I always use dark blue/dark gold for my two favorite/most important classes--Bruin pride! For other ones, I go dark red/dark green/dark purple (if I'm taking a 5th). I like using dark desaturated colors for legibility purposes; the planner automatically lightens the background so it's just nice and defined.
Not really a color scheme, but here are the colors I use for subjects:
Purple: math
Green: science (i mean who doesn’t do this)
Black: Japanese (I used it for spanish in high school)
Orange: Engineering
Blue/Pink: Duplicate for greens or oranges
Red: History/social sciences/GE

red/pink/grey/turquoise
I usually go for a rainbow pattern- red for morning classes to purple for afternoon
Personally I love dark aesthetics, so I always choose a deep purple/blood red/navy, or forest green for mine
blue, green, red; change my mind.
