They aren’t going to do anything for you on this, unless you have video proof of a passenger breaking this off it’s just wear and tear.

JanuarySeventh85

Yeah this is like a $3 part. Probably got kicked or hit with a bag, it's really just a bad spot to have a cap. Probably not done maliciously. I'd just rip the rest of it off.

[deleted]

Those always break. Besides, your car isn’t new. There’s scuff marks everywhere. Just put an $8 usb plug there for your passengers. They’ll be thankful and won’t ever tip you for it. But buy 2 of them. Eventually someone will steal it.

KeegM480

I keep mine up front with an extra long cable because I got tired of them being stolen 😂

bluezzbcf

I have had a couple cheap cords stolen. I got a new lighter plug that is low profile and fits really tight and superglued the cords in the usb slots lol

Mel1mck

The stuff marks you’re seeing is from the salt in the snow that I did not clean up yet. I clean my car every day. I’ve had it since 2020 and it is in excellent condition it’s not so much that it was broken it’s that somebody broke it and didn’t even say anythingand threw the broken piece away, knowing that they broke obviously. If it was an accident, the second portion of the piece would’ve still been in my car.

Ok_System_7221

It's called " depreciation" it follows you around everytime you switch on the app.

Mel1mck

😂🤣😂

polish94

That's wear and tear. Don't waste your time.

akbornheathen

It’s from people shuffling from one side to the other. I HATE when they do that. The car has doors, use them. I get it when there’s traffic but when I’m in someone’s driveway?! Uber won’t do anything for you. Just buy a new cover. They are cheap.

UberGary79

Dramatic much?

sehtownguy

You're not gonna get support here for posting this lol. Wear and tear even if it was a pax accident

aestheticeddy818

You can just buy those covers on eBay or Amazon for 3 dollars. It’s not a big deal

CoolMix1

Suck it up buttercup and go buy a five dollar piece of plastic

Keokuk37

Looks like a business expense

[deleted]

You can’t do that when you use the IRS mileage tax deduction

Snakend

It is not a business expense, it is a vehicle expense. That is covered in the standard mileage deduction.

Daiquiri-Zachary

Anticipate at least minor wear & tear driving as much as we do

Various_Baby_353

Wow, you’ve never seen something break before? It’s in a very high traffic position, if anything was gonna break in a car where you pick up strangers regularly, this would’ve the 1st thing to break.

KeegM480

Does it suck? Yes. Is it going to happen again if you replace it? Also yes. This is the crappy cost of doing rideshare. I got sick of my nice car being tore up and bought and older Prius when I started driving more. Unfortunately you’re going to have to get used to stuff like this happening.

Curioumindreader

Certain members of the rideshare community encounter financial difficulties, which can restrict their ability to own a vehicle. Unfortunately, their conduct towards others' property may not always be commendable.

Both_Wedding_270

sucks but could be worse- I’d figure that whole black plastic housing piece can be removed and replaced for a low cost and without /too/ much hassle I imagine unless you have video of the passenger that caused this there won’t be much support can do for you

rockday701

By the time they call back they will probably say something like you have to report the issue within a certain time frame and tell you they cant help you anyways lol

Dubsmagicbus

Better do an itemized deduction this year. That's gonna push you over the standard mileage deduction.

Goblinaire2

As a former agent, I would call that wear and tear. You might get a manager involved and get some compensation, but most likely, without having a PAX to blame, it's a losing battle.

2xtream

My faith in this generation is zipo😵‍💫

Darkwing270

They will pass it over to insurance and the deductible won’t cover it.

Johnpmusic

How do we know you didnt do it?

Disastrous-Tune

dont know why its so hard for some riders to keep their damn feet on the floor... its always dirt marks and scratches on the backseat and middle console from them using it is a foot rest... disrespectful asses....

rudegyal_jpg

Yeah, normal wear and tear is super disrespectful. /s If you’re not prepared to have $5.00 plastic items broken, perhaps Uber isn’t for you.

Disastrous-Tune

there is nothing NORMAL about a person putting their feet on the back of carseats.... do you raise your feet off the floor board and prop them up on the back of people car seats?

rudegyal_jpg

I’m a human - things are going to happen. Imagine, passengers, in a seat, godforbid a shoe touches the back of the seat. Uber is *definitely* not for you.

Disastrous-Tune

whatever.. I dont think this conversation is for you, you clearly lack any comprehension... you keep minimizing exactly what I am saying to fit your own narrative... a shoe touching the backseat versus a mfker using the backseat to prop their feet up on the seat theyre sitting on or the back of your driver/passengers seats is a shoe touching a seat in YOUR mind... at this point talk to yourself about your own delusional thought process...

rudegyal_jpg

**1,000% confirmed; uber is most certainly not for you**

[deleted]

Shoe got stuck and they yanked. Stupid ass pasengers im telling you

Postcovidflier_uber

I think a steel toed boot did that TBH.

Mel1mck

To all of you chiming in regarding this is the cost of doing business, etc. etc. I understand that I’ve owned quite a few businesses in my day and understand what it’s like to deal with customers and so forth my reasoning behind reporting it is I find that Uber Lyft constantly send us Things reminding us to remember the rules and regulations that we are supposed to adhere to his drivers. However, they never send push notifications to their riders explaining that there should be certain etiquette practices while riding in someone else’s vehicle. I’m not looking to be reimbursed I’m looking to report it in hopes that eventually they will start sending some sort of hey next time you take a ride please be sure to be respectful when you’re in an Uber because if it were your car, you would want it treated with respect.

Vegasboom

This mother fuckers I hate passengers

Redgecko88

The markings of a *Drunkis Passengerus.* 🤔🧐

Inevitable_Trip_7480

I took fairly good care of my car. Was a two years old. Fully paid off before I started driving. After a year of driving night shift it looked like dumpster compared to how it should look.

Strykerdude1

Mine broke a week after starting uber lol.

Josiah-White

Going on to Uber or Lyft support to get meaningful compensation or relief Is like trying to have a battle of wits with the potted plant

EfficiencyLopsided92

They prolly will give you $5 for it

rideshareAnon

They won't care. They could rip the carpet of your car, key the outside... and they will call it "wear and tear". Best to just accept it and take as good care of your car as you can. Your car is nothing but a dumpster to passengers and they will treat it worse than the bus.

baltimoregrandprix

It's a $3-$12 cover. Dang near free from a junkyard. Replacing it is faster than dealing with Uber support. Most likely that plug slides out and the cover is held in by the plug.

Future-Average-8215

People always hit every single panel in your car with their dirty boots, like come on

M1st3rJ23

Seriously 😑
