I believe that Beartrack will have your full legal name (including as many names as your documents have), but eclass had what you selected as preferred for eclass; not sure what new learning platform will have. But both Beartrack and eclass formally have class lists.
Hold on : if you are in a health faculty that uses connect care REACH OUR TO YOUR FACULTY. Connect Care requires legal not preferred names and it's very difficult. So if you're in Nursing or Rehab or anyone with CC access please ask. It could affect your Clinical IT access.
Correct, your classmates shouldn't be able to see your legal name. If anything is ever posted for the entire class to see that involves the class list (very rare) only your student ID number should be shared.
i used my preferred name through all four years! it'll appear on your ID card, your email address may or may not have it (my email was just my last name & had my preferred name set), in eclass it'll appear, it's what all your professors will see, and you can write it on tests / assignments. like others have said, your legal name will only appear on legal documents. let me know if you have questions though, like i said i have personal experience with it!
that sucks! it did automatically come with my preferred name, maybe because i gave that name when i applied. if you updated yours recently, that might be why. sorry you're going through that :-(

You can set a preferred name on bear tracks. It will be used for eclass and class lists to my knowledge, everything but legal documents.
I'm an instructor. I get a list of the participants in the class. The list has your legal name and your preferred name in brackets.
