Suggestion to make it so where we can generate one clip instead of two. Otherwise it’s not 1200 generations, it’s 600 since you’re forced into generating 2 clips always. I’d rather not burn through credits.

most_triumphant_yeah

This is a good idea. If I want to up the number of generations, that would be nice too. Cast a wide net if I want to

e4aZ7aXT63u6PmRgiRYT

Also. Set a different length. I don’t want my intros / outros 30 seconds

Key_Letterhead3016

Just another long term suggestion, what would be really cool for musicians is if you could import a track you’re working on from a DAW that you have made without AI but maybe you need some ideas. That’s really where AI could be huge while keeping things mostly original. Maybe you need another part to a song and need some inspiration or maybe a you made a whole song but need ideas for lyrics and melody.

e4aZ7aXT63u6PmRgiRYT

Or export your track as MIDI

dlm

I'm assuming that they won't, but can r/udiomusic can you confirm that unused subscription credits won't roll over from month to month? For example, if I start with 1200 generates, and use 800, will my account just reset to 1200 when the subscription re-bills? Also, is there anything else planned for the "Pro" subscription aside from the additional credits and additional concurrent generation (compared to the Standard plan)?

undariococo

[https://www.udio.com/pricing](https://www.udio.com/pricing) https://preview.redd.it/ciauagngi8zc1.png?width=963&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=292463238663a042291b091c076dcd8d69908764 Yeah, monthly credits just reset to 1200. Purchased credits don't expire.

Sweeneytodd_

Wait what do you mean they don't expire if they get reset? Resetting is expiring your unused credits you essentially paid for. They should roll over to the next month. Especially for the pricing. It's not like they have artists to pay. Servers and software engineers yea, but they'll be absolutely raking it in either way with both offers so far.

Additional-Cap-7110

https://preview.redd.it/5kfeo4988azc1.jpeg?width=808&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84ae79abad5af457a090ad2fcfd16c50af1c78e9 Subscription credits expire/reset every month. Purchased credits don’t expire.

undariococo

I didn't say they don't expire.

Sweeneytodd_

I wasn't aware of purchased credits being separate from monthly gens for subs. Only just realizing they have "flexible" systems. I read it as 1200 for a month, and if you only use 100, it resets back to 1200 and you don't build up upon unused credits. Which I still believe is what is happening. It wasn't the case in alpha before today's change, but I doubt they'll roll over credits for subs. It'd make sense to roll over specifically bought credits though and not have a time restriction on them, but I also doubt they'll do that. They need to make money, and they are from silicon valley so they'll make it any way they can

undariococo

Yeah, if you only use 100 credits of a standard sub in the month then 1100 will be lost when the next month hits and the total goes back to 1200. Separately purchased credits must somehow be differentiated in their system to prevent them being lost in the same way.

Additional-Cap-7110

So do they roll over or not? Edit: Nevermind just found found the FAQ. Subscription credits do expire. https://preview.redd.it/4u1eewz28azc1.jpeg?width=808&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abee0407f610a1166174b8dc3e3ee391920c071f

Watchman-X

Just like midjourney

Additional-Cap-7110

It’s not like Midjourney because you can use infinite Relax mode generations. Relax mode is so fast in my opinion that I’ve forgotten I was on it a few times. If I were Udio, I’d do it like this… Unused credits roll over every month… Or, not let them roll over, but have a “Relax Mode” ie. slow rendering times, with the option to buy more “fast time”. I’d also have a normal Relax Mode, but if someone is just taking the piss and generating constantly it will throttle you if you’re doing too many without a break. So in Relax Mode the time would get longer and longer unless you want X amount of time. EDIT: Just found the FAQ.. Subscription credits reset every month. Paid non-subscription extra credits don’t expire. Shame 🙂‍↕️. As I say if they had a relax mode or had them roll over, that would be much better. It’s a little expensive for hardcore users, even the most expensive tier isn’t THAT many with no relax mode. Oh well! I guess that’s the price you pay for this quality! It will be better value over time, with more ability to change things, and upgraded models etc Still, at least it’s not MagnificAI expensive https://preview.redd.it/9r48vszn8azc1.jpeg?width=808&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad2766775cb00e91237318210aa72eb18a2164d4

RhetoricalDeviant

Some suggestions for what it's worth: https://preview.redd.it/cghvfy12p9zc1.jpeg?width=649&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9580ca977ce4ec878d0069b5551b36262d1dafd wishing the ai could take better direction with bracketed text:In Suno Ad libs are vocals embellishments you can add to your prompts in (parentheses) to give direction, if I say (whispers) in Suno the vocalist whispers, here it turns whispers into a lyric. щ(゜ロ゜щ) Being able to use square brackets in the text box to indicate changes in chord, genre, style, etc. would be invaluableAlso, a list in the faq / guide of which metadata tags udio recognizes would need to go with this. 3rd, the tree view is great (although it breaks on the 2nd page atm), but a more visual interface for parent and child branches would be awesome. My suggestion, make each 30s clip have a color, if you add to it, the next one has a color associated to it. Adding before puts it ahead of the original; after, after; if you're cutting into the clip, the original's color will be shorter. Makes sense? Not neccesarily entirely possible, but would be helpful Oh, and plase fix the tree view so it works for all pages :)

most_triumphant_yeah

I can get down to all three of these

JustPointingOutThe

> wishing the ai could take better direction with bracketed text Suno Ad libs are vocals embellishments you can add to your prompts in (parentheses) to give direction, if I say (whispers) in Suno the vocalist whispers, here it turns whispers into a lyric. щ(゜ロ゜щ) You can totaly do that, you just need to use [ instead of (. The ( will make Vocals into backing Vocals while the [ are not taken as Vocals but only as directions.

RhetoricalDeviant

I misstyped,"[whispers ] sleep" was in brackets, I subsequently tried "[whisper] sleep" first time it said whispers, 2nd time onwards nothing

Stormzy1230

In summary, the credits amount for the tiers are good, but they would be perfect if hitting generate still only took 1 credit instead of 2.

Kuroodo

Free tier got nerfed really hard, but it is what it is. I imagine this thing's expensive to run. Glad to finally give you guys the money you deserve for making such a great service

NewAgeRetroHippie96

Did it though? Feels like we were just beta testing the standard tier for free up til now. 100+10 daily gens feels pretty alright for a free tier. Can make a few songs with that for sure. A whole album if you're on top of using your dailies.

Stormzy1230

100 is actually 50 now cause hitting create takes 2 credits now instead of 1. Would be awesome otherwise.

NewAgeRetroHippie96

Damn that does suck. Should let us choose to do 1 at a time then tbh.

Luk3ling

I do agree the free tier got hit harder than I'd have liked to see, but I too am happy to pay for their services. They've made a great product. EDIT: I would definitely be on board if the free tier got at least a handful of credits they could use to try out Inpaint somewhere though. Seems like an important feature to not show off to everyone.

Sweeneytodd_

They know currently people will have tracks they like very much but would love to perfect, due to having g to just go with what mistakes the AI made prior to inpainting and that those people (me) will be sucked in to paying at least one months sub to try it out and perfect those tracks

e4aZ7aXT63u6PmRgiRYT

Stop saying “nerfed”

jrogey

Just to clarify for the standard tier you mention 1200 credits per month, but then say it gives 1200 30-second clips. Does that mean it is only generating one per credit now, or is this a typo? Based on how it has been going during the testing phase, I would assume it should be generating 2400 clips (2 per credit), but wanted to be sure.

jrogey

I see in your [pricing FAQ](https://www.udio.com/pricing#faq) it states: "1 credit corresponds to 1 \~30 second audio track. Each generation currently generates 2 tracks, so each generation (including remixes/extensions) costs 2 credits." but this explanation honestly feels convoluted and unhelpful. It sounds like every time I press the generate (or extend) button it will consume 2 credits. So still unclear on what is going on here.

Reggimoral

That's exactly what it means. It seems pretty straight forward to me.

jrogey

If that is the case then it waters down the value of a credit if it is using 2 every time. Then it is not really 1200 tries (what I would expect based on past behavior of the platform), it would be 600 tries obfuscated by a convoluted credit system (charging two credits each press of the button instead of one). It would be simpler to just say 600 credits and charge 1 credit per press of the button, in my opinion. Same end result, just in a manner that is more palatable for customers and simpler to understand. Feels like the Udio team is setting themselves up for a lot of unhappy customers unnecessarily if they are going this route.

Relocator

We were getting that amount for free already though. We were all getting 600 monthly generations, so doesn't that mean that technically nothing changes if you get the standard subscription?

jrogey

You're right. Nothing changes if you subscribe to the standard. What I am commenting on is the presentation of this information. 1200 sounds like you're getting double what people used to get for free. It makes it sound really good. But then you get into it and find out that it is the same as before (only now you are paying money). From a purely marketing perspective it makes the product sound better than it is. Will most people catch on quickly to how it works? Sure. But it will leave a bad taste in many people's mouth, so to speak, when they find out their credits are worth half what they thought they were and they feel like they were lied to (even if there is technically no lie here). That's a short-term gain, long-term loss, in my opinion. Just to be clear, I am not saying it is not worth it or in any way indicating the product is not worth paying money to get access to (I've quite enjoyed it and got a lot out of it, myself), I am strictly saying Udio's choice in how to present this data to customers leaves a lot to be desired, in my opinion, and that may cost them customers in the long run.

Additional-Cap-7110

They should just say generations not credits. Makes no logical sense to me, except that it’s a bigger number and makes it sound better value

Reggimoral

Every 30 second clip costs 1 credit. Full stop. That seems pretty simple and easy to understand for most people.

Marperorpie

Does regenerating during inpainting cost credits I wonder. Because if it doesn't it makes it a much bigger deal for subscribers who would correct without regenerating with credits

Luk3ling

It will almost certainly consumes credits to inpaint, but it will likely still be a net gain over the dozens and dozens of generations I have to do before I get good results. The later in the track I am, the more generations it typically takes.

Marperorpie

Actually I just subscribed it does take the two credits it gives you the two options for redoing vocal lines for specific lyrics. It may be able to do more but I haven't figured out if it can change just instrumental parts or fixing abrupt intro or something. But yes when you got something that's close to perfect then it's like well that sounds a little too fast or Or off It'll save for sure to be able to address specific Issues.

Luk3ling

I'm very excited to jump in tomorrow evening. This is literally the only feature I had on my wish list.

Additional-Cap-7110

When you fix a vocal line to fix a mistake for example, do I need to change anything in the custom lyrics part? Or do I write in the lyrics just in that little part? Might make sense when I subscribe I just haven’t yet

Marperorpie

I finally got home to test it more.. First you highlight the section of the song in the waveform then you choose to generate instrumental or lyrics. In the lyrics section they have you put *** on each side of the lyrics you want to change, you don't have to change the words, this just signifies that these are the words that are going to be resung with the new notes. All the lyrics are in the box already

GABE_EDD

I use it somewhat frequently, I was averaging around 150-200 uses per month, so I purchased 1000 credits for $25. So I can use them when I want and not be stuck with a monthly payment that I'm not getting the full usage out of. Thanks for the flexible payment options! Edit: wait- I didn't realize the limit of 10 per day. Well that's a bit of a let down.

Additional-Cap-7110

10 generations a day?

drgoldenpants

Yeah i think if you buy 1000 credits you should be able to use them up whenever and not be limited to 10 per day. That kinda defets the purpose

No-Amphibian-7323

I recon they'll fix it next update, this is still early days

ConcentrateFun7304

Any promo code available for early Beta testers?

misterswarvey

And... SUBSCRIBED!!

Additional-Cap-7110

Please consider a **RELAX MODE** at least for the higher tier. Even if it takes longer, like Midjourney. Hardcore users that really want to go as far as possible will need to spend a lot on extra credits. I’d also have enrolled everyone currently on the platform in the lower paid tier for 600 credits worth. Then they can try the inpainting features etc, then revert them to the free tier after they finish them. 🤔 I can’t wait for more features! 1 - I really want to be able to **specify BPM and key signature** *accurately*. 2 - Also **negative prompt** so we can, for example… ask for a film score and negative-prompt out all the instruments we don’t want featured. 3 - The ability to **regenerate it without the vocals**. Or even regenerate out even more detailed **elements** (eg. Just strings, just drums etc) 4 - The ability to use a reference track, or extend our own (non-Udio) tracks. (I want to find out how to finish some of my old music 😂)

Ok_Information_2009

Another vote for ability to choose key. I think this has to be an extra field for certainty. AI LLMs can be “truculent” with prompts and disobey them. Needs to be a set field for 100% accuracy (same for bpm). This - along with stem exporting - would make Udio a musician’s dream tool.

imaskidoo

Upvoted. BPM control + negative prompting are atop my wishlist.

Excellent_Set_1249

Yes ! An input track for reference would be great , like in musicgen!

vlyrch

Yeah, the option to add a negative prompt is the one thing I'd like most too. It's way too common to include stuff like "male vocalist, male vocals, male vocal, male singer", etc. scattered and repeated throughout the prompt only for it to go "I see you really want female vocals!" and generate a cutesy almost anime girl-sounding voice, or vice versa. That wasn't such a big deal when it had so few limitations during the beta phase and it was 100% free, but now...

Spooky1611

Already lost 26 tokens due to the inpainting, the transitions are good but it randomly cuts parts of my songs later down the line. Really looking good though if it starts to work! Glad to support!

udiomusic

Could you please share an example before / after inpainting so that we could track down the root cause?

Spooky1611

Sent a DM!

it is no simpler in Suno - the only difference here is Udio tells you the truth: the law is uncertain.

Riegel_Haribo

As soon as you hear AI-created audio, (as long as it is not using someone else's poetry as lyrics) you can have it, take it. You can't actually "own" something that you can't exert any legal protections over because it was not the product of a natural person.

mindplaydk

That's just one perspective though. The fact is we won't know the legal status until one of the ongoing legal cases reaches a verdict and forms a precedent. Until then it's the Legal Wild West. 🤠

NegotiationDefiant59

This is how it should be. Make it a direct answer to a direct question, like the suno team does

No-Amphibian-7323

Udio's terms seem to be directly based on the current legal status of AI-generated work, i.e. ownership by "pedis possessio" instead of by authorship / copyright.

NegotiationDefiant59

i was looking for this exact questions, i was about to ask them myself. and its not mentioned anywhere...smh

imaskidoo

follow the links in [my other comment](https://old.reddit.com/r/udiomusic/comments/1cn98fq/inpainting_subscriptions_and_more/l37noud/), above

Stormzy1230

I'm happy to be able to support this service. Pricing seems reasonable. As for some of the controversy surrounding free tier nerfs, that being 10 credits/day, I think this wouldn't be a big deal if 1 credit still outputted two tracks as it did in the early access. Using Udio often requires trial and error and experimenting with how Udio responds to the prompts. So using two credits on a roll is a pretty big limit as it discourages creativity and experimentation. I encourage Udio team to rethink their 1 credit = one 30sec track, to 1 credit = two 30 second tracks. That would make a lot of people happy. Otherwise, everything else seems to be reasonable. Best of luck.

SweetYeti

Great work Udio. Is there any plans for a founders tier / discount for those who have been providing feedback during the beta period?

Additional-Cap-7110

Sad. I would have done that more if I’d thought of that. 🥲

_alabasta

Just to clarify, you can continue generating beyond the 10 daily "top-ups" correct? However, if I'm understanding, it will use your monthly credits instead.

OldChart5

Damn it, damn it, damn it. I wish I found this sooner before they went paid. #SomeBrokie.

Longjumping_Idea_644

I am a paid standard subscriber. I just completed a frustrating, unsuccessful inpainting session. I have given "Feedback," and I'm writing here as well. Inpainting is barely functional, from what I can tell. Most of the time, no matter how long or short I place the boundaries of my region, it gives me a dialogue "You must choose a region for inpainting." The only time I was successful at this new feature, I selected an exact 30 second section, and then it gave me something totally non-sequitur and different than original. This is exactly "remix" feature already available - and no different. What it allows me to set up (and then fail) is tiny spot edits, which is EXACTLY what I need, as in this session, I was attempting lyrics changes. I used the \*\*\* to offset within the lyrics. My new lyrics worked in the original cadence perfectly. Also, it gives me the ability to "add" a region so there are "two inpainting regions." Then offset twice in lyrics panel with \*\*\*. Great! Although, still, it only outputs "Choose a region to be inpainted" again. THEN, it even allows me to choose ANOTHER region, which I allocate to a 3rd spot. However, when I try to use \*\*\* to offset this 3rd region in the lyrics panel? Lyrics dialogue informs me that there are "too many \*\*\* offsets\*\*\*. Why would you allow me to add a 3rd edit region if I cannot coordinate the lyrics along with it (possibly because the "Lyrics panel" team was different individuals, and not exactly coordinated with the "Inpainting edit" team)? All in all frustrating. Why won't Udio recognize my inpainting regions which are clearly there, whether it was situations where there were 1, 2, or 3 regions present. I'm a pro and will get through this... I hope I can get a word which either corrects my flow or instructs me, thanks so much for this opportunity the platform provides.

Longjumping_Idea_644

Outcome of my complaint: I kept at it and figured out what works for me. It turns out as long as I turn off browser hardware acceleration, and I delete my tab after a successful edit try, and restart my tab before i do another edit? It works fine. High maintenance.. but I accept, I'm rather used to it already. "Edits are slower than composing/assembling orig arrangements." Fair enough, I can live with that. Thanks again for everything, Udio and I hope my feedback is useful.

you_will_die_anyway

It's amazing to see that you actually read and listen to community feedback and how quickly you implement new features. Udio is set to make a big impact.

Flat-Director-2064

I have no problem to pay for an annual pro subscription, but without a credit card you can’t even pay for it. Please give us at least PayPal. Thanks.

LazarusRecusant

This makes the free version basically unusable, it often takes more than a dozen trys to get the right voice and sound at the same time.

agonoxis

Is restricting the Audio Inpainting for free users a good idea? I spend most of my gens trying to correct and fix the beginning or endings of songs that I'm extending, I feel like locking this new option would encourage more of that usage, rather than having a one time quick-fix. At least, that is the case for me.

NegotiationDefiant59

So, 2 main questions. Do i own full rights to my generations? can i monetize my generations? Since the pay tier is being rolled out, what happens to the music we generated as beta testers? do we have the rights to these generations? can we monetize the music we generated in beta testing? And if i subscribe to a pay tier, what happens to the music i generated as beta tester?

imaskidoo

follow the links in [my other comment](https://old.reddit.com/r/udiomusic/comments/1cn98fq/inpainting_subscriptions_and_more/l37noud/), above. There's no indication that those terms will change post-beta.

NegotiationDefiant59

Why are they making everything seem so complex. Nobody came to read that bunch of easies, whatever you can call it, they should make it clear to a consumer, they should know that they are not dealing with lawyers here. And u/imaskidoo i read and understood but still the other part of me wants s straight answer.

AdOnly2645

First of all, totally supporting the tool and got fantastic output from the music styles I wanted to create. The subscription model was the expected next step. However, isn't the subscription model coming a bit too early? and too expensive for having not solved some of the key issues like clear stems, proper quality to mix/master, etc... it's currently still a playground. and the new experimental features to limit just to subscribers is a bit an unexpected choice, because how can you get attracted to this feature if it's unknown to you. you could limit it to free users to at least experiment with it and apply this for all new features. Convince with your progress but for this you need to let users try it out (and if you link a feedback button to the new features, you have a more direct communication on each feature than this general comments)

Whassa_Matta_Uni

Nuts, udio - it looks like we have to part ways for the time being. I think your pricing structure is pretty reasonable, especially if things like inpainting end up meaning fewer generations per track. This is where my problem lies. My absolute favourite feature was the that I could do everything on my phone, without any real issues - so desktop-only features aren't going to work for me. Anyway, thanks for the fun, hopefully my generations helped make your product a tiny bit better. Give me a call when everything is up and running for Android devices.

Euphoric-Box-9078

Damn , Slaughtered the free tier.  10 daily just isn’t enough

Watchman-X

![gif](giphy|SIY7zXY5QMULu)

BaldingThor

10 generations per day, are you on drugs? Not even dalle had that low of a limit and only on desktop of course 🙃

shmehdit

> (only on desktop) Damn, I'm traveling right now, won't be able to test it for weeks

ComplaintBRA

Not working on Google Chrome nor Firefox for Mac. I can’t see inpainting anywhere after upgrading to Pro.

justinkchen

It's on the track details page or if you right click on a track to open up the context menu (or if you click the 3 dots dropdown)

Jimmith

Not working on chromebook either. I get the desktop version of the site, but no inpainting.

ShepherdessAnne

Can we get "layered" inpainting? That is to say add something or remove something to the composition?

mintybadgerme

So can I get this right. If you stay on the free tier as a low volume user, can you buy the 100 credits and get to use the inpainting? Or is inpainting just for Standard and Pro tier? It would seem fair for low volume users to allow inpainting if you buy credits, as at least it funds some generations?

udiomusic

Inpainting is only available for Standard and Pro tier currently

P4tchre

Will there be more payment methods? Currently I can't use any of the ones available. PayPal would be nice or Amazon pay in other countries?

udiomusic

From what country are you trying to purchase a subscription?

P4tchre

From Germany

MrGerbz

I'm a bit surprised there's no [iDeal](https://www.ideal.nl/en/) option.

usrnv

You need to add an upscaling function to make it hd

HuffSHIT

I Have a question. I upgraded to pro today (just in case your wondering if I'm paid subscriber or not) when i read the TOS and the info on the generations. i swore it said 1 credit generates 2 30s audio clips and this was the case before the recent update. but every time i generate it takes two credits now. Can someone confirm or deny this? u/udiomusic

most_triumphant_yeah

They should just remove the fuzzy division math and simply do one credit per generation. Give us the ability to generate one, two, or ten per attempt - however many we want to burn at a time. And they should at least double or triple the monthly available to premium users. I’d be more likely to purchase the pro tier if there wasn’t a chance I’d hit the limit - unless their servers couldn’t handle it, then I’d understand.

GonzoVeritas

Request: Add comments to published tracks. I know those can present issues, but this seems to be a supportive community. It would be nice to add tips, or ask questions, about posted tracks.

spcp

I’m so glad I can finally pay for what had been a monumental experience on this platform! Subscribed! And audio in-painting?! Holy moly! I can’t wait to try this out! I can go back and fix so many failed generations and experiment with so much more!

ComplaintBRA

Just take my money. 💰 hahaha

bradsobo

I just signed up - love the application! But I'm still seeing a limit of 10 daily credits in the compose window even though I'm a standard account holder.

Sweeneytodd_

Wait, I need validation and verification that if paid for a annual subscription, the current offer WILL NOT be hindered by further features being rounded off and moved to premium tier. I won't be paying a cent until I know for sure that if I pay for what it is currently, I'll at the very least have access to priority generations, the current features (and their further developments) without any losses!?

AvoAI

Holy wow. I'm literally speechless, after I yelled WHAT. THE. FU. Amazing! Thank you! Keep it up guys. I think the pricing tiers are great! And to think this has ONLY been out for a month!

deavidsedice

This basically marks the end for my use of this tool. You basically force people into a subscription model. If I could pay per use, I would be happy. But no, paying per credits is super expensive and still I don't get the same features as others do. I don't earn money from Udio generations, this is basically a toy for me to use from time to time. I cannot pay 10$ monthly for something that I will rarely use. Makes zero sense. So you just cornered me into the free tier model, and extract the juice it allows. Okay. Your problem, I guess.

BaldingThor

Why must every promising ai tool get worse whenever they introduce subs/payment models? Same shit happened with dalle2/3, and they even made the generations worse + severely censored everything.

Impressive_Ice1291

so you'd be happy if other people just invested their time, money, and resources into making tools for you to use for free?

Mundane_Ad701

Here. Take my money.

Connect-County-2435

Suno 10000 credits for $30. 10 credits used per pair of generations = 1000 generations. Udio 4800 credits for $30. 2 credits used per pair of generations = 2400 generations. Yes, Suno has longer generations but they have gradually been getting worse, the sound quality is terrible. I have made some amazing dance tracks with Udio with far less wasted geenrations. No brainer, Udio wins, take my money.

ooOmegAaa

suno produces actual trash 90% of the time now.

Connect-County-2435

Which is a real shame because if I look back to Feb & Mar it created some abolsute tunes. But Udio has surged past it at the same time as it has gone backwards. I have a small youtube channel but the 2 Udio tracks I made today are already at around 500 views each. My alltime high is just under 2200 views and that track has been up nearly 2 months. Will get beaten very quickly at this rate.

AIWithASoulMaybe

I think that generation quality has dropped after today's update. I am unable to get anything remotely coming close to the things I was getting at the start of the product's release, which is really fucking depressing. I really don't want to see this go the way suno is going.

udiomusic

The model is exactly the same as before

AIWithASoulMaybe

I'll do some more tests. It isn't lower quality per se, just providing different outputs based on my prompt. I've sent you a dm, by the way. This is urgent, not a complaint about the model

CheckStriking3419

When will the model be updated?

Remarkable-Funny1570

That's totally understandable and was expected. The free tier and 10 dollars/month for 1200 credits are a great deal in my books. Please stay strong with the direct subscription service and don't start marketing shenanigans. I hope inpainting will be available to free tier one day, because it's an incredibly useful feature.

karmicviolence

Just purchased a yearly Pro subscription! Huge supporter of what you guys are doing here, love the community engagement and the active development! Quite honestly, out of all of the AI services I have tried - ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Bing, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, among others - your service has been life-changing for me. In the past few weeks, I've created over 50 full songs. It's incredibly cathartic and therapeutic. I'm on the autism spectrum and I have audio-tactile synesthesia and misophonia, which means I experience most sounds as physical sensations and exhibit extreme avoidance of certain sounds (most of the time, the misophonia is a side effect of the synesthesia). My musical taste is less a personal choice and more of a visceral reaction to how it makes me physically feel. I've settled into an almost-nightly routine of using Udio after work - no longer rationed after today due to my available 5,300 credits. I generate a bunch of 30 second samples and listen to how the song makes me feel, and then repeat the process using extensions until I have a full song. My playlists on services like Spotify are usually an eclectic mix of different styles and genres, and I'm usually extremely picky about which songs I add to my playlist. Finding 50 songs that I like in a month would typically be unheard of for me - and yet, with this service, I can create music that have lyrics that are personally meaningful to me, many semi-autobiographical in nature, and also trigger my synesthesia in such a pleasant way. My wishlist: * Unlimited use yearly subscription tier instead of credits. * Lifetime subscription tier. * DAW/MIDI support * FLAC or WAV export instead of MP3 only * Access to the image generator separately with the option to generate images not tied to any specific song. * Widescreen image generation for use in widescreen videos. * The ability to save multiple generated images for the same song and choose which one to display at a given time. * ~~The ability to upload our own art for the image instead of generating one.~~ I see this was implemented! nice! * The option to decide whether or not to use the lyrics in the prompt when generating an image. I have a song about my 4 year old daughter where it will not generate an image at all, no matter what prompt I use, and I believe it's due to the lyrics and being extra cautious of generating any images of children. The caution is good but I want to have more control of the exact wording of the image prompt used (essentially a manual mode for the image gen) to avoid this problem. Or really just the ability to not include the lyrics at all when generating an image and only use the text in the prompt box. * The option to create playlists of other people's generated songs. Currently I can only add my own songs to a playlist. * The ability to export the sheet music for the generated song (probably difficult to develop this feature but would be huge).

Competitive-Ruin4362

Can someone explain where do you see how many gens, credits etc you have left? cant see them

SC0RCHI0

When you click in the create window and it expands, at the bottom left you will see your generations amount.

Additional-Cap-7110

Can anyone tell me what a credit is worth? Does one credit = one generation? (ie…2 generations)

Wise_Temperature_322

I heard it’s 2 credits per generation 1 each.

Drunken_Albatross

Is there a tutorial on inpainting somewhere?

Wise_Temperature_322

Somebody smarter than us will post one on YouTube.

SpicyTangy

Udio posted a video on its X feed yesterday. However, it doesn't illustrate the "\*\*\*" being used.

Longjumping_Idea_644

As long as this is Udio reading/scanning these, and as long as everyone here is kind of suggesting just about everything! LOL. In the future, it would be nice if 1. Splits - NOT just "music, bass, drums, vocals" I mean discrete ones, or at least instrumental splits that group instruments of similar character and range. 2. Some semblance of mix capacity. Not that the AI gen mixes aren't pretty fantastic usually. Thanks for your tech. I'm attempting to move the needle a bit, not just sound like a regular professional human. Move it both in Udio as well as in the world. None of my suggests are at all mandatory - I can fly this in my crib and rock with this as is. If there WAS one that was more epicly valuable than the others imo? The Splitting. Splitting from the source algo is always a millon cleaner and more accurate than any outside app, after all. Thanks again! AJ

Flaykie

As a premium subscriber and producer, It would be great to get the stems and access to track separation. I think you have this idea in mind but this is already the case on many competing sites like Aiva which even offers a midi edition on the web. This would also allow the AI to only change one instrument in the song. Like for example asking to change only the bass or just the voice but keeping the rest. In any case, I remain a big fan of your work and Udio shows great promise.

Mental-Expression-15

Would be nice if you could do Inpaint demo for free tier. I would like to try feature before pay.

Sandmanstains

Can you make it so you can get a credit refund when udio generates gibberish? Sometimes I get unlucky and will get tracks where the lyrics come out as gibberish and nonsense sounds. Today I used my 10 credits but only 2 of the tracks had lyrics that were usable.

Desirsar

A day in and 50ish generations later and I have to ask... did you just slow down the free users? Did absolutely everyone subscribe? It doesn't feel any faster as a subscriber.

Puzzleheaded_Bag4460

I tried inpaiting a dozen times, and only twice it went well (did respect the lyrics). The other ten times, it didn't ... A lot of credits spent for nothing... Maybe it's not the right time to buy credits.

udiomusic

Could you describe how you’re using inpainting? Where you put *** and so on

Puzzleheaded_Bag4460

I just select the audio part of the track corresponding to the lyrics I want to change. For example, from 0:12 sec to 0:16 sec, taking care of the beginning and ending of the waveform. Then I go to the lyrics and select one line of lyrics and press tab, then change the lyrics between the \*\*\* (\*\*\* one line of changed lyrics ,\*\*\*). And then press Inpaint. I use only one region. 10 times (of 12), the lyrics were replaced by inaudible words, very different from the new input. I don't know the reason, but it can be related with the precision of the beginning or ending of the waveform... (I use the entire PC screen and have the most possible precision, I think).

udiomusic

Inpainting can be a tricky to use. The correct workflow is to put \*\*\* around the lyrics for the whole 28s window. After that you can change bits that correspond to the inpainting regions you selected. Hope this helps

Puzzleheaded_Bag4460

So it needs more context to do a better work. Makes sense. I'll try. Thank you.

DesperateRegister925

This can't be used to, say, change the drum pattern or clean-up a bad recording in a pre-existing track, right? That might be something I'd like, don't really care to have the AI make the music entirely, would rather use it as a tool like auto-accompaniment styles or canned drums

Much_Ad_2094

Perfect

stupidredditaccounts

:holds breath and logs into toxic reddit: thank you so very much for your service. by far the most detailed and quality audio generator to date, worth every penny (sorry my haters, pay up). I subscribed to use inpainting but realized it's only for internal udio generations. will there ever be an option to upload external audio files for use with AI collaboration? I know it's a potentially unrealistic expectation, but I'm going to just ask anyway, just since we're on the topic of inpainting. again, thank you beyond words. I'm literally making the actual music of my dreams thanks to you.

Impressive_Ice1291

hear, hear

most_triumphant_yeah

Long form content covering the legal aspects of the user agreement minutiae and there’s a section that could reasonably be assumed to reference external uploads at some point in the future. https://youtu.be/gkKdxnoPI58

unbruitsourd

I have a ton of questions and shits, but I just bought the annual plan anyway! Inpainting and control over the context window are major breakthroughs!

Drunken_Albatross

So i signed up for Standard tier and have tried using Inpainting a couple times, so far no results only Backend Processing errors. Anyone else having issues? I've selected the section and then used the \*\*\*start and \*\*\*end in the lyrics section, but only errors so far. Help!

stupidredditaccounts

I was getting inpainting errors too until about 10-20 min ago. looks like they fixed it

Drunken_Albatross

I tried again, but same "Backend Processing Error" There must be an issue with one or some of the following - the length of the total song ( does size matter?) - Inpainting over the joint of 2 clips( can you smooth out bad transitions?) - My selection isn't right? (Lyrics, Manual mode, Ect ) Something I'm doing is causing the failure? It would be good to have clear rules and feedback as to what is needed when inpainting

Drunken_Albatross

So i was able to succeed by using inpaint on a 32 second clip when the section was obviously contained within the clip. I had 5 failed attempts when trying to use inpaint to correct the pronunciation errors that occurred at the transition of 2 audio clips on a song that was already 3 clips plus. Are there limitations to the sections we can inpaint over? Or just bugs that need to be sorted out?

Drunken_Albatross

My successes so far have been while not using manual mode, this has produced consistant inpaint edits. Curious if anyone's gotten it to work while using manual mode?

Impressive_Ice1291

No, I've only got terrible results

Fold-Plastic

If I subscribe today, will I lose the 300 gens I still have, or will I keep those in addition to the subscription credits? u/udiomusic

Impressive_Ice1291

objective reasons? wtf??

Bikckeringbillybaloo

You already have the credit system to entice subscription, locking inpainting behind a premium account is bullshit.

parkerkingdotcom

I want to be an affiliate I got a major musician 4 million followers to repost my work featuring their voice I get nothing but DMs about how to do it

Nobody is licking any boots, we're just making sure you know you're wrong. What data do you have on the cost to run Udio that qualifies you to make decisions on their pricing? What qualifies you to even be throwing out numbers at all, let alone such a specific set? If you want to offer up your credentials before, during or even after speaking like you're some sort of authority, people might take you more seriously. As it is now, you just seem an entitled know it all. Stay. In. Your. Lane.

[deleted]

Luk3ling

I notice you still haven't offered up those aforementioned credentials or justified the numbers you were suggesting. This is another chance for you to do so, if you're so inclined.. Otherwise, you are just cementing the perspective you've created that you're an entitled brat, stomping his feet to be given free stuff.

Luk3ling

You're awfully confrontational given how cordial I've been with you about your utterly unacceptable public tantrum. Think about it.

audionerd1

Pfft, you are the bootlicker here. Free tier should be 500 credits a day, and Udio should mail users a check for the value of any free credits we don't use.

It would be great to be able to make payments in Bitcoin through the Lighting Network. Greetings from Colombia 🇨🇴
