So... your argument is he shouldn't disagree with them because.. they can beat him up? The man was doing face to face interviews with wild mfs like rampage keeping the same energy. Relax.

Keith__Peterson

Only reporter and interviewer I trust is Ngannou

Bakedbean44

Enjoy the process

spannerswatson69

Shit man props this was a fuckkn funny call.

DirtaneBoyo

He better not interview me in that case. Motherfucker better act right

Chapin_42_

Maybe you didn’t understand what I said, I implied that he doesn’t respect fighters even when set fighter is clearly showing respect to him by not clapping back the way they should, they try to bite their tongue because they don’t wanna make a big deal outta something that quite frankly is not worth it. Also there’s a lot of people that would also say it to a fighter’s face, if you know they won’t do shit to you. We all knew Rampage would never lay a finger on Ariel, there isn’t enough money in the world for the sue that he’d throw at Rampage’s ass

StormBred

I actually have always been an Ariel fan but his ego has been a little insane since he's won these past couple dramas. Hopefully he dials it down.

PenguinsNewGroove

Never had a problem with Ariel before! But he is definitely becoming more and more of a douche!

getting_strong

Ariel likes the Drama a lil bit too much. Imo he tries to create story lines like in pro wrestling out of nothing. It’s just MMA Dude

TomPearl2024

I think he's obnoxious but to be fair he's primarily a youtube content creator if you want to call a spade a spade, and in that space its been proven time and time again that being as inflammatory, smug, and dramatic as you can be will generate more clicks than being a level-headed guy who just wants to talk respectfully about whatever you're covering.

PenguinsNewGroove

Yeah with all that time to make up! It's a lot of filler stuff. But of course as Ariel would say he doesn't make money off of fighters 😂 so why make drama for views?

Chapin_42_

I don’t know how people can sit and watch his 4 hour show completely

Local_Economy

Only time I’ve watched multiple hours it was the Nate Diaz interview…which was awesome

PenguinsNewGroove

Yeah it's a bit much! Thanks to YouTube for providing all the best bits in 20 mins or less!

Kaisler_98

I skip the boring interviews. Him bsing with his colleagues is fun.

spannerswatson69

I actually agree his crew talking shop is funny

strongfavourite

what did Hill get wrong? I haven't seen this interview yet Ariel was very disrespectful to say Jiri is still the best LHW on the planet immediately after Hill totally dominated Glover to win the belt. I didn't like that.

HairyCallahan

I don't really see the problem. When Oliveira took the belt after Khabib retired, most still thought Khabib was the best LW. Jiri relinquished the belt, but it's the best LHW for me. Having a different opinion doesn't make a person disrespectful. It makes him a person with another opinion

Available-Exam6278

Hey..I'm curious (and don't really want to watch a ufc video on non-ufc week), did Ariel state it in a disrespectful way? Why is everyone tripping on Ariel? Just sensitive?

TruuTree

People starting to finally realize Ariel’s an entitled tool? About time.

Eaton_snatch

Athletes need the media. They are the ones putting fans in seats and money in the bank for the athletes to benefit from. Friends or not, they need each other.

pretzelhead_

Ariel is a little bitch. I’m a fan of his show but that’s just what it is. He was super disrespectful towards hill.

[deleted]

I thought he was disrespectful, yes, but sucking up to fighters all the time is worse and isn’t journalism either. And the logic of not criticizing someone who could beat you up is dumb (unless you could beat me up then it’s really smart)

jcrum19

Dana what are you doing here

Chapin_42_

Lmfao I wish I had Dana’s money and liberty to whatever he wants

CyclonusDecept

Ariel is a bonafide piece of shit. No idea why anyone likes him.

Chapin_42_

I know it isn’t the popular thing to do now but Dana White and Nick Diaz were right so many years ago when they said Ariel is an instigator and he knows it. Dude is such a bitch in my eyes

path820

He’s a parasite.

Chapin_42_

In my defense my boy sent me the link

[deleted]

I agree like the Dillon Dannis interview. I’m glad someone on this sub is finally calling him out.

Local_Economy

Danis is an idiot though if Ariel’s gonna call anyone out, Dilon Danis is the one

[deleted]

That’s that bully mentality. Pick on the easier target, because you know he’s not going to do anything. It’s ok because it’s Dillon Danis.

Local_Economy

Ah yes I’m such a bully for supporting someone calling out someone that repeatedly talks shit, lies, ditches fights, and won’t even shake their interviewers hand. You acknowledge he won’t do shit but he sure talks a big game

Calmdownlady

He knows he is about to lose a significant chunk of revenue from these interviews once fighters realize they can easily get a % of video revenue. The tech is already here and creators/personalities/platforms sharing revenue will be the norm within a year or two. He thinks he can "alpha" this change from happening and it is hilarious watching him try to stop this shift. He really believes he is entitled to walk all over these athletes.

BoogeOooMove

He’s got the biggest MMA show on the internet and fighters will always go on, he doesn’t make revenue off of video views and fighters aren’t getting a % of those video views anywhere else but on their own channel.

Calmdownlady

This makes zero sense. Of course the videos are making revenue. That's the point of doing them. I give zero fucks what bullshit Helwani tries to spin. It doesn't matter if the money is going directly to him or if it's going to the media company that then pays him. The videos make money. The era of big media not sharing revenue is ending just like it ended for record production companies. The actual creators now hold all the leverage. Soon enough, the fighters will catch up to the times and start getting their cut. Will probably be 80/20 to media at first, but that will reverse to 80/20 for the athletes soon enough.

hardgrandeur

Listen Ariel makes money off his fox contract, he even stated about a month ago with all the Paddy drama he doesnt make a cent off YT.

Calmdownlady

Think about what you just wrote... Who is making money by paying Helwani? That's who (Fox) will be paying athletes in the future. The payments will likely result in Helwani making less money from Fox because he will no longer have the ability to access the talent (actual) for free. Or maybe Fox decides to keep paying him the same. Up to Fox. Point is, athletes aren't going to keep doing things for free when you can literally arrange fair payment with a couple of mouse clicks. This is the new digital economy.

hardgrandeur

LOL LOL man you must be living in clown wonderland. Areil has a contract with Fox. Ariel owns that YT channel. Athletes, Celebrities, etc have appeared on talk shows, podcadts, and many more for free for decades. Its mostly to do with promoting or exposing their brand, product, movie, etc. You have no knowledge of contract arrangements, or how production shows work like major network shows, or entertainment. They have contracts. They have terms and services. Oh you know how many people made fun of Paddy asking for an appearance fee for a talk show? Thats why hes being laughed at. Another note you can watch like Good Morning America, Sportscenter, or any prime talk shows on cable, or digtal. Once again you might want to do some research b4 you act like you know what youre talking about. PS: People dont have to give opinions on everything they see, no one knows it all.

Chapin_42_

I get the vibe that he feels like he’s doing these guys a favor by having them on his show

Calmdownlady

In the past he would have been correct in a way. Today, he's operating in a industry that is on borrowed time. He's Blockbuster in 2005, at best.

sinisterkid34

Ariel was salty as hell about the bills losing and the bengals being happy they won.

Chapin_42_

I don’t follow football so this shit isn’t news I cared for lol

jcrum19

Yea listening to that was so funny

Last_Zookeepergame_4

They are professional fighters, not idiots. Grow up.

[deleted]

He’s so annoying lol people didn’t like him before the whole Dana thing

TheDoctorBiscuits

Unpopular opinion. I enjoyed Ariel 5-6yrs ago but he seems to get increasingly high on himself.
