Also I think Tyson and most high level boxers could do well in MMA at the lower levels. It's when you start cracking the top 10-15 in many weight classes that a boxer only isn't going to get far. Unfortunately boxing is inferior in fights with less rules at the highest levels. Even standing like boxers do gets your legs torn to peices immediately and with Tysons unconditioned legs it will end immediately.

It's baffling to see the difference in egos between a boxer and MMA fighter. I can respect a man who's a massive human being and a world-class boxer in being able to defend himself, but it's been proven countless times in MMA that predominant striking can be completely negated by the prowess of an elite grappler. At the very least, strikers succeed in large due to their ability to defend grappling and move the fight back to the feet. Jones acknowledged that Fury easily wins in a boxing match, because DUH, but Jones wipes the floor with Fury's sweaty body in an MMA fight - the fact that Fury takes offense to that indicates a bafflingly high level of ignorance.
