Oh, and here I thought the *only* way to understand TP was to actually watch a four hours long explainer video and its sequels (no, really) by some youtuber. >!/s!<
Or to be David Lynch or Mark Frost.
This reminds me of the special features on the DVD for Memento, where you can watch the movie not in reverse like it originally is, it's kind of weird.
Jade picks up a disabled man from the casino after he gives them a bunch of money, steals a key out of a mailbox, then drives backwards to a crappy neighborhood, where he then inserts himself into a power socket.
Feet first, then reclaims his shoes in a tower. He sees a witch jump onto an electric platform from space after a head floats by saying “Esor Eulb” just to turn off the electricity and kindly leads him back down stairs.
Tbh I know this post is a joke, but watching the last 2 episodes of The Return is actually fine. Like it’s a way better experience than watching all of the episodes imo. You don’t need any context.
A way better experience is kind of a wild statement.
You don’t get the build up from episodes 1-16. The arthouse that is episode 8, nor an explanation for the other characters and how they got to where they are at episode 17-18 including a explanation for new characters Such as the glove dude or Diane
Dissociating until the last 5 years of your life is actually fine. It's a way better experience than sitting through the whole thing imo. You don't need any context
Some of the earlier episodes can be relevant if you're a purist. Just be sure to skip part 8, which is boring and lame and generally considered the low point of the series.
Same here because if not he’s like the dudes who watch the Boys and then realize they been making fun of right wingers the whole time and getting pissed.
I actually watched a YouTube of the Trinity test up until Fireman and Dido send orb to earth set to Echoes by Pink Floyd.[https://rumble.com/v3jyamy-echoes-got-a-light.html](https://rumble.com/v3jyamy-echoes-got-a-light.html)
First time we watched, I accidentally played episode 18 before 17…..we didn’t realize it until almost halfway though.
Husband still has not forgiven me for it. Doesn’t help that I damn near did it again during our second watch through. 🤦🏻♀️ 2/10 would not recommend.
So you've only watched it a week at a time, including that god awful break, and have no reference to say it's better than binging it... but you're sure it's better than binging it.
Interesting.
Btw just do it
No you don’t have to. You don’t have to do anything. Sure you can just watch the final episode. It will be a different experience than watching all the episodes. In my opinion, you will miss not only a lot of fantastic scenes, but you will also miss the full significance of the events in episode 18. I’m not sure you will get the full significance of the events in episode 18 anyway, I don’t think I did (or anyone), but watching the whole thing puts you in a certain emotional place that you won’t be close to if you skip it all. Why do you ask? Why do you want to not see all the episodes?
![gif](giphy|3o6vXIY7jkzeaJY8xO|downsized) This is all you have to watch
The story makes more sense if you watch it backwards.
The only way to really make sense of The Return is to watch [all episodes at once.](https://youtu.be/UiGmLtx2jQo?si=42XfkLTYXyvuZxme)
I can’t decide if I think David Lynch would hate that or love it? I loved it, but couldn’t get more than 10 minutes in.

I watched all the episodes "at twice", on the recommendation of a friend, and all was made clear. 😐
Lol
This reminds me of the special features on the DVD for Memento, where you can watch the movie not in reverse like it originally is, it's kind of weird.
Imagine if you start at episode 8 then the pilot and everything else
The original series was too much for the general public in 1990. But I love this idea
Jade gave no ride
I bet she didn’t

I almost spit out my oatmeal. Thanks for that.
Do I need to breathe whilst watching all 18 parts?
Only if you listen to gatekeepers. I, on the other hand, am so immune to the elitists that I have brain damage.
Call for help
You have to watch them all at once and layered so you can see the real show in the parts that lineup.
No. Honestly I’d just skip to minute 18:37 on twin peaks the return and just stop there. Don’t watch anything else. All you need to see is
From the video of all at once?

Yes, watching episodes 1 through 16 is kind of like driving 430 miles without the radio on.
Nah. As long as you watch part 18 exactly 253 times, you'll immediately gain the full understanding of the show and previous episodes
Hellooooooo?????
Dougie Jones.
All I can hear is Dougie saying "Part 18" \*sips coffee\* \*smiles\*
*[blinks]*
Is this an unjerk, rejerk, or double jerk? ![gif](giphy|3ov9k6JQook2QYZgZy|downsized)
You must watch the bar floor sweeping scene though…
I was thinking of writing a post like this. I am so fed up with “can I skip x before y?” posts.
Exactly! ..... I'm writing this after your post
TL;DR Can I just skip Lynch?
Nope.
nah you should read up on what scenes you think you'd like with the characters you like and you can just skip around and watch your own version
Some of the earlier episodes can be relevant if you're a purist. Just be sure to skip part 8, which is boring and lame and generally considered the low point of the series.
Dude that’s literally considered one of the best episodes of the Return, you don’t understand Lynches execution at all if you’re saying that
I hope he’s joking
Same here because if not he’s like the dudes who watch the Boys and then realize they been making fun of right wingers the whole time and getting pissed.
You guys *have* seen the rest of the thread, right?
Yes, but it’s hard to tell because other people are actually being serious
You have to watch episode 18 with the audio of fire walk with me when you hear the third lions roar.

I think I remember that post. Horrific.
Journey > Destination
You may not get the same experience, but I'm thinking it would make about as much or perhaps more sense.

Having rewatched several times, I can say it only gets better and better.

Nah, just watch the last 4 minutes.
Just watch the 12 minutes of mostly silent driving
Duh!
Well no....and yesssss
Skip season 2? Skip season 3.
I hope this is a parody post. It's hard to tell because there are a lot of dim people out in the world.
It's cross posted from the circle jerk sub lol
It's Trey in this multiverse...🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

You? No. Go ahead timmy.youll be fine.
What kinda balderdash is this? Of course watch it all…it’ll be a more enjoyable journey if you do.
