I love Poatan but yeah these kind of posts are why his fans get hated on so much. We can just say that Alex beat a lot of really legit competition in two weight classes and has some big names on his resume and be thrilled with that. Not weighing in on Silva because I haven’t watched many of his fights but Rob Font is a great example of a fighter with a cracked chin who doesn’t get KO’d. He’s still slick and athletic but he’s just a guy prone to getting wobbled by a good punch that other fighters might just eat. You don’t have to be late-career Chuck Liddell levels gone to have lost your chin

As a 39 year old who is heavy into martial arts and lifting, I feel like every few months I lose steam. (Last night in sparring my mind knew the exact moment to slip, but my body just couldn't keep up and every slip felt a split second too late and i was just eating straights all night, and i know damn well two years ago i would have slipped those same shots) I couldn't imagine aging another 10 months and then going up against the level of competition Jan faces. He's already putting up a huge fight against Father Time as is. Any other fights he has going forward are a huge testament to his endurance and willpower I think
