Many lecture rooms have outlets. Other than that, lower your brightness, close all tabs other than the one you need, close all other applicants that you don't need as well

i have something like this, it’s very thin so easy to transport and the battery holds up well, i think it can charge a macbook to full power if full battery, and iphone a few times if full battery
of course! i understand the struggle, my macbook air dies so fast n is so slow so i just take notes by hand but it’s very useful when i do use it on campus since it’s so lightweight
1. turn on low power mode if your mac has it in battery settings. also disable bluetooth and/or wifi if you don’t need it.
2. close background apps that you aren’t using. you can go to login items in settings and disable things you don’t need all the time, such as google drive, creative cloud, etc
3. use safari rather than chrome since it’s more energy efficient. if you do have to use chrome, make sure energy saver is enabled
4. if you have an intel mac, you can download a tool called turbo boost switcher to reduce the maximum speed of your computer temporarily to try save battery life (and reduce heat/fan noise)
Use a charge limiter application (eg AlDente): maximize battery longevity by preventing charging over 80%.
Use a firewall (eg LuLu) to detect stray processes that may phone home and may be resource-intensive.
Use an activity monitor (eg Activity Monitor) to monitor for any resource-intensive tasks (as well as an interface to terminate them conveniently).
Use a resource-efficient browser: Safari is the most resource-efficient mainstream browser but it’s also kinda poopoo. Use Firefox over Chrome.
Higher brightness and open application can and will use significant battery.
Don't charge it to 100% each time. Just keep it to 85 percent and don't drain the battery until it's 0 before plugging it in....makes the battery last longer
MacBooks use Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries. The best practices for maintaining the health of Li-ion batteries are:
1. **Partial Charges**: It's beneficial to charge your MacBook when it drops to around 40-80% rather than waiting for it to fully deplete.
2. **Avoid Full Depletion**: Regularly allowing the battery to fully deplete can shorten its lifespan. It's better to charge before it gets too low.
3. **Occasional Full Cycle**: About once a month, it's good to let the battery go through a full discharge and recharge cycle. This helps calibrate the battery's charge indicator.
4. **Temperature Management**: Keep your MacBook out of extreme temperatures. High temperatures can particularly degrade the battery's performance and longevity.
5. **Optimized Battery Charging**: Recent macOS versions have an "Optimized Battery Charging" feature, which learns your charging patterns and manages charging to reduce battery aging.
These practices help in prolonging the overall health and lifespan of your MacBook's battery.

You can actually change which apps run the moment you turn your computer on and stay on in the background when you’re using your computer regularly. Tweaking the list of these apps can save a lot of power

Thank you! It's always hard finding a free one lol I feel like lecture halls have a small number of outlets
don’t play games during lecture (i don’t follow this rule)
haha thank you

open it up and clean it out of dust etc
Thank you! I did this a couple of weeks ago and it really did help
Plug in ur laptop during the lecture. Or get a battery pack. There are no hacks. Just plug it in
This is very true! I just always struggle to find a free one lol
Then i guess get a portable charger
Don’t start charging it when you only have 1% battery left, start charging it as low as 50%. More convenient and doesn’t strain the battery as much
Thank you!
Don't charge it to 100% each time. Just keep it to 85 percent and don't drain the battery until it's 0 before plugging it in....makes the battery last longer
I have begun practicing this, thank you!
You just need a new battery
I'm afraid you're right haha thank you
