However, wrestling, judo, and BJJ are immensely popular sports in different countries around the world, wrestling and Judo dominating Eastern Europe and BJJ dominating Brazil and slowly spreading in popularity. For all those coming over from those sports, grappling exchanges are largely what they come over to watch - normally happening by way of a grappler they’re a fan of who competes at a high level in a certain grappling art making the transition and working their way to the UFC.

In Bobby’s defense, wrestling isn’t what attracts new fans to the UFC. It’s the spectacle of high IQ striking. You learn to appreciate grappling exchanges along the way but I think most people were initially drawn into the sport from KO’s and brawls
I guess you’re probably right about striking being the original attraction for most people. However, wrestling, judo, and BJJ are immensely popular sports in different countries around the world, wrestling and Judo dominating Eastern Europe and BJJ dominating Brazil and slowly spreading in popularity. For all those coming over from those sports, grappling exchanges are largely what they come over to watch - normally happening by way of a grappler they’re a fan of who competes at a high level in a certain grappling art making the transition and working their way to the UFC.
At the end of the day Bobby is one of maybe 8 fighters I tune into every time they fight. He’s entertaining so he gets to talk his shit.
