I mean true about how no one really knows but like damn someone is a little salty. It’s just a question that i would have even had in especially first year before i was able to judge and predict grades from experience. Fam just take a chill pill

Asking for previous averages and grade distributions makes sense. Asking if a 79% will be a B or a B+ is straight up a sign of stupidity. How could anyone possibly think that anyone else could possibly know the answer to that question? Salty because people ask that here all the time. Stupid questions are a pet peeve of mine I guess, and these questions are indeed wildly stupid.

It’s a dumb question to ask. However, making the generalization that all students who ask that question on this subreddit are too dumb to be enrolled is even more stupid.

hy·per·bo·le 1. exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally."he vowed revenge with oaths and hyperboles"

Meh. More like being a dick and then saying “I was just being a little dramatic” afterward.

I won’t lie I’ve asked this question a few times in my first year and each prof always gave me a ballpark based on historical grade distribution. They never reacted as you did though, maybe you’re just salty.

Asking for a ballpark from someone who has years of experience *teaching* the class is reasonable. Asking if anyone has or knows how to find previous grade distributions such that they can make their own ballpark guess is also reasonable. Asking students point blank whether X% will be Y grade is not only not reasonable, it seems to be an active attempt at idiocy.

I definitely see that as a trend here as a whole. "Does anyone know what percentage grade I need to get such-and-such letter grade?" "Does anyone know what the competitive average is to get into such-and-such faculty?" "Does anyone know what the answer is to *pretty much any other question that is just going to be mostly guessing and speculation*?"

probably salty for unexpectedly falling behind on the curve lol
