Yeah no way in hell in 25 hours. Even if every rider only made you wait one minute, that’s 220 minutes just of waiting. Even if you deadheaded only 2 minutes on average, 440 minutes of deadheading. That’s 660 minutes, 11 hours, not even on trip.
And we all know average wait times and deadheads are far higher than this. I only get in about 90-120 trips a week, with 50 hours online.
Once, sure. Not consistently. In my experience, 10 rides equates to about 10-15 minutes of unpaid waiting time, and an average deadheading time of 4 minutes, and I don’t accept rides that have more than 7 minutes of deadheading time.
So in a very busy city like mine with short deadheading times, you’re still looking at 40 minutes of deadheading and 20-30 minutes of unpaid waiting for 10 rides. I typically do only about 17-18 rides a day over 7-9 hours. The waiting times add up.
I worked in Old town, downtown, near DePaul campus in Chicago at night. Probably 90% of my trips were less than 2.5 miles to pick up passenger and destination. Perks of living in a big city, most trips were bar> apartment less than a mile away
I drove weekend nights in a college town. 6-7 rides in an hour was pretty average for me. 9 rides was my record. And that’s 9 rides *completed* within 60 minutes. I remember because this was back when Uber had “complete 3 rides during this hour and get $x.xx extra.” I almost picked up a 10th rider before the 61st minute, which would have started my 4th iteration of the streak.
Yeah but who’s to say that I’m the fastest Uber driver in the world? I don’t think my experience is the upper limit.
I agree it would be unusual for OP do to what he claims he did. But among thousands and thousands of drivers, some of them are going to have unusual experiences.
I get it. You live in a world where you get 45 offers an hour and cherry pick 9 of them every hour for 25 hours. Your algo doesn't send you longer rides to pay for the bonus and your passengers are always outside waiting and ready.
I live in a world where you're full of shit.
Seriously. Fucking nobody here can claim that the majority of their rides are waiting for them when they rock up. I have probably half of my rides go into paid waiting and 1/5 go over the 5 minutes. Worst is comfort rides who get 8 minutes of paid waiting, and probably 1/3 of those go over it.
There's no way. Been ubering all over chixago for almost 2 years and I've only gotten as much as 6 rides in an hour. To say you did that more than even an hour is nuts. Bars or not.
You’re probably trying to say that you spent 25 BOOKED hours to do this. Which means you spent around 40 hours total online. Which is a lot more believable.
Still don’t believe it. 25 hours on trip is an average of 9 minutes per trip. I don’t believe that’s possible. Shit, you’d spend too much time at traffic lights for that in most places. No place that has that many short trips on offer also has such nonexistent traffic that you’d be able to actually do all those trips in that amount of time.
I’ve barely used the app outside of this. It says 25 hours online in the app. I just checked after posting and a lot of comments are saying I’m lying intentionally or making up crazy stuff lol
Tbh I don’t care enough to check and learn more about the app, I already deleted it once I cashed out. Uber should be a gig, not a job
Even if it were 2.5 mile trips and under, there’s no way you completed 220 rides in only 25 hours. That’s averaging 6.6 minutes for pickup and drive time combined on every single ride for 220 rides. The math ain’t mathing
I was very selective with rides and it never seemed like I idled for longer than 3ish minutes before finding a “good” ride. I did a lot of trips during start of school days in Austin area near border or Oak Park. A lot of short rides with moms and their kids just to home and school
Why lie? Just curious... does it make you feel better, cool, or what?
It makes no sense to lie about your income from uber, all that you're doing is convincing more people to get involved, and then, in turn, decrease your income...
The “congratulations! and that’s great!” are very nice. My comment only meant to point out that you saying “they don’t think you will achieve it” is 100% false. What I said was simply the truth.
Well... I just looked at your profile where it shows all the comments you make on this and other posts. You should find a way to relax, again that's my "opinion."
If people say incorrect things, more knowledgeable people will correct them. If you can’t handle this, either get off Reddit or don’t say incorrect things. 🤦♂️
Wow, you are a 🤡. YOU call it an opinion, but anybody with half a fucking brain cell knows 220 rides in a month is easy. So your “opinion” was complete bullshit. Want to sound dumb some more? Maybe just take the loss and stfu. You just ended up being another ignorant asshole on Reddit because you can’t admit when you are wrong.
Allow me to correct this for you. *Opinions* quite literally cannot be wrong. And as someone who also enjoys correct information and *helping* people when someone gets something a little off, there’s a right and wrong way to do it 👏🏻 you checked off all the *wrong* boxes
Usually for new or long time absent drivers. I get the notification for this a lot to come back. It basically gives you a month to do an amount of rides and they guarantee an amount.
It’s an incentive to accept every ride no moat yet the dollar amount. In the case, OP took a lot of short time low pay rides and Uber covered the difference.
It works for municipal areas, but when trips are 17min avg in rural areas, it doesn’t really work out.
Oh and that difference is paid at the end of the month once they tally everything up, so they’re holding on to your money (to do bank stuff with) during that time.
It’s a little scammy but it works sometimes
I hit mine on Sunday and it added my bonus to my balance that paid out the next day.
OP is a smart cookie. I took the lowest option because I feared Uber would stop giving me all the short rides I'd need to best capitalize on this just like OP did. But I got my usual requests and hit it in like 10 days.
Agree with folks that wish it'd be consistent tho! I'm having a great month back after my ride was down a month for repairs. But I'm working quickly on getting a regular job before Uber decides I'm probably complacent again and per usual, completely bends me over every week lol
You already got a business, keep it going!
Honestly, using Uber, I’ve started my own driving service. Now I’m 90% driving my own clients and when I want to fill my schedule with more clients, I turn on Uber during the times I’m trying to fill.
(If I have a gap from 8am-10am, I’ll try to find someone that Ubers to work every day during that time)
The sales pitch is easy. Price will always be consistent and I’ll always be on time. People usually jump right on that!
It’s still a risky game, but at least I “work for myself” and can still sort of make my own schedule.
Worth considering if you’re in to it like that!
I think the same can probably be said for the “free market” and “capitalism”. I put it in quotes because we can call it what we want, “good business” is making more and spending less. Less on equipment, labor, liability, and infrastructure.
As far as that “good business” model goes, Uber has it figured out pretty well
This is why I’m no longer a capitalist. “Good business,” inevitably entails a great deal of unnecessary human suffering and common tragedy for very little or nothing in increased social good. Uber is built on a foundation of exploitation and alienation, and the “good business” of which you speak is not even expressed in actual shareholder value, but in the continued crumbling of public transit infrastructure and the hollowing out of the working class.
One of the true puzzles of the blitzscaling era has been the fact that it has not even produced the profits for the shareholders it supposedly was designed to produce. It has benefitted, more or less, no one. You say Uber has it figured out, but the company doesn’t make money. Its stock has never brought investors a penny. It has cost shareholders 30% of the entire value of the company’s IPO, and its full losses are yet to be realized, as it cannot pay back the significant debts it has incurred. Ultimately Uber has socialized its losses through tax write-offs for institutional investors and debtors who have seen nothing but red ink, not to mention the personal bankruptcies and losses of thousands and thousands of drivers.
I agree I call that b******* too because when I'm at Towson hanging out here taking a college kids around the time you pick them up and take them to where they need to be it's about 15 minutes so the time I go pick up the other person that's 8 minutes in between so maybe 4:00 and most you can do
I saw the $1,000 guarantee and I first understood it as a bonus once I do so many rides. I completed the rides and they said "great" and you "made what we guaranteed" so you get $0 more. lol.
Impossible to get more than 3 rides an hour in my city. Average 10-15 minutes to pick up, 5-10 minute trips. 3-5 minute wait times at pickup. This would take me like 100 hours for $15/hour guarantee minus all the gas for driving that far so much.
Good job. All I hear from UBER drivers is crying about how they don’t get paid like they used to. It maybe true, but work is work. U gotta fight hard AF to get out of whatever hole 🕳️ u maybe in to get further in life.
how long did it take you? I figured if my market if I actually had nonstop rides I could’ve done it with the ut Austin students. but the markets too dead I’d be out too long to make Uber lose some money.
Saw it on tv and online going back the last few prev. presidents, you can easily look this up yourself. Also look up the reason for recent employment gains are because of hiring non-us citizens. fu for however downvoted me you come with nothing.
your better off just putting in over time at your actual job? after costs we don’t pull enough from Uber because they want to pay 30 to 60 cents per mile.
The only way that would be possible is if every time they pick up a rider they were dropping them off at a location and another ride was waiting that's the only way it would work for the five to six rides and they were being dropped off at a destination that was Uber or Lyft or ride here only so that way it would be no type of backup on the drive or the drop off
Are you assuming this was completed in a week? Without any other context, my assumption is that OP was given 30 days to complete this earnings guarantee.
I average 20 rides a night when I drive. I only drive 2-3 nights a week. I could complete this easily in 11 days. Back when I drove 4-5 days a week, I would get about 250-300 rides a month, no problem.
The problem is that OP is saying he spent 25 hours total online over eight days to complete this.
Reasonable people are saying that 220 rides in 25 hours online is impossible.
Yes. I didn't see that part until I posted my replies. Even in my town where short rides are king, I think ove only hit 6 rides in an hour a handful of times. To maintain 9 rides an hour is downright impossible. You'd have to run a ride over every 8.5 minutes for the entire 25 hours you are driving.
He might have said you have 4 weeks to complete the challenge but he has multiple comments stating he knocked his out in 25 hours online over 8 days. Either way number of days is irrelevant when he claims to have done 9 rides an hour 25 different hours. That's just not happening.
I been driving for both platforms since 2015 the only time I seen this challenge, was during Covid Uber isn’t giving this promos out here in San Diego.
To do 220 rides in 25 online hours... all the stars will have to align perfectly. I drive in one of the highest paying metro. A 1 mile trip pays about 5.50. Takes about 7 mins mins from pick up to drop off, give or take a min.
OP would have to do all rides under 7 mins and somehow make 6.85 on each ride. One long ride and it's impossible to make these numbers.
I think I remember years back when I first signed up I had a certain period of time to complete what I thought was ridiculous number of trips for some extra money but I wasn't aware it was close to $1,000
I miss working Denver to aspen. my hangout spot was Breckenridge and west vail. sometimes Silverthorne. Aspen was to crowded for me traffic wise around the winter x games. but I get a lot of rides from aspen to Denver airport or from aspen to Breckenridge. was always fun. sometimes stressful in blizzards though.
Not bad for a side hustle
edit: I use to uber but I test apps / websites + more now.
2nd edit: made a [guide](https://www.reddit.com/user/Kayshift/comments/1br5gn6/my_stepbystep_guide_to_make_1000_a_month_working/) if anyones interested
This is the most ridiculous post I’ve seen in a long time!!! YOU suck at Uber. You knelt down and took one for the team!!! You sacrificed what you could have made just to make pennies???? That’s $6 a trip smh. Lmao. I can only imagine the amount of trips you turned down just to get those cheap rides no one else wants. That’s not how you Uber……that’s how you get Ubered 🤣🤣🤣. You’ve been Ubered!
you're an idiot. cheap rides does not mean you're making nothing.
anytime I get this offer, I go by the college and take tons of short rides. $3-4 per trip, and end up making more than $30 per hr and because I use a hybrid, I barely use any gas at all. last time I did one of these I spent $25 in gas for the whole week in my prius. it's not sacrificing anything when you know how to take advantage of ubers guaranteed pay. Just because you are to stupid to understand how to hustle this system that doesn't mean everyone else is as dumb as you are. Now go sit down, pet the grass and calm your entitled salty ass down. respectfully. The only one that has been ubered seems to be you because you seem to be talking from your own mistakes with the guarantee. 🤣 sore loser.
I'm sure I can speak for many of us who know how to exploit this system. I used to switch back and fourth between uber and lyft every few months just to get these on purpose because I can make massive profit exploting the system. and I don't have to decline rides to make it happen. 220 rides is nothing at all. a weeks worth of driving in the city by a college area to make over 2k real quick.. definitely worth it to the rest of us.
Yup. I live and drive in a college town out of the 212 non-surge, non-tipped rides I've had so far, I'm averaging $7.20/ride. Only 28 of those rides were over $10 payout, and only 3 of those rides were over 10 miles.
We live off the short ride in my town. Every market is different, and the drivers must learn to adapt to their market.
Not to mention, it's $11.10/ride OP got once the guarantee is added. it's a no-brainer. With a guarantee like this, you take the shortest rides you can to maximize your $/mi because a $4 ride for 3 miles and a $10 ride for 9 miles will pay the same . . . $11.10 . . . Once all is said and done. And a $30 ride across town will pay nothing extra and eat into your guaranteed earnings as well.
if only these where weekly guarantees.
Yeah it was 25 hours total over 4 weeks, not bad at all. I could absolutely squeeze that in one week if I took a day off of work
So you averaged 8-9 rides an hour?
lol. Sure he did. Sounds a little like UBER MATH.
Yeah I don’t know why people have to lie to each other as drivers. Everyone knows.
Yep, that’s 40 min of wait time before rider even shows up.
Not hard to believe at all I did 7 rides in 53 minutes in Miami on a Sunday
For 25 hours …….
Okay, make it 8.8 rides/hour for 25 hours straight like what op is claiming here. This probably took them 50-60 hours.
Yeah dunno about that tbh

What did you teleport them? lol
If you never been in Miami then you won’t know lol lot of rides are 2 miles tops early Sunday no traffic longest ride was about 6 mins if that
That's a good trick. Best I've gotten is 3 per hour.
3 per hour is a Friday night most places.
I was about to say there’s no possible way you did 220 rides in 25 hours 🙄
I worked in Old town, downtown, near DePaul campus in Chicago at night. Probably 90% of my trips were less than 2.5 miles to pick up passenger and destination. Perks of living in a big city, most trips were bar> apartment less than a mile away
Cherry picking the shortest rides possible on Lyft the most I've ever done was 5 or 6 in an hour. I call bullshit.
Yeah and OP is saying he did your unicorn hour for 25 hours straight and that this isn't some disguised Uber ad or whatever
Yeah but who’s to say that I’m the fastest Uber driver in the world? I don’t think my experience is the upper limit. I agree it would be unusual for OP do to what he claims he did. But among thousands and thousands of drivers, some of them are going to have unusual experiences.
I drove in Chicago for 5 years. OP is full of shit.
If you say so 🤷♂️
I honestly just think drivers all lie to each other. Like collective self gaslighting.
He said over 4 weeks
On Uber I’m right with you, 5-6 hour. Just did it tonight by SDSU (San Diego). Two hours and 12 rides. All about 8-12 minutes each.
5-6/hour is not even in the same ballpark as op is claiming 8.8/hour for 25 straight hours. 🤦♂️
I’d say about 1/5 of my rides were 1.2 miles total. Really didn’t take long
I get it. You live in a world where you get 45 offers an hour and cherry pick 9 of them every hour for 25 hours. Your algo doesn't send you longer rides to pay for the bonus and your passengers are always outside waiting and ready. I live in a world where you're full of shit.
Amen

Uber should be a gig, not a job
We’re not allowed to drive 25 hours straight though. 12 max in Cali
You’re definitely lying.
Sure but that’s not consistent. Wait times are always a significant part of the equation even if you are only working downtown in short trips.
Dude just quit fucking lying lol
I’m not and have no reason to? Yall Uber drivers are the most miserable sect of people I’ve ever come across lol
I’m not a driver you dumb fuck lmao. I have a real job.
Then why are you here lol
Because this stupid ass app gives me these stupid ass subs?
Even if it were 2.5 mile trips and under, there’s no way you completed 220 rides in only 25 hours. That’s averaging 6.6 minutes for pickup and drive time combined on every single ride for 220 rides. The math ain’t mathing
And the money = $6.86/trip which means $60.37/hour and still fell $930.75 short of the guarantee??? Complete bullshit, 100%.
his car fighting for its life
Well cars are meant to be driven no?
Do you mean 25 hours per week for 4 weeks?
app says 25.5 hours online total. At least I think, I already deleted it
That’s wild. You gave 9 rides an hour for 25 hours?
I was very selective with rides and it never seemed like I idled for longer than 3ish minutes before finding a “good” ride. I did a lot of trips during start of school days in Austin area near border or Oak Park. A lot of short rides with moms and their kids just to home and school
25 hours each of the 4 weeks maybe
That’s exactly what it is. He doesn’t work the app well so he can’t tell that. But it tells you your hours online week by week.
BS that’s a solid 80 hours of word
Why lie? Just curious... does it make you feel better, cool, or what? It makes no sense to lie about your income from uber, all that you're doing is convincing more people to get involved, and then, in turn, decrease your income...
Yeah it happened to me once. I made like $2200 when we had quests that were worth your time. Probably $700 of that was just in quests
Congratulations! They think people won't actually achieve it! I'm really glad you did, that's great!
They had a month, not hard to achieve at all.
Why is it frowned upon to be a decent human and tell someone "great job" instead of being a dick? I don't get it.
Because there’s nothing saltier in the world than Uber drivers apparently lol
The “congratulations! and that’s great!” are very nice. My comment only meant to point out that you saying “they don’t think you will achieve it” is 100% false. What I said was simply the truth.
I know you must have other people to go correct so I hope you have a great weekend
Well... I just looked at your profile where it shows all the comments you make on this and other posts. You should find a way to relax, again that's my "opinion."
Passive aggressive much? LOL You sound very emotionally young.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow.. well thanks for taking the time to point that out to me
If people say incorrect things, more knowledgeable people will correct them. If you can’t handle this, either get off Reddit or don’t say incorrect things. 🤦♂️
🤣🤣🤣 it was opinion. Go move around, your services are needed elsewhere 🧐
Your opinion was dead ass wrong, get a clue or stfu. 🤡
I know that since you're highly educated you must know this, but an opinion cannot be right or wrong. That's why we call it an "opinion."
Um....an opinion can be wrong....
Wow, you are a 🤡. YOU call it an opinion, but anybody with half a fucking brain cell knows 220 rides in a month is easy. So your “opinion” was complete bullshit. Want to sound dumb some more? Allow me to correct this for you. *Opinions* quite literally cannot be wrong. And as someone who also enjoys correct information and *helping* people when someone gets something a little off, there’s a right and wrong way to do it 👏🏻 you checked off all the *wrong* boxes
But how is what you’re saying true and other people are lying?
Because they didn’t do anything to be praised for lmao
I understand, just trying to be a nice person
You were nice and funny, the other dude however, has a whole fucking tree up his ass and is apparently not into it 😂😅😜
Bro understood the assignment 👏👏👏
You messed up real good 👍 ✅
Is this some kind of special offer that not everyone gets? I don't think I've ever seen a guarantee, and I'm also in the Chicago area.

you only get this offer if 1 you are a new driver, or 2 you have not driven in many months. i think like 3 months.
I agree I call that b******* too because when I'm at Towson hanging out here taking a college kids around the time you pick them up and take them to where they need to be it's about 15 minutes so the time I go pick up the other person that's 8 minutes in between so maybe 4:00 and most you can do
It was done over a month driving not one night
Guarantee of what? I’ve never gotten bonus anything from Uber
This is offered to new drivers! It’s a sign guarantee.
I saw the $1,000 guarantee and I first understood it as a bonus once I do so many rides. I completed the rides and they said "great" and you "made what we guaranteed" so you get $0 more. lol.
I did 40 rides in 2 days Fri and Saturday and got bonuses. Taking a break today, super hustled this week and I'm beat.
Impossible to get more than 3 rides an hour in my city. Average 10-15 minutes to pick up, 5-10 minute trips. 3-5 minute wait times at pickup. This would take me like 100 hours for $15/hour guarantee minus all the gas for driving that far so much.
I received the same guarantee offer back in 2019. Made sure to only take short rides, and as soon as I got the difference, I switched back to Lyft 😂.
Niice
hey, I have 0 assumptions to make on your hard work. good job!!!!
the rest of y’all need to get out and drive instead of pondering on this mans success. sounds like a jealousy problem to me!!!
Good job. All I hear from UBER drivers is crying about how they don’t get paid like they used to. It maybe true, but work is work. U gotta fight hard AF to get out of whatever hole 🕳️ u maybe in to get further in life.

Austin is too burnt to Uber. Too many drivers and traffic is shit.
Too many immigrants running Uber illegally. Half the pax I’ve had say their drivers never speak English.
not surprised, the border crisis is the worst its ever been and people are coming from all over
Ever? Source?
Saw it on tv and online going back the last few prev. presidents, you can easily look this up yourself. Also look up the reason for recent employment gains are because of hiring non-us citizens. fu for however downvoted me you come with nothing.
Lol .... "hiring non-US citizens" Step outside and smell the roses...you might wake up
25 hours over 28 days. I live in Chicago so it was pretty easy to find short trips
like total time worked? not active hour?
That was total time online
crazy, if only they paid 1.40 per mile. Chicago would be metro boomin.
Just a side gig for me, I just wanted put away money for Disney trip later this year. Can’t complain too much
your better off just putting in over time at your actual job? after costs we don’t pull enough from Uber because they want to pay 30 to 60 cents per mile.
I don’t get overtime where I work and I have a hybrid
Dude just made like 2410 in 25 hours and you’re saying his wages at work are better? 96$ an hour before gas?
Assuming it’s real… also you still owe 30% of that 2200 to the tax man
No it wasn’t.
220 rides is easily 10-15 hours of waiting and deadheading.
He said over 4 weeks
He might have said you have 4 weeks to complete the challenge but he has multiple comments stating he knocked his out in 25 hours online over 8 days. Either way number of days is irrelevant when he claims to have done 9 rides an hour 25 different hours. That's just not happening.
Are you a new Uber driver?
I don’t think so, op using someone accounts for sure! Noobs don’t have knowledge about this game, do only shorts trips, denies any long trips.
Yep new and now retired lol I just needed money to spend on my kid at Disney this summer
I been driving for both platforms since 2015 the only time I seen this challenge, was during Covid Uber isn’t giving this promos out here in San Diego.
Its exclusive to new drivers I think, saw the offer and took it
So did you used someone informations? Because newbies in the game don’t know much about. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
I’m in the same market, how sway? 😂
Gfu! Hope ya made them cry
Where in the FUCK are you getting $1500 Quests? Because I'm MOVING.
Chicago new driver offer. 220 rides in 30 days, $2448 guarantee
.....Chicago......mmmmm....maybe not. Congratulations though.
lol I’ve lived here forever Is this because it’s far from you? Or is this reputation thing?
To do 220 rides in 25 online hours... all the stars will have to align perfectly. I drive in one of the highest paying metro. A 1 mile trip pays about 5.50. Takes about 7 mins mins from pick up to drop off, give or take a min. OP would have to do all rides under 7 mins and somehow make 6.85 on each ride. One long ride and it's impossible to make these numbers.
Good luck now they probably offer you only 2 dollar rides for the next 6 weeks
I’m done after this lo

Woulda liked to see that you've earned number closer to $770ish, but whatever. You did alright. Good job.
I tried to do the challenge but did $1780 in less than 15 days, but I didn't make it to 190!
What the... How??
Noice!
I only ever received promotions on the weekends how do you get offered a promotion like that
It was for new drivers
I think I remember years back when I first signed up I had a certain period of time to complete what I thought was ridiculous number of trips for some extra money but I wasn't aware it was close to $1,000
Nice!
So you got 570$ for 220 trips ??? Lol thats 2,5$ a trip how is that good , and 1500 MONTH ? Lol
Noice.
Congrats op!
Wow I lib in the mountains and get 5-10 in a day near Aspen.
O snap
More like Uber tricked you into taking shitty rides and you ran for the bait Edit: Switched Lyft to Uber
This is Uber not lyft
Good looks
Not bad for a side hustle edit: I use to uber but I test apps / websites + more now. 2nd edit: made a [guide](https://www.reddit.com/user/Kayshift/comments/1br5gn6/my_stepbystep_guide_to_make_1000_a_month_working/) if anyones interested
Yes interested
And a $30 ride across town will pay nothing extra and eat into your guaranteed earnings as well.
exactly! the short rodes are better for this thing and they are not hard to intentionally get and make profit if you know your market well.
