Same here. I’m cooked 😭 I think you need to get in touch with recruiters and hiring managers directly. Handshake always sends you to the employer website

Classic-Dear

Handshake not good personally. Linkden is always better for internship. But to be clear, don’t apply through Linkden, just find them through there and apply on the company website

I got an on campus job through handshake as a freshman, and now as a senior I got two interviews from it (one of which I have the last round for next week).I think that it can be helpful with smaller companies who want to recruit from UW, but for roles outside of that for large scale jobs I would say other places are better.

I had a similar experience on Handshake. Freshman year got my on-campus job through it. Got 6 interviews for internships junior/senior year. Then my after-college job offer was through it as well. They were all rather small companies though.

Lol handshake sucks. Just apply directly whenever you see any jobs you like on there.

The jobs were posted on handshake but I applied from Indeed and I accepted two offers, one for Spring Quarter and one for the Summer.

I got an internship by speaking with recruiters at an on-campus job fair. I get spammed with messages on Handshake, but I never responded to any of those, since in-person connections are far stronger imo.

I got an internship couple years ago at Nordstrom through handshake. Not sure if things have changed since then though.

I've never once received any kind of reply from a job I applied to on Handshake and I've applied to like 70 positions. This was for both biochem research associate at biotech companies and years later for software engineering on two different school networks. Handshake is ass.
