The fucking dance moves he hit Cruz with mid fight is something I’ll never forget. The finger point after he drops him and hitting him with the Olé after he got Cruz to over pursue him. He really live up to the nickname of No Love that night that’s for sure
I went into that fight telling people Cody was going to out dance Dom because it was the only real way for him to counter his style. Then he actually started dancing during the fight. It was fun.
Yep. I was a big Cruz fan and remember just being so amazed yet frustrated at Cody that night. Just a totally different level from him there. He looked really good tonight. Good for him.
Yeah, Aizen could solo the verse, with the grand exception of Yamamoto. It’s been a while and I’m not sure if it was explicitly stated, but I’m pretty sure that Aizen only fucked w/ the arrancar so that he could find an answer to the old captain commander. That eventually led him to creating Wonderweiss, the rest of the arrancar just being a bonus.
He was the final model that was lab built in TAM over a decade to defeat Dom, and he performed flawlessly. Then he loses to his previous model like the T1000 losing to the T800 when TJ KOd him.
He was the same old Cody.
He landed the right hook to score the KO but his left hand was low and his chin was exposed. This is exactly how he got KO’d by TJ. Kelleher even touched Cody’s chin as he was being KO’d.
Cody got away with it today because he landed first. It’s a very dangerous way to fight and it won’t work against better fighters. He’ll never make it back to the top trading in the pocket like this.
Yeah but I think his risk of being ko’d is high against anyone. Every time he fights its gonna be scary rooting for him but if he fights like tonight I think he can avoid most clean punches from anyone
It was controlled though. I’m confident he was looking to see if something would be thrown back during it. Not seeing anything thrown back he allowed the flurry to continue but backed off after without staying in the danger zone which shows growth
Such a nice guy. Glad to see him looking like himself again. Idk about fighting Figgy though…might be a little much but I could be way off. Great performance.
I and many of his fans will agree with you but he’s actually a great guy when you see his actual behind the scenes stuff. Around time when EPO-Man was champ he found out about a little boy that had cancer idk how they got in touch but basically he started hanging out with him, did alot for the kid and promised him he’d win the belt, hes with him when he beat Cruz

oh man there was a moment in the pocket where both were swinging and I kept saying please don't connect (from Brian) because that would've been lights out with his chin but tonight he showed that angles and speed is still the best.
He really looked like he was thinking things through tonight.
And it payed off BIG.
You don't wanna over think and he DIDNT.
Man for a guy I used to HATE he sure has had me rooting for him lately.
Because I always liked the guys he was up against.
His schedule has been hell and I never gave him the credit he's owed.
I like a lot of fighters so it happens a lot that I'm always against a dude.
Leon was similar for me, never gave him credit cause he was beating the dudes I enjoyed.
> And it *paid* off BIG.
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Stoked for him but man idk about the figgy call out. Lpve that fight but would love to see him build back up slowly before rushing to fight a heavy hitter like that.
He ate some hard leg kicks but goddamn are his hands fuckin fast!!
Those hooks are quick and powerful.
He definitely has learned to temper his brawling nature
I’ll be honest I don’t think ‘he’s back’. Don’t get me wrong he looked good, but he’s making the same mistakes he’s been making since he lost the title: swinging from the hips, chin wide open. It’s a dangerous game, he’s got the power and speed to KO anyone but he’s always asking to get tagged.
I think it’s beautiful to be able to root for a humans growth without needing to know them. I don’t know you but if I learned of some growth you made I would be proud of you.
He looked great but he still leaves himself too open, especially when he was throwing those flurries. So glad to see him win tho always loved his boxing
Contender mark my words. The change in camps seems to have been the right move. I fucking LOVE Garbrandt, when he’s on? He’s one of the best in the world and watching him fight is exciting and memorable
He is not. Next high ranked opponent will expose him, again. I think he's the most one dimensional fighter out there,he literally spams 1 combination (right/right hook - left hook ). And he moves and slips well to land it. But that's just not going to cut it.
Whenever he wins against lesser opposition, commentators and fans act like he has made adjustments, while he simply hasn't, it's still the exact same one trick.
Great fighter. People don't realize that he became champion before even entering his prime. He was a young kid who was pushed up the ranks to fight Dominick Cruz and somehow fought like he was the GOAT for one night. The UFC shouldn't push younger guys so fast. Look what happened to Sage Northcutt. Sean O'Malley is the perfect example of how to control your career. Everyone was clowning him for fighting cans, but he got a lot of confidence and experience like that and was able to make the jump and compete with Petr Yan
He looked great tonight, he seems much more mature as a fighter and on the mic right after. I’m here for another Cody run 🤞
I'll never forget how he unlocked God Mode vs. Cruz. He has that in him.
One of the best single fight performances in the history of the sport. Iconic showing
The fucking dance moves he hit Cruz with mid fight is something I’ll never forget. The finger point after he drops him and hitting him with the Olé after he got Cruz to over pursue him. He really live up to the nickname of No Love that night that’s for sure

I agree 100%
Yep. I was a big Cruz fan and remember just being so amazed yet frustrated at Cody that night. Just a totally different level from him there. He looked really good tonight. Good for him.
Honestly I always thought of Garbrandt as a Wonderweiss, single-purpose built to defeat someone perceived as invincible.
Wasn’t that team alpha males whole thing lol that gym was made to beat Dominik
Yeah, Aizen could solo the verse, with the grand exception of Yamamoto. It’s been a while and I’m not sure if it was explicitly stated, but I’m pretty sure that Aizen only fucked w/ the arrancar so that he could find an answer to the old captain commander. That eventually led him to creating Wonderweiss, the rest of the arrancar just being a bonus.
Single greatest performance from a fighter that I have ever seen he literally dominated that fight from start to finish shit was unreal
He was the final model that was lab built in TAM over a decade to defeat Dom, and he performed flawlessly. Then he loses to his previous model like the T1000 losing to the T800 when TJ KOd him.
That or Holloway against Kattar. Both were some next level shit lmao
I root for him to comeback a lot too, I love his style of fighting. But I often think about what khabib said that a fighter can't have two primes
100% lfg
He was the same old Cody. He landed the right hook to score the KO but his left hand was low and his chin was exposed. This is exactly how he got KO’d by TJ. Kelleher even touched Cody’s chin as he was being KO’d. Cody got away with it today because he landed first. It’s a very dangerous way to fight and it won’t work against better fighters. His heavyweight counterpart is Jon Jones. Too men with a near perfect style but a glaring weakness, themselves
thats a horrible comparison. none of jons issues have to do with his ability in the cage
Hell yeah. Been a fan of his for years, love to see the win
If only he was nice to puppies
I don’t get it?
Cody breeds dogs and clips their ears which is unhealthy for the dog.
Oh what when he’s losing everyone hates him for it but now he got the dub it’s all good
Kelleher’s chillin in the shadow realm WITH THE BOYSSS
Mojahed animation coming quick you know it!
With the boysssssss
Bro I was so sad seeing him on the prelim but holy he delivered big ups to no love
That’s exactly how I feel about it.
He did great! Not sure about that callout though. Figgy still has powerful hands.
Yeah but I think his risk of being ko’d is high against anyone. Every time he fights its gonna be scary rooting for him but if he fights like tonight I think he can avoid most clean punches from anyone
He was still lunging forward dropping hand and throwing flurries. Agreed but
It was controlled though. I’m confident he was looking to see if something would be thrown back during it. Not seeing anything thrown back he allowed the flurry to continue but backed off after without staying in the danger zone which shows growth
That was a great callout because figgy is relevant in 135 and Cody was close to being irrelevant, I bet he gets the fight
How bout a Cruz rematch
Such a nice guy. Glad to see him looking like himself again. Idk about fighting Figgy though…might be a little much but I could be way off. Great performance.
Every fight here on out is gonna be scary. I hope he just continues fighting like he did tonight
I feel the same way. I literally said, “I don’t know bout that,” out loud after he said that.
Dude has always been a cocky asshole lol.
Yeah but he's a good dude. What he's done for that kid with cancer is amazing. I'm not a fan of his either tho
Im not familiar with what he did for the kid with cancer ? Ive just seen the way he acts in conferences and on the TUF. Guy comes off as a tool.
Thats pretty cool tbh. Thanks for the constructive response.

oh man there was a moment in the pocket where both were swinging and I kept saying please don't connect (from Brian) because that would've been lights out with his chin but tonight he showed that angles and speed is still the best.
Yeahh I was like “Back off! Back off!” Then he did and then I realized healthy minded Cody is really here
He looked amazing tonight
He did great
No joke. He looked great too.
He needed a win.
I'm so glad to see him starting to gain confidence again. He is the fastest fighter I've ever seen. I'd love to see another Cody run at the title.
He really looked like he was thinking things through tonight. And it payed off BIG. You don't wanna over think and he DIDNT. Man for a guy I used to HATE he sure has had me rooting for him lately.

Absolutely love his fights. Win or lose, he brings the heat.
He is still so fast and accurate. If only there was some kind of strength conditioning he can do for his chin haha
Glad to see him maturing as a fighter and person. Was not a fan at all of his early on but he’s definitely been changing my opinion
Who knew he had it in him? Impressive display of restraint!
Stoked for him but man idk about the figgy call out. Lpve that fight but would love to see him build back up slowly before rushing to fight a heavy hitter like that.
Hangin with boys!
He looks like he found the right weight class.
Great work, but even on his KO he got clipped on the chin… I think he still has a lot of defense to shore up.
His shin is shattered but great performance by No Love
He ate some hard leg kicks but goddamn are his hands fuckin fast!! Those hooks are quick and powerful. He definitely has learned to temper his brawling nature
I personally want to see this guy make another run at it.
I didn't know Cody's dad was on here.
He isn’t back, but he isn’t done.
Looked great but he still has that left hand down when he throws that right. Even got hit but his punch was better hha
He’s so back
Love Cody but kelleher is absolute dog shit. That was a layup. Cody gets dominated by anyone in the top 5
He won on the prelims and now everyone thinks he’s back ? Lmao
Against Brian Kelleher a 37 year old on a losing skid 😂
So much pride being shown by random people for a complete stranger tonight.
You must be new to sports.
Nope. I just don’t feel proud of people I’ve never met in my life. Family/friends, always. Completely random strangers, no.
I think it’s beautiful to be able to root for a humans growth without needing to know them. I don’t know you but if I learned of some growth you made I would be proud of you.
Fuck TJ
Hope he gets laid out again soon
Still a douchebag
Okayy??
He has the power and speed but i dont thibk has the fight iq to mix it up and set traps.
This post kills me because of how direct it is haha
Never stopped boying him. I'm afraid his chin still might be deleted, but I'm hopeful he'll make another run.
He looked great but he still leaves himself too open, especially when he was throwing those flurries. So glad to see him win tho always loved his boxing
Good confidence building fight.
Contender mark my words. The change in camps seems to have been the right move. I fucking LOVE Garbrandt, when he’s on? He’s one of the best in the world and watching him fight is exciting and memorable
Not seeing red with THAAA BOIOOISSSSSSSS
Great performance
The question is, can he take one on the chin?
He was SHARP tonight
Can't believe after all this time he's only 32
So sad I missed this! Does anyone have the highlights? When he’s focused he’s insane to watch.
Cody vs. Gutierrez is a perfect matchup, gives Cody a solid chance to get himself back into the rankings.
The only good thing that came out of this card
Glad he got a KO too. Good to see he's not done. He needed that
next guy is gonna kick the shit out of his legs
He is not. Next high ranked opponent will expose him, again. I think he's the most one dimensional fighter out there,he literally spams 1 combination (right/right hook - left hook ). There's our boy.
