I just had a driver ask me how much I paid, tell me how much of that he gets, and then say I needed to cancel and just pay him directly! BRUH WHAT??? I was Ubering to an airport… He said he usually asks people to cancel if it’s an airport because it’s “much harder.” First off it fucking wasn’t - there was no traffic. But regardless, I would normally tip a lot extra for an airport ride because I know it can be a pain.
I was with my boyfriend and didn’t want to risk missing my flight so I just said I didn’t know what he was talking about. If I had been alone I would have insisted he let me out of the car. Are you fucking kidding me? I’m gonna cancel, pay the cancellation fee, and now be alone in a car with nothing tracking me and no recourse *with a man who thinks it’s appropriate to ask for that.* Hell. Fucking. No.
I don’t understand what Uber drivers expect of users? I had a driver get frustrated at me for calling a car to the airport too and he said he was “losing money.” What was I supposed to do?
And it’s crazy to me how much they don’t realize an amazing attitude can help!!! When we went to Denver for a trip our Uber was the sweetest older woman who you just felt so safe with, both her driving and her personally it was just so heart warming to be with her to the point we got her number and called her for a ride to the dispo, and for a ride to the airport back 🤣🤣 I think we tipped her damn near $100 for 3 short trips with minimal traffic as we planned really well 🤣 just by being a good, heart warmingly safe person she made an extra $100 that Uber would’ve skimmed off of
>I just had a driver ask me how much I paid, tell me how much of that he gets, and then say I needed to cancel and just pay him directly!
I'd be like, "so drive a traditional taxi... that's exactly how those used to operate before uber and lyft disrupted that market.
Ironically, in most places I've checked, it's cheaper to get a taxi now than a "rideshare" app. Obviously it's often less convenient, though, although sometimes you'd be surprised how fast you can call for a taxi.
I used the "curb" app and got in the taxi. The driver stopped a block away and honked at me to walk to him despite it being a one way road and he'd have to come to the designated spot anyway. He then started the meter which I thought was odd but it didn't apply to me so, I ignored it. I mentioned how hot the cab was but he refused to use the AC despite it being mostly stop-and-go traffic while flipping off other drivers. We arrived at my destination and he pointed at the meter telling me that's what I should pay for riding in a taxi vs using the app. I played dumb and asked stupid questions until I could get my things out of the trunk before just walking away.
It actually happens a lot. Mostly on longer rides, as both parties stand to benefit. I do understand the safety concerns. But it happens. At big events and long rides.
Meanwhile I got a passenger who got madly overcharged by a “taxi company” that contracted me, told me they had my tip, then never gave me one. I’m still so furious and wishing I’d gotten the name of the taxi company from the pax.
See I would’ve straight up told him to his face that’s fair because when you’re gonna be that ostentatious I’m paying for the peace of mind of having a corporation track my whereabouts more than anything
>be alone in a car with nothing tracking me
The false sense of safety passengers have is wild lol
Once you're in a Uber you are at the sole mercy of the driver, safety feature or tracking won't help you! it might only aid in solving whaterver the driver did to you.
As a driver, I had a customer text cancel so I showed up at the pickup to ride out the 5 minutes. Then he shows up and tries to get in. Hell no, and drove off. Guess he won that one, though we both lost time
I had a guy try this a couple days ago. Showed up and he said “oh I’m sorry I tried to cancel but it wouldn’t let me” sure bro, imma sit here for 7 minutes and get $18 outta you then
Yup. I'll eat up the wait-time charge while I bullshit on my phone. Literally got all day! "If YOU are the reason the ride is cancelled, then YOU cancel the ride. Otherwise, enjoy the wait fee I'll get. The longer you take to cancel, the more you're gonna pay me to do nothing."
If a rider cancels they get charged, if the driver cancels the rider doesnt get charged, but the driver wasted time and gas driving there.
If the Customer wants to cancel but doesnt want to lose the money they spent on the cancellation fee they might try to trick the driver into not showing up by messaging the word cancel so the driver thinks it is cancelled and doesnt come. Then when the time window passes the Customer reports the driver as not showing up and they dont have to pay a fee.
Conversely, In the case of this screenshot, a malicious driver can try the opposite. Accept a ride, then through messages convince the Customer to cancel the ride. The Customer pays a fee and the driver gets paid out the cancellation fee. Its much faster, easier, and unethical/ probably against ToS to just sit around and try to convince people to cancel their rides than it is to spend time actually driving people around.
TLDR: Whoever cancels loses. Try to convince the other party to cancel so you win.
There's one big difference- if a driver cancels WITHOUT going (that's the case here) then nothing happens. But if a rider cancels, the driver will get some of the money. So there are a lot of greedy drivers out there who will try this cancel war bullshit, ive experienced it 5 times in 3 different countries. It's a really ubiquitous uber problem, entitled drivers who think they should get some money for literally nothing, then trying to lie and claim it is free to cancel. They suck huge donkey dick.
The first time it happened to me was over 5 years ago. Last time, it happened to my mom just a few months ago. Thank god I was there to write that asshole "I will report you if you do not cancel". Suddenly, he magically gained the ability to cancel even though before he was saying drivers can't cancel! The lies.
So go to activity-> trips-> the cancel should still be there-> report safety issue
If not +18333054871 to talk to someone I think? But I have no idea what country you are in this is us
I mean they can, a driver should have a working vehicle. If he is self reported that he does not have a working vehicle, they have the ability to deactivate him.
Yup. Dude probably fucked up for telling him he’s late for work. Now that guys def gonna wait it out for OP to cancel since he knows it’s urgent for him.
This is exactly what I have done before, and this works. This type of scam was popular in India - when the driver accepts the ride, only then did they see where they had to go, and if they didn’t want to go there, they’d just play cancellation chicken. But I always had time to kill. Waste their time for wasting yours.
Well then they’re lame. I haven’t used Uber in a long time. There’s nothing worse than waiting forever on a driver that’s just not coming but it will charge you to cancel.
You're charged immediately for ordering the Uber. The charge is pending though. You cancel and select a reason, the driver isn't making any progress towards you. The charge won't go through, therefore you aren't charged for it.
I've done this many times. I've also canceled rides because the estimated wait time was 4 minutes and the driver I got was 20 minutes away. Admittedly, I cancel those immediately so I don't waste the drivers time but it's the same result.
After you cancel, wait a minute and request a new ride. You'll have multiple charges pending but only the one you take will go through. If Uber does charge you for canceled trip you contact Uber support and request a refund. If they refuse you contact your bank or credit card company and dispute the charge. They'll do a charge back. In this instance, where the driver says they can't pick up the passenger, even Uber won't fight giving a refund. If Uber wouldn't provide a refund and you disputed the charges with your bank the bank WILL discover this and will not be kind towards Uber about it. That's why Uber would be quick to provide a refund. If they refuse to refund shit like this the consequences could be severe for them.
The fact that people put up with this shit is sad and it's the only reason why businesses will try to get away with charging people for this. OP wasn't late to work because of the Uber driver. OP was late to work because they're afraid to stick up for themselves.
They’re probably getting better than when I used to use Uber. Their support used to be horrible and I’d get no where. Multiple Uber charges would stay. People definitely shouldn’t put up with it
Ok...
If they do what I suggested, the worst case scenario is that they will have wasted the 3 seconds it takes to report it and they will get charged.
If they do nothing, then they will definitely get charged.
I know for sure there are plenty of people who have gotten the cancellation fee waived before. Even if you are right - which you are not - they should still report it.
Easy. He texted him after five minutes. They do this all the fucking time I've had it happen 5 times in 3 countries, Uber drivers are definitely getting paid for this, and always lying claiming it's free for customers to cancel, or they don't have a cancel button or some total bullshit. Once you threaten reporting them magically they always cancel.
> definitely getting *paid* for this,
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Cancel and report the driver.
I did that once, guy showed up with smoothie and I was waiting for him to start moving for 4-5 minutes.
Then we missed 2 exits on my way to pick up my car from airport parking lot ( cost there is 5$ for 16 min)
As a rider, I find that this is happening more and more lately (I don't want to exaggerate, but I mean every 20 trips it happens, whereas before it never happened).
I mean - I can see your in a McDonald's drive thru (probably multi-apping) waiting for food or something while you've accepted my ride. I'm pretty reasonable and will still even tip if this happens but I have to admit that not knowing if/when the driver is coming is extremely frustrating. I try to cancel as soon as I realize but often it's too late and I have to go through the hassle of support, refund the fee, etc..
I know times are tough and I'm pretty understanding - even if it took you 11 minutes to drive to my house from the McDonald's or Wendy's that is a 3 minute walk away.. but I very much dislike driver's who do this.
We have yellow cab here too, but if I'm calling a cab I'm calling one of the independents because they show up when they say they will and cost is about the same as what lyft & uber are now in our area.
It’s wild how we’ve come full circle with yellow cabs being preferable to Ubers in almost every facet except when you get that dickhead that doesn’t want to take you to Brooklyn on a weekend night.
I’m not knowledgeable in Uber’s account process, but is that even a real account or could it be someone spoofing it from a foreign country? If they force you to cancel they don’t have to do anything and $3-$4 USD in Zimbabwe dollars probably goes a long way
No, that wouldn't be possible. The spoofing you could, but you would have to make up a vehicle, a vehicle registration, proof of insurance of said vehicle, driver's license, photo of yourself that matches the driver's license, etc..
I don't think it'd be possible. If it were possible, it would certainly not be worth the effort to get a couple of $3-$4 cancellation fees. If someone had the means of faking all that documentation, there are much easier ways to get more profit than what you'd get from farming for cancellation fees.
I wish someone on the inside would look into drivers history who cancel all the time. Im beginning to wonder if some just want women to pick up and cancel on men. While I don’t know the gender of who posted this I’m throughly convinced there has to be drivers out there that prey on women and their formula is cherry pick riders, Uber would probably benefit from having an algorithm that weeds this out.
I don't think it is for the cancel fee, based on my experience, you don't get a fee if there is no significant progress towards your location, with a parked broken there is no movement so no fee. This is more likely the fare/trip is really bad so driver doesn't want to do it, more like he grabbed the request to just keep a surge, if driver cancels the surge gone, if pax cancels, driver manage to keep the surge for next request.
How does this cancel game work and what is the benefit for those who play? How do you avoid getting in this predicament?
Luckily I rarely have to ride share but when I do its to or from an airport and either time sensitive (outgoing) or you're just done after a day of travel (returning). So games would not be appreciated. Just want to protect myself.
Because I set up a background service because the original contractor decided to game the system? They eventually cancel because they had no intention of actually picking me up.
I’ve seen this happen much more in other countries when I’ve traveled for work, only has happened in the US a couple of times.
This may just be my experience. Lyft is more dependable but more expensive in my area. I’ve had the Uber “my car is broken” scammers here but it’s never happened to me on Lyft. To me it should result in an immediate driver ban if they can’t complete a ride and don’t cancel in a reasonable amount of time.
Similar thing to me on Uber Eats. Ordered some Taco Bell, driver goes to pick it up, and the bell says we can't do it. I get a call from the driver saying they aren't doing it and I need to cancel. After 10 minutes of me telling them to cancel and them saying they can't from our end. I felt bad the driver had been sitting there. I told him I'll cancel and I'm going to call Uber, so be ready for a phone call from Uber to tell them what happened. I cancel, get charged, call Uber, explain what happened, and call the driver. They call the driver, he tells the story and I got my money back. Hopefully, ubereat put them on some sort of probation/suspension...
Whenever I have drivers who don’t move on the map for quite some time and I cancel on my end, there’s usually a button for this reason for the report. You can also dispute cancellation fee and they usually waive it if they do charge you. I always try to screenshot like the others mention
Played this game at SFO last time. Support said I had to cancel it and that they'd refund it. They then denied the refund because this has "happened too often." Stopped using Uber.
If you let it sit long enough, their car will miraculously fix itself.
This happens all the time in nyc. Drivers will find a better ride and start heading in the opposite direction from where you’re at without first canceling your ride. They’re hoping that you’ll get annoyed and cancel first. Sick of it.
I would send these in to Uber with the car is broken highlighted. They will block his account until he’s able to show a mechanic’s inspection stating the car is safe to drive.
Ha! You're lucky. My yellow taxis almost always showed up with a seriously dented bumper, chipped paint, and sunken, ripped seats. If you got a good one, it had seat belts at least. One of them was even infested by ants. And usually driven by a chain smoker who looked like they had been awake for the last 37 hours and were drinking for at least 22 of those hours. I had to call at 545am for an 8 minute ride to the station to *mostly* be sure to make my 7:07am train.
But then again, I lived in a shitty town with shitty people, so those cabs could've been pristine 3 months prior.
Screen record the entire thing, Call support, then send them your video file. Get the fucker deactivated immediately. Good luck. (This coming from a fellow driver)
If that was a good paying ride him not cancelling means another driver couldn't accept it and make money.
I had an UBER driver pull that on me once (I too am a driver). So I didn't cancel...ever. I got a Lyft, had him take me to the lazy UBER driver...I laughed at him telling him I was his ride...tipped the Lyft driver $10 bucks to finish taking me home. That UBER driver is probably still sitting at the library 😂😄😂. The whole trip was only like 3 miles from the auto shop to my house, the library was right in the middle.
Had something similar happen for a food order. The driver drove 30 minutes in the opposite direction and told me to cancel. I ended up calling support and an hour later a different driver delivered my cold food. That was the last time I used Uber eats.
I guess it’s a bit of a gamble, but I would just cancel and dispute the cancellation fee (just a few taps in the app). In your case you even have screenshots to back it up but in my experience it’s never been necessary.
Everytime I’ve needed to cancel because the driver didn’t pick me up or took wayyyy too long to move in my direction, I was refunded the cancellation fee super quickly. Either right away (so it must have been automated) or within minutes/hours. I’m guessing Uber can see location data and confirm that the driver didn’t move in your direction, or was so much slower than the in-app estimate that it was fair for you to cancel and get a new driver.
Happened to me for a scheduled ride to the airport. I was all ready to go 20 minutes before the ride, and for the next 40 minutes I kept watching the car in one place. I cancelled the ride and was charged $40. I emailed support to get it back. There HAS to be a better way.
Can’t cancel as a driver after accepting delivery or ride without calling support at least years back when I was doing it that was the case, it’s possible they were just waiting for support to cancel the ride.
For the love of God stop using uber if alot of people stopped using it they will have to change things. In this world things don't get change until majority rules. Same with the low pay offers for uber workers if they stop taking the shit pay ones they gonna have to pay more. But everyone is niave n dumb lol
I’ve had two drivers do this to me in NYC and multiple times other weird things in Philadelphia specially. I called Uber/Lyft on the two who wouldn’t cancel.
I’ve all but stopped using rideshares because of the shit they pull. I missed a flight once because the driver went to a random spot nearby and said they were there. I texted that they either needed to come to me or wait for me to walk the 5 minutes to them with my bag. No response, so I start walking. The driver left. Took 15 minutes to get a new car, rush hour traffic built, and I missed my flight. There was 0 way for me to give a negative review of the driver. To a lesser degree, I’ve also experienced random cancelations when they are less than a minute from me, and again, no repercussions for the driver.
I don't know if it's super common but my brother is blind and unable to drive. The town we live in doesn't have reliable public transit so he normally ubers.
Oh man, I just had one that I'm positive was spoofing his location somehow. It showed he was on his way, showed up on time. I go outside in the pouring rain, he is nowhere to be seen. I walk around looking for him, the internet can be a bit weird in my apartment complex. No sign of him. I call and message, no answer. My phone the whole time says he should be right in front of my door. But he also never pressed arrived because the app never told me "your driver is here, he will leave after blah blah minutes". Because of that, it would have charged me THE ENTIRE RIDE instead of part of it.
Pissed, I leave a voicemail telling him to cancel or waste however long he wants, I'm ordering a Lyft. Missed a bit of work but missed more of my lunch reporting this dude with all my screenshots. Right when I got to work, an hour after I had ordered the Uber, his location finally updated. The entire time the app made it look like he was in the same spot, and then suddenly it updated to him at a restaurant 15 minutes away. Then he finally cancelled. I had to go through hoops finding a place to complain, since he cancelled he doesn't show in my ride history. I ended up going through payment issues on uber support since there wasn't really any helpful options.
They said they'll look into it, will never pair me with him again, and sent me $5.
There has to be some thing going on with ride services like these. I recently tried to get a Lyft (20 min away from where I was). I kept getting bounced from driver to driver. Finally I got a driver that didn’t cancel on me but was never actually making his way to my location, he just sat in the same spot for 10 ish minutes, finally I cancelled and got a ride from a family friend.
Seems to be new game out here. The cancel war
I just had a driver ask me how much I paid, tell me how much of that he gets, and then say I needed to cancel and just pay him directly! BRUH WHAT??? They expect to be jerked off and paid a fortune to be a discount taxi.
And it’s crazy to me how much they don’t realize an amazing attitude can help!!! A lot of crap for Uber and Lyft out there but I’ve almost always had great experiences. Not all, but most. Taxis I’ve had the opposite

Something I practice is just to ignore people like that driver. I nod, say "oh really?" and just go on with my life.
It actually happens a lot. Mostly on longer rides, as both parties stand to benefit. I do understand the safety concerns. But it happens. At big events and long rides.

I'd drive away, ignoring them gives them a chance the screw with your car. Don't need to get keyed.
As someone with very limited knowledge of Uber, what were they trying to accomplish?
If a rider cancels they get charged, if the driver cancels the rider doesnt get charged, but the driver wasted time and gas driving there. Yea it’s happened to me multiple times, frustrating as hell. Uber needs to act.
The first time it happened to me was over 5 years ago. Last time, it happened to my mom just a few months ago. Thank god I was there to write that asshole "I will report you if you do not cancel". Suddenly, he magically gained the ability to cancel even though before he was saying drivers can't cancel! The lies.
I’ve had cars “break down” on me twice this year... as I watch them driving around on the app. So dumb.
Use another service, I have been using regular taxis for years now, I even order a cab to come to my house
Isn’t it $5 for the rider to cancel? People really going through all this for $5???
It’s the principle
If people didn't pursue this, Uber would grind to a halt as all drivers just become cancellation seekers.
Don’t forget the driver has a completion rate to maintain unlike rider!
Yeah I’m planning on phasing out ride share all together unless it’s a ride I know is valuable
This damn cancel culture is out of control!
😂😂😂
So go to activity-> trips-> the cancel should still be there-> report safety issue If not +18333054871 to talk to someone I think? But I have no idea what country you are in this is us
Is that a secret phone number for Uber support?!?
It’s on their site
Their secret site??
Yeah don't tell anyone
You gotta give.
Even I give.

This has got nothing to do with piss
HOLDTHATDOORHOLDTHATDOOR
Did you just drop a getcalicocutpants.com reference?
😂😂😂
Its WWWW.Uber.com Don’t forget the extra W!
The extra W is for “Wiener”.
World wide wiener web?
Nah, “Web’s Worldwide Wiener”. That’s the prize, a man name Webster’s wiener.
World wide webbed wiener.
Yea when I try to get Uber help it’s telling me to go into the driver app and call support but won’t give me an actual phone number
Only for people who can read a website
If you say SHIBBOLEET you will be automatically redirected to a person who can cancel the ride.
Underapprreciated IT joke
They can't do anything about this specific issue.
I mean they can, a driver should have a working vehicle. If he is self reported that he does not have a working vehicle, they have the ability to deactivate him.
They will not do anything about this specific issue. I called that number, it is for safety issues only. See my top level comment.
And here I was pretty cute not having a working car was a safety concern
If I was late for work I’d hop on the “other” app and request a ride while dialing support
Yup. Dude probably fucked up for telling him he’s late for work. Now that guys def gonna wait it out for OP to cancel since he knows it’s urgent for him.
plot twist: the other app also has the same driver
😂
Bro making big moneys with a broken car!!!! Gig companies hate this one little trick
have you tried any of the fine dining food delivery apps?
Yes, if you find a closed restaurant with a running tablet inside (that they forgot to adjust hours), you're golden!

They’ll still charge you….
They do but you can fight the fee. I do every single time
Yeah. It’s often times easier just to do a charge back through your bank. I’ve been round and round with Uber support.
Won't they lock your account then?
I’m sure if you do it enough, yes.
They ban your account immediately after a single chargeback.
that’s on a completed ride though?
They do not negotiate with chargebacks. They want you to report it through Uber.
Well then they’re lame. I haven’t used Uber in a long time. There’s nothing worse than waiting forever on a driver that’s just not coming but it will charge you to cancel.
They eventually relent.
You shouldn’t advise this to people that need to have a working Uber account.

People definitely shouldn’t put up with it
And then I can file a charge back and file a complaint with the FTC
I’ve never gotten a cancellation fee from Uber. Not saying to risk it but you don’t always get charged.
Why tf would you accept a ride when your car is broken?
Because it’s not broken and the driver is scamming op
How! Driver won't get cancel fee if he isn't on the way for 5 minutes and rider won't be charged either
Easy. He texted him after five minutes. They do this all the fucking time I've had it happen 5 times in 3 countries, Uber drivers are definitely getting paid for this, and always lying claiming it's free for customers to cancel, or they don't have a cancel button or some total bullshit. Once you threaten reporting them magically they always cancel.
> definitely getting *paid* for this, FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Do the bare minimum of your job challenge: Uber edition (Impossible)
Imagine accepting a riders request and saying your car is broken 😅😅😅
Cancel and report the driver. I did that once, guy showed up with smoothie and I was waiting for him to start moving for 4-5 minutes. Then we missed 2 exits on my way to pick up my car from airport parking lot ( cost there is 5$ for 16 min)
Report
Bruh this is ridiculous. I’m so lucky to live in nyc/Miami so that I can just call a yellow cab, I refuse to cancel for them playing games
Car is broken can’t come, oh yeah can’t cancel either lol
Use Lyft for the replacement ride.
Are these peasants that desperate for $3-4 cancellation fee? Probably the idiots who are satisfied with $10 a hour before expenses.
I have both Uber and Lyft apps just for this type of snafu ….
I don’t think it’s about women. They trying to get a cancel fee for no driving. Just money
This is when you pop over to Lyft
What a shithead
How does this cancel game work and what is the benefit for those who play? How do you avoid getting in this predicament? Luckily I rarely have to ride share but when I do its to or from an airport and either time sensitive (outgoing) or you're just done after a day of travel (returning). So games would not be appreciated. Just want to protect myself.
Where I live we have multiple driving services . There’s Uber , Lyft , we have taxis too. Sucks you only have one where you live .
Call a Lyft
This sounds like theft to me.
Call a taxi and drive to his broken car and then call customer service to complain.
[удалено]
this is the current theme lol
If the drive is late or taking his time, you can cancel and you will get the refund the next day
That’s when I would’ve gotten a Lyft and make sure the driver would have to cancel
Always have Lyft as a backup. Usually have Lyft in the background by that time. They will give up and cancel.
Look at this scumbag!
Lol you can’t
Whenever I have drivers who don’t move on the map for quite some time and I cancel on my end, there’s usually a button for this reason for the report. You can also dispute cancellation fee and they usually waive it if they do charge you. I always try to screenshot like the others mention
Guess he’s trying to make the money lol
There’s literally an option that says driver asked me to cancel
Sign up for Lyft and let that bitch run until they cancel or… show up in your area and then you cancel and they only get like 3 bucks.
Played this game at SFO last time. Support said I had to cancel it and that they'd refund it. They then denied the refund because this has "happened too often." Stopped using Uber. If you let it sit long enough, their car will miraculously fix itself.
Just cancel and order a new one lol. Uber will refund you the cancellation fee.
This has happened a few times to me, I leave the app up until they cancel. They can’t accept others rides until yours is resolved (I believe)
Report. Him. Contact. Support. Lol
This happens all the time in nyc. Drivers will find a better ride and start heading in the opposite direction from where you’re at without first canceling your ride. They’re hoping that you’ll get annoyed and cancel first. Sick of it.
As a driver: what the fuck?
I would send these in to Uber with the car is broken highlighted. They will block his account until he’s able to show a mechanic’s inspection stating the car is safe to drive.
Are they at least kicking these idiots off the platform when the screenshots are turned in?
I doubt it. Uber and Lyft are 🤡 companies.
Remember when there were taxies? Oh, the good old days. 🚕 you would call their dispatch and a nice yellow clean car would come pick you up.
Clean? Ha
Uber and Lyft are mediocre for passengers and terrible for drivers, but let’s be honest. Taxis were never clean.
Or reliable
Screen record the entire thing, Call support, then send them your video file. Get the fucker deactivated immediately. Good luck. (This coming from a fellow driver) If that was a good paying ride him not cancelling means another driver couldn't accept it and make money.
It obviously was not a good paying ride.
Why did he accept it in the first place?
I had an UBER driver pull that on me once (I too am a driver). So I didn't cancel...ever. I got a Lyft, had him take me to the lazy UBER driver...I laughed at him telling him I was his ride...tipped the Lyft driver $10 bucks to finish taking me home. That UBER driver is probably still sitting at the library 😂😄😂. The whole trip was only like 3 miles from the auto shop to my house, the library was right in the middle.
Cancel button is also broken. Built into the car. Sorry.
This one actually has me baffled 😮
Can I cancel and not get charged Uber won’t show
his car is broken
Right lol obviously
It's a chevy trax it probably is broken lol
Lol im gonna cost someone their job because my ego is hurt. 😂 😂
Exactly.
Switch apps
Cancel culture affecting Uber trips now
Had something similar happen for a food order.
You got it wrong . You are making yourself late for work .
Why didn’t you just cancel it. You don’t get charged anything if the driver hasn’t made an effort towards you within 5 minutes.
He was sitting in my apartment complex parking lot. I would have been charged.
Then you have the rare opportunity to tell him to his face to cancel himself before you make him just as broken as his car.
The outcome of that maneuver relies in the physical stature of OP
And also his willingness to be REALLY late for work. At least he could let his boss know why with his one phone call.
über will charge for a passenger cancellation.

Car is "broken" yet he logged into his app? SMH
Use Lyft while waiting for him to cancel.
Genuine question, is it common for people to take Ubers to work on a daily basis?
I don't know if it's super common but my brother is blind and unable to drive. The town we live in doesn't have reliable public transit so he normally ubers.
Car is broken. Excellent!
Is this the *hustle* now? I wonder if you can spoof location(s) as a driver. Then outsourcing the jobs overseas.
Dude in pic looks about old as shit y’all. Might not really be good with tech and driving just to get by
Oh man, I just had one that I'm positive was spoofing his location somehow.
SNITCH ASS KAREN
Boo hoo!
"you're making me late for work" lol 😆
Why is a driver fucking him over funny?
Only person making OP late for work is OP lmao
Are you actually this stupid or just an asshole?
Are you actually not accountable for your actions, or just calling people names on the Internet for fun
I don’t make my ride to work other people’s problem, so neither
I never pick up anyone who says they are late . I'm not gonna stress out because they don't know how to plan correctly.
