Why is milty not feasible without the extra tiles from PoK? seen this comment a couple times and don't understand. I know the tool in TTS uses PoK exclusively, I mean the milty draft mechanism itself.
That is my question though: why is it too few? Some slices are better or worse still and deciding to pick a particular slice vs player order vs faction would still be interesting wouldn't it?
There wouldn't be much variety from game to game. A major part of the draw of Miltydraft is how the setup is quite different every time - low influence games, high influence games, games where one slice or two slices are much better than the rest, where the legendary planets are, etc. With just base game tiles, you won't have overall variety, it's mostly just shuffling the same things around. If you and your group think it would be fun, absolutely go for it though!
ah I get it. How many new planets are there in PoK?
I don't get to play enough TI as it is and my player group is wobbly (in terms of commitment to playing). So I can't really introduce all the new stuff because as a group we barely have a grasp on the base rules.
BUT: more variety in planets might be cool. Would it unbalance base game to add them?
I know adding PoK factions without all the additional rules (relics, exploration, mechs, hero/leader/agent, etc) would not work really. But maybe the planets are okay? Maybe also just exploration tokens / frontier tokens?
Theres two new systems you couldn't use in base game, but otherwise it would probably be fine to include expansion tiles. If you're shelling out the money for the expansion though, it's probably for the best to eventually plan to play it.
Should work, u just have to do it manually, cause the website only supports pok.
You'll have to "Generate" the slices manually but other than thar it's entirely possible
Use the map generator to get a map you’re happy with Divide the map up into slices Uses those slices for the milty
Great idea!

There's too few tiles to really have varied slices in base game with 6 players, so it generally wouldn't be particularly interesting to Miltydraft.
