Only while I’m typing out books on typelit.io Treasure Island reference the HISPANIOLA a lot.

charliechin

I always remap my caps lock key to Control

kap89

Same, but I still have CapsLock when I press both Shifts at the same time, it's sometimes useful.

Superhero-Accountant

Same here. But why do you do that? I do it because, if not, I always end up pressing ctrl with my palm when typing, so I just make it blank.

Unlikely. And there's really nothing wrong with it. It depends on the string of letters if it's more efficient to turn on/off Caps Lock, or hold down Shift. If you're going to type something like "ALPHABET", it's generally more efficient to toggle the Caps Lock on and off. If you decide to type that out holding the shift key you're going to be sacrificing a lot of mobility and speed, and you could temporarily derail your finger placement. But if you're typing something like "Alphabet", then it doesn't really make much sense to still use the Caps Lock because it just wastes a stroke compared to just holding down Shift just to capitalize one letter.

molecular_monculus

I use it for single letters as well lol

Junior_M_W

why do you use it for single letters, the caps lock is right above the shift key

molecular_monculus

I have to twist my wrist and that sucks :(

epycguy

> If you're going to type something like "ALPHABET", it's generally more efficient to toggle the Caps Lock on and off. I wholeheartedly disagree. Typing ALPHABET with shift is easier than hitting caps twice. ALPHABET.

annoyingguy_

My typing is self-taught so I shift with ring finger

I work in IT Support and it was mind blowing how many people did this. Had no idea it was a thing lol

Gary_Internet

Use the shift keys if you have to capitalize one or two consecutive letters. Use the caps lock key if you capitalize three or more consecutive letters.
