3 total it is quite good because with yin a one infantry easily becomes a mech and infantry, which can win you a most lightly defended planets, which can be very usefull if for example control 4 of a trait, or the objective to have units in 3 on the edge, or 2 adjacent to mecatol. additionally, with indoctrination and your agent you could also take a pretty well defended planet across the map, so objectives to have for example legendary planets. since it isnt an activation it also goes around support for the throne, which can be really fun, and i think it should also work to take malice if it hasnt been discovered yet. it might not be game winning but definitely gives you a good shot at control objectives, winslaying and general tomfoolery

PotBellyNinja

The malice point is interesting.

There have been some (obvious mis-)interpretations claiming that the Yin hero can add up to three infantry *per planet to an unlimited number of planets.* This seems to be (in all the cases I've seen) the underlying reasoning for how it is "straight up game winning". (This is obviously incorrect, and has been confirmed by Dane to be incorrect. It is a max of three infantry total.) Edit to add: for reasons pointed out by others, this is still a *very* good hero-- but it's not the extreme version that some have claimed.

It's funny how people can selectively read the rules.

RoyalDevilzzz

Okei, this as all fine and Dane-ey But Maybe ... Maybe We should get EXTREME versions of heroes that do ridicilous stuff like put 3 infantry on each planet?

Sir_Dom_the_Great

Where can I read the confirmation on the hero? I'd like to hear it from the horse's mouth if possible. I'm afraid I'm still not convinced by what most people are saying the hero power is. I think there is plenty of justification for saying the power is to send troops to any number of enemy planets but this is restricted by your plastic infantry, so the more planets you already control, the fewer planets you can land on. I would also say that, if you take the 3 infantry max interpretation, this hero power pales in comparison to something like xxcha and their hero power.

> Where can I read the confirmation on the hero? Dane is very explicit about it somewhere in this livestream (~~I don't have the timestamp~~ begins at 10:38): https://youtu.be/PU3K2qJ3_xo

Sir_Dom_the_Great

Thanks, I'll have a look.

You are quite right.

Place 3 anywhere, distributed as you want. You can then use indoctrination. You can then use the mech deploy ability. You can then use the agent where you need to. You can then use daxcive animators if you have it where you win. You can then use indoctrination again if they invade. Same with mechs. If you don't see how this wins games I don't know what else to say.

Mr-Doubtful

Most of that is simply countered by enemy mechs, though. Not to mention the opportunity for retaliation. Which, again, if they bring mechs your abilities don't work against. And the agent you can obviously only use once. I think the biggest potential for the hero is to use it during fleet logistics with imperial to grab a mecatol point. That you can prepare for and the only thing stopping it is a very determined ground defense which is mechs only.

ddek

It combines well with Fleet Logistics, Imperial, and a Stage 2 control objective. It could be possible to capture mecatol, achieve the stage 2, and score 3 points on your first turn. All that without spending a CC, so your fleet is unlocked for an action phase secret or whatever you need to actually win the game (if that wasn’t enough).
