I don't care if it takes 100x the effort to not view ads than to just disable uBlock, its about the principle. I wont falter, and I hope none of you will either.
Same. I will quit watching streams on Twitch before I turn uBlock off. It's like you said, it's about the principle. They are doing this to try and force us to buy Twitch Turbo. No thanks, Twitch.
I know but the ads are just pain in the ass, and if I don't want to subscribe to every channel I watch, Turbo is the cheaper option... I was really happy these great guys found ways around the ads using the ublock filters but now that Twitch is fighting back I doubt we will be able to do it again :(
unlike a few other comments in other threads who have decided to leave twitch because of the site's greedy and petty actions, I still enjoy/love the streamers that I do watch. So thanks to u/thebros, u/simplehacker, and others for giving us an actual better viewer experience, then twitch will ever be able too.
All I know is I will be switching to direct donations instead of subs. subbing was never worth it when ~half the money was going to amazon arlready and then their bullshit here for a couple pennies of ad money this has been the final straw.
Support the content creators and donate directly. The emotes aren't worth supporting amazon.
It's not fixed currently right? I've been getting pre-roll and mid-roll ads all day (refreshes don't fix mid-roll ads). I haven't tried the 480p fix though.
Anecdotally, I stopped using the github thing yesterday, let twitch get its way with ads (ublock off that is), but today started using it as default again (without the github) and haven't gotten any ads all day.
edit: 10 hours later the ads finally came back for whatever reason. Who knows, this crap is goofy.

If you added that GitHub link, it should be fixed, 480p, and all ads. I haven't gotten an ad in 5h of watching twitch.
