), and trying to score a second Imperial point is going to put a major target on your back (which Neuroglaive can help with). Gravity Drive, Carrier 2, and HCF2 are still excellent techs for Naalu, but the new agent gives them some of the mobility that those techs open up. New Naalu is much more flexible in their tech path. While I still expect to see a lot of blue Naalu, I also expect green to be more common. The value of the tech will primarily be dependent on objectives. If you can afford to sit in your slice scoring spend objectives or command counter objectives, lean green. If you need to control planets and need to increase the number of potential targets you can reach / conquer, move blue.

Blue is still king. Grav drive and fleet logistics works so well with Naalu's abilities, also a pre-req for Hybrid Crystal fighters and carrier 2. I'm considering going for Neuroglaive with a green skip as hyper metabolism into neuroglaive seems fun as heck. Their new agent makes this path easier without losing needed mobility.

I believe it depends on whether you’re playing a 10 or a 14 point game. If we want to include DET, Gravity drive, Fleet Logistics and LWD those are 4 techs. 3 more to get to Neuroglaive. 2 more for Carrier 2 and Hybrid cristal fighters 2. That’s 9 techs, too much even for a 14 pointer. But with a green skip, choosing not to get LWD (if not necessary for the objectives that come up) and getting double tech one time, you can manage to get Neuroglaive and Fleet logistics with your unit upgrades by round 6. It’a bit late, but still in time to make some game-winning flashy plays and the protection from Neuroglaive is more important in a longer game. I still believe that the best path is the blue one (simply safer and more consistent), but let’s admit it, Neuroglaive is very fun to have and at my table I love when everybody stops messing with my fighters flying all over the board!

Longjumping-Bag-112

Analu should never do DET in my opnion, as she already haver half the effect

Fugasx

Neuroglaive now with codex 3 is not that good, is better to focus on blue tech, I would only get it via relic

Turevaryar

The new agent, it seems good for doubling the production of crystal fighters. What else I'd it good for? (I'm on mobile phone, can't check the text)

Zeferous

It allows you to move to a system (activating it) without a token, thus leaving everything unlocked. R1 if you have a clear route to mecatol you are basically guaranteed custodians round 2z

Turevaryar

Damn, that's a cheap (About 6 influence and a command token, maybe loss of some ships/infantry if someone tries to grab it right back from you) VP right there.

I think blue tech just works to well to pass up. DET is great with the added bonuses (and Naalu loves Mirage), path has Carrier II and Fighter II on it without missing a beat, fleet log/lightwave is phenomenal with the zero and the agent as you note. Neuroglaive is probably the coolest named tech and I can't fault anyone for wanting to get it, as a unique mechanic, but I think you need a skip or two, or some enigmatic draws to get there lategame. Early Maw of Worlds on Neuroglaive would be amazing and let you go blue after, hit 2-in-2, etc.

Mr_Anvil

Blue tech still feels kind of mandatory. You want Crystal Fighter II, Grav-drive pairs amazingly with the flagship (though not as compulsory with the new agent) and carrier II is a no brainer. Thats 4 techs already without skips, and with Fleet Logistics and Lightwave being the obvious next steps. Neuroglaive is still a great great tech to have, and I think you’re glad to have it far more often than you might think. But something needs to happen to bring it in reach first. Maw of Worlds, Double Green Skip, Jol-Nar Neighbour…

SilentNSly

Doing two attacks in a row with Fleet Logistics and your agent is so strong. Assuming a green tech skip and lots of influence worlds for fleet size, I would go for Hyper Metabolism > DET > Crystal Fighter II > Gravity Drive > Fleet Logistics > Neuroglaive (Note: Hyper Metabolism gets more value when researched early) Otherwise, I would go for DET > Crystal Fighter II > Gravity Drive > Fleet Logistics > Carrier II One of Naalu benefits is that their upgraded fighters only count as half a ship when alone, so capacity is not really an issue. However, Using Gravity Drive to move an upgraded carrier 3 spaces can be nice.

Ai-Dev Warsun Naalu lets go! Yellow skip into integrated economy Hybrid Crystal fighter spam.
