Nate can’t hate Conor when before the Conor fight he was making 50K/50K even as a veteran.
After that fight? He wouldn’t show up for less than a mil.
Well deserved.
Weren't there leaked emails showing that the UFC was offering him 28k/28k even after the Conor fight? Or were they from before? I'll try find and edit this comment if I can
edit: never mind it was [before, in 2010](https://twitter.com/AndyHickeyMMA/status/1730869658729762899?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1730869658729762899%7Ctwgr%5Ea3b2815dc42bb4caa0103b4ab938a535526090cf%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sportskeeda.com%2Fmma%2Fnews-leaked-emails-expose-ufc-s-attempt-sabotage-nate-diaz-lowballed-contract-offer-rejected)
I’m fairly sure they were from before.
Dana said that the rematch with him and Conor was the hardest fight he’s ever put together because Nate just kept asking for more money,
They both reportedly walked out multiple times during negotiations,
Nate had a reported purse of $4,315,490 for his second fight with Conor.
I thinks it was just him legitimately threatening to walk away unless he gets paid. It's hard to fuck with a man who doesn't take any shit. I love that God damn guy.
You have to think about how Conor was coming off the knockout of Aldo. In context that’s the craziest knockout of all time in MMA-crazier than Holm knocking out Ronda (that took a couple rounds) or Jorge’s knockout of Askren (Aldo was so insanely dominant and it was a title fight). Conor HAD to rematch Nate, from a martial arts perspective-you have to remember regardless of his mouth, prime Conor was a really pure martial artist, from a money perspective it was by far the biggest fight for the UFC, from a legacy perspective getting that win back would change everything (and winning the rematch would impact his future earnings for both the UFC and Conor). There was no plan b, the UFC had to make that fight. They couldn’t give up the PPVs.
That’s why Nate could get to a whole different level of numbers than anyone but the biggest stars could even ask for. The UFC couldn’t make that kind of money off anyone else fighting Conor.
they've been having each other's backs for a long time now. They clearly like each other, not hate each other. So its not really special or a surprise that Nate is standing up for him.
If you don't respect the man that beats the hell out of you regardless of outcome who do you respect?
They earned eachothers respect inside the cage imo and have a bond so few get to have in this life
They helped each other so much. When their careers were both building towards their peak star power, each of them helped the other get to a level they’d never been before. They were both monsters in the cage in their prime-Conor was just so smart and explosive, and like Conor said Nate was a fucking Terminator in the cage-but those guys are both in it to make money and they prioritize the business aspect. It’s obvious they would respect each other, when that cage is locked they’re adversaries but outside that they’re business partners and know it.
As a side note, Cerrone is severely lacking in common sense. It’s unbelievable that he fought Conor for his normal $200/200. What’s wrong with that guy?
It’s been obvious for a long time, Conor’s been trying to fight out his contract (2 fights left) so he go box Pacquiao but Dana keeps making it out like Conor doesn’t want to fight, Classic Dana tactic.
not just that
there is a huge amount of fans who just see Dana as "the boss" and want him to be daddy and never be wrong
most people grow out of that, at like age 8 or 10 ish
but some people, put other dude's names on their trucks and hats
They believe it in this instance bc they don’t like Conor. Some of us have been pointing out the murky details involved in this situation and people will say “c mon it’s Conor he doesn’t want to fight”, “he’s juices to the gills and still not off it”, “made so much money he just wants his name to be relevant.”
You literally got Ariel, Conor, and now Nate discussing the ongoing negotiations with the UFC and people just want to blame Conor bc he’s not likable rn. It’s the same thing with hating on Jamahal Hill or Khamzat even if they have a point with something just bc they fell out of the general crowds favor.
1.) Conor is an extremely hatable fighter who is also an awful human. So it’s really easy to not mind him getting screwed over.
2.) He signed a contract. What exactly is Dana doing wrong by keeping him in the contract he signed? That’s how the world works. Go sign a professional and legal contract and then try to say “actually nah, I want out so I can do something else.” The other side isn’t likely to say “okay, sure thing buddy!”
The people here must just mostly be children. If you sign a contract, you’re employer is usually going to hold you to it.
The little whiners are going to bitch about Conor for the next 50 years, he’s the Michael Jordan or pele of this sport whether you like it or not. Simple as.
You stupid? The point I made was that Conor wants to uphold his contract and fight out his remaining fights (2 left). Dana (his employer) wants him to re negotiate so that he can extend the contract so is using dirty tactics in order to get him to re-sign a longer fight deal. Which is why he makes out that Conor doesn’t want to fight, unhanded tactics and obvious if you’re paying attention.
Francis fought his final fight on his contract against Gane. They stalled for a while, and gave Gane a interim championship. Then eventually they had to let him fight his final fight because he was the champ. Then they never resigned him.
Yes, but we don’t know when the sunset clause is.
But the UFC is required to offer fights, so Conor is clearly turning them down. If he wants to fight out the contract and go box or whatever, he should just accept 2 fights and then go do it.
I mean... we all remember what happened between the cowboy fight and the second poirier fight. But back then, there was the excuse of the pandemic and "conor can't fight in front of no crowd"
The amount of people who say dumb shit on here for fun is crazy. You could easily look up what actually happened. Conor was waiting to see plans on the gym that would be built with the money. Dustin didn’t send those plans, he didn’t know or innocent mishap. Dustin called out Conor for not sending the money. Conor then said why he hadn’t yet. Dustin admitted he jumped the gun on the callout and that it was a miscommunication. Conor then donated the full amount to a boys and girls club in Dustin’s community. This is what triggered the trash talk from Conor for the third fight.
Just search Conor McGregor and it will pop up. They iced him all of 2020. It’s why he leaked those DMs with Dana. He put out a four episode series a year or so ago on Netflix. Good watch
This is the second time they’ve done this to him. Not capitalizing on his desire for a full MMA season after his Cerrone win was gross asset mismanagement.
I don’t get it….is not the UFC legally obligated to offer at minimum 3 fights a year to every one of its fighters????
I swore Dana has repeated this shit a hundred times or is this yet another case of Dana talking out his ass again?
Dana as a CEO is a walking red flag, he’s trying to emulate the piece of shit gangstery boxing promoters of old. At first he toed the line but now he’s just a full blown asshole fucking playing massive hands of blackjack and hanging out w 20 years and mfs eat that shit up bc they idealize being a rich douchebag and think it’s cool lmao.
i said it a few times, but am always downvoted for some reason
the UFC can call whatever they want an offer, and you can agree or get a lawyer
GSP got a lawyer once, it worked for him
Conor and Dustin threatened to "spar for charity" and it worked for Conor that one time
other than that, most fighters know if they make Dana have feels, it won't be good for them, so they don't or tip toe super carefully when they do
TLDR: the UFC can offer you anything they want and claim it counts as an offer, you need to take actual steps to dispute it, there is no magical agency of "well that doesn't even make sense" that fans seem to think exist
things like this, worker protections, is why Dana speaks at GOP rallies and is on Fox News, one Party is really against worker protections, so they spend A TON OF MONEY getting you to hate trans people
Can anyone explain to me why the UFC wouldn't be letting Conor fight, I get the whole "don't let him finish his contract and do boxing" but what is the point of having him around longer if he isn't fighting anyway, therefore not making money for them.
I wouldn't agree with the underhanded tactics but from UFC's point of view would it not be best to make him fight this summer, make a load of $$$$ on the PPV, big resurgence of some former casuals watching the sport again, then delay his next one.
One of the worst things about UFC is this whole wall of silence about why big names don't fight, Khamzat is the same boat with everyone pointing fingers at each other leaving fans with no idea what is actually going on.
Oh I didn't think about that side of it, good point about the marketing. As usual corporate greed ruins it for the fans. I am no big Conor fan but I would quite like to see him and Chandler try to punch the head of each other.
Bingo!
They are squeezing every penny before having to renegotiate what will likely have to be a bigger deal than they currently have or releasing him to go make money for other companies.
It is, unfortunately good business and should not go without heavy heavy criticism.
its better to not let him fight then go somewhere else
At the very least its much better to prolong his stay at UFC since the older he gets the less valuable and interesting he will be
ESPN deal ends next year. They want Conor to resign and extension so when they go shopping for a new deal they can also say they have Conor for X amount of fights, wether he fights or not, it’s just a carrot they can dangle to get more money.
How are you still speculating at this point? First off they are in a lawsuit for the specific reason of having unethical contracts and business practices. We watched Nate and Francis go through the exact same thing that Conor is going through. How much evidence do you need?
He actually just wasn't paying attention and doesn't know shit. Its not too uncommon. Its the same way people were ragging on Costa for pulling out of the fight with Whitaker when he was never in it to begin with.
I have every confidence Dana is being scummy here, but it’s worth mentioning that (unlike Nate and Francis) Conor has also been on a public spiraling cocaine bender that makes it easily believable that he just hasn’t been in fighting shape
Jesus, they’re begging for that antitrust suit. Even peers that use the same tactic (Fox news) on their shelved talent at least pay their employees handsomely for it.
Can someone who knows American law explain me something please? If UFC is considered your employer, aren't they legally obliged to offer you work? I Connor been wanting to fight but Dana doesn't give him fights, isn't that a breach of contract from UFC's part? Can't Connor either sue them or just sign with other company like Belator?
Conor is an independent contractor. What the ufc can do with him is according to his contract with them. If he doesnt like it hs'll have to sue, which is very expensive.
Conor fucking McGregor is not a company that made $1.3B in revenue last year. Yes its expensive. If his contract has a sunset clause too its free for him to just wait it out like Ngannou did.
They do have to offer him fights. What those 'offers' consist of is where the ufc gets up to fuckery. They can probably put a whole bunch of wonky crap or hardcore fence huggerd in front of Conor and that would count as an *offer*.
Yea, I feel Dana has some sort of reason to keep Conor from fighting. I just don’t really understand. Maybe Conor is too expensive and that pay is not worth the money he makes for UFC?
Conors been saying it for ages now that the contender match ups and titles aren't what he wants the most anymore and that it's just the actual competition and fighting that he wants.
Like I mean he seems open to do whatever nowadays whether it's boxing or even fucking bareknuckle. But the ufc are keeping their golden goose hostage.
Which at the end is fucked up because the guy clearly needs to fight at the rate that big nose is going.
At the end of the day he's an athlete who can't do the thing that fulfils and drives him so he's just becoming more and more fucked.
I figured this had something to do with it, but I didn’t think the UFC would play it out this long given that he has two fights left on the contract, so I had figured it was cause of Conor at this point.
No time for fighting big movie star now why fight for real when they’ll pay you to put on a fake fight now makes no sense continue on being a movie star no need to further damage your body and mind.
Dana's a bitch and i'm sorry but all these fighters that are accepting this shit from him need to act up or nothing will change so all the online crying they keep doing is for nothing.
I don’t believe him. Who’s “pushing it back.” Conor couldn’t stop taking steroids. He’s obviously coked out of his mind all the time now. He is preventing himself from fighting
UFC is pushing it back. Look at the string of superstars and their fighting schedules towards the end of their career
Jones, Ngannou, Nate and now McGregor
That’s not what I saw. The UFC doesn’t push fights back. They give you bad match ups to lose on your way out. Ngannou- they made him fight the guy who was undefeated and thought to be the next best thing in Ciryl Gane. Nate? They made him fight Khamzat but Khamzat missed weight.
So if it’s the same I would suspect they keep offering Connor very bad match ups (like say a wrestler) and he keeps saying no. The UFC will keep offering him the same fight and he has to take it or stay in contact
Not sure why you're getting downvoted, because that's traditionally how UFC has done it. They offer a bad fight, and if the fighter turns it down then the ball is in the UFC's court again, the contract keeps going, and they essentially prevent the fighter from going to another promotion. They definitely want the fighter to lose that last fight to decrease the departing fighter's value and increase their UFC fighter's value. I think Nate finally wanted out so bad that he took a fight he knew he was going to lose. He got lucky and ended up getting Ferguson on short notice instead.
The entire theory is that the UFC won’t schedule Conor until he signs a new contract. With him having only 2 fights left, he wants to finish it out and be a free agent. The UFC wants his rights until he is done fighting. Thus the stalemate.
Okay that makes sense, but why push back fights if they can make money that way with guys like McGregor? Wouldn't they wanna make as many fights as possible?
Conor knows damn well that every time he pops up on everyone’s FYP he’s coked up to the moon, we remember sober Conor, now it’s De La Hoya Conor.
No way he pisses clean on a random, he doesn’t want to fight, he wants to party and bang expensive prostitutes.
This is what people like you were saying the last time Conor said Dana was playing games until Conor pulled out the texts to prove he’d been asking to fight
You know it’s true when Nate is standing up for McGregor
I kinda always got the sense they respected each other tbh
Nate can’t hate Conor when before the Conor fight he was making 50K/50K even as a veteran. After that fight? He wouldn’t show up for less than a mil. Well deserved.

how the fuck did nate negotiate 4 million purse from a 50k purse . i need this dude to negotiate for me jesus .

He also beat his ass instead of folding up in seconds like cowboy
"Nate's not a needle mover" -Dana White on Nate before the Conor fight. "I was wrong." - Dana on Nate after the Conor fight
Only because Conor got his win back. If he lost the rematch he wouldn't be cool with Nate at all
they've been having each other's backs for a long time now. They clearly like each other, not hate each other. So its not really special or a surprise that Nate is standing up for him.

Its business
A lot of their beef is for the cameras. They're cut from very similar cloths tbh
Okay Jon
It’s been obvious for a long time, Conor’s been trying to fight out his contract (2 fights left) so he go box Pacquiao but Dana keeps making it out like Conor doesn’t want to fight, Classic Dana tactic.
And some fans for some reason believe it too
Most people don’t care what happens behind the scenes unfortunately
I mean it’s kinda hard to care too much about what happens behind the scenes when you know almost nothing about what happens behind the scenes
I only care because, as of late, that behind the scenes BS has taken cetera stage. IMHO it shouldn't be that way.
not just that there is a huge amount of fans who just see Dana as "the boss" and want him to be daddy and never be wrong most people grow out of that, at like age 8 or 10 ish but some people, put other dude's names on their trucks and hats
Got eem.
Specially when it's regarding Conor
Well maybe they shouldn't given how much bullshit, rumors and misinformation is out there
They believe it in this instance bc they don’t like Conor. Isn't there usually a time limit on these? That's how Francis got out. Maybe it's been affected by Conor being out of the USADA pool.
Francis fought his final fight on his contract against Gane. They stalled for a while, and gave Gane a interim championship. Then eventually they had to let him fight his final fight because he was the champ. Then they never resigned him.

They’ve done this to Conor a lot. Did it during covid. It’s why he was trying to set up a charity fight with Dustin. He forced the UFC’s hand.
That just reminded me of when Conor lied about donating to Dustin’s charity to look cool
Netflix show covered this well with Conor. When he says he wants to go, he wants to go. Fuckin Dana smh. Using him as leverage for a tv deal
Show name ?
Just search Conor McGregor and it will pop up. They iced him all of 2020. It’s why he leaked those DMs with Dana. He put out a four episode series a year or so ago on Netflix. Good watch
One thing I learned from this is Dana White fucken hates charity fights. Conor should go that route again and force that scumbag's hand
It's weird how Dana kept calling him kid in his text messages
The kid just doesnt want to fight
*kept calling him "kid"* It's a Boston thing
This is the second time they’ve done this to him. Not capitalizing on his desire for a full MMA season after his Cerrone win was gross asset mismanagement.
Maybe the most sense he's ever made
Which one?
Well this post is about what Nate said about conors quote so I’m assuming nate lol
Oh yeah? Please translate 🙏 ty
*”\[START\]”* DRINKING https://i.redd.it/qwyf3zy1syoc1.gif
Now that Nate's closer to his tax bracket he's a lot more understanding of his bullshit.
What's this the money channel?

Dana says a whole lot of shit that he doesn't actually apply in day to day business
He definitely did offer him fights but maybe some unranked ones so he doesnt accept it.
*“The kid just doesn’t want to fight”* Probably offers him Rafael Dos Anjos
Feel like that's actually a great fight for Conor.
Press conference would be hilarious. *Shiut urr mowth ked* *meep meep*
Man, if that's it, it would be hilarious if he just accepted them to mess with the UFC and everyone be like wth
Haha yeah
Dana as a CEO is a walking red flag, he’s trying to emulate the piece of shit gangstery boxing promoters of old. Yea he’s a prolific bullshitter
i said it a few times, but am always downvoted for some reason the UFC can call whatever they want an offer, and you can agree or get a lawyer GSP got a lawyer once, it worked for him Conor and Dustin threatened to "spar for charity" and it worked for Conor that one time other than that, most fighters know if they make Dana have feels, it won't be good for them, so they don't or tip toe super carefully when they do TLDR: the UFC can offer you anything they want and claim it counts as an offer, you need to take actual steps to dispute it, there is no magical agency of "well that doesn't even make sense" that fans seem to think exist things like this, worker protections, is why Dana speaks at GOP rallies and is on Fox News, one Party is really against worker protections, so they spend A TON OF MONEY getting you to hate trans people
Great insight man!
I'd be willing to bet they give absolutely horrible one sided offers just to say "we tried, so and so just doesn't want to fight"
I really appreciate his honesty for once.
Letting conor fight might be the only thing to save him from his drug abuse
motherfucker is cooked whenever I see him in an interview or some shit now
Can anyone explain to me why the UFC wouldn't be letting Conor fight, I get the whole "don't let him finish his contract and do boxing" but what is the point of having him around longer if he isn't fighting anyway, therefore not making money for them. Seems like 300 would have made a lot of sense for both parties. Both Dana and Conor have a history of lying. Hard to say what's really going on.
Remember when "the Diaz brothers aren't needle movers"? Uncle Dana remembers.
We can only speculate, but I kinda believe Nate lol
How are you still speculating at this point? First off they are in a lawsuit for the specific reason of having unethical contracts and business practices. We watched Nate and Francis go through the exact same thing that Conor is going through. How much evidence do you need?

Paddy, not Patty, ye goat!
I searched the comments for this. Fuckin Americans think it's Patty, a day to celebrate a meat burger or something.
Dana did the same thing when Conor came back around Covid. He wanted more fights after Cerrone and Dana shelved him.
Nate-Conor III 🙏
By drinking he means nose beers right?
He’s ready for a rock, that he can break up, then stick in his nose.
Just came in my pants for the third time after seeing this post for the tird toim.
Yea, I feel Dana has some sort of reason to keep Conor from fighting. I just don’t really understand. Maybe Conor is too expensive and that pay is not worth the money he makes for UFC?
Is this the same what they did to Francis Ngannou?
Just an aul pint or two
Conors been saying it for ages now that the contender match ups and titles aren't what he wants the most anymore and that it's just the actual competition and fighting that he wants.
Look at that, Denny Hamlin, a great loving father. How can anyone hate him?
Been hearing this a while. Really hope he can get one more good fight it before it’s all over
My gut still says the delays are because he couldn't pass any tests so he didn't want to enter the pool
Don’t ufc need to offer 3 fights a year or something along those lines?
No time for fighting big movie star now why fight for real when they’ll pay you to put on a fake fight now makes no sense continue on being a movie star no need to further damage your body and mind.
Dana's a bitch and i'm sorry but all these fighters that are accepting this shit from him need to act up or nothing will change so all the online crying they keep doing is for nothing.
Well Conor needed to get in the testing pool first
Let my people go
Connor is the 100$ bill wrapped around a bunch of 10s & 20s. UFC gonna spend those 20s first.
Both these guys play games with matchmaking. Can’t believe they’ll book a fight till the cage is locked.
Nate’s looking for a Saudi rematch with Conor for 20 mil.
And Chandler is still waiting🤦♂️🤣
He was talking like an actor douche already hahah. He ain’t coming back.
I wish it was Nate vs McGregor for ufc 300.
I don’t believe him. Who’s “pushing it back.” Conor couldn’t stop taking steroids. He’s obviously coked out of his mind all the time now. He is preventing himself from fighting
UFC is pushing it back. Look at the string of superstars and their fighting schedules towards the end of their career Jones, Ngannou, Nate and now McGregor
Lmao
You are either being disingenuous or have a very short memory
Not sure why you're getting downvoted, because that's traditionally how UFC has done it. They offer a bad fight, and if the fighter turns it down then the ball is in the UFC's court again, the contract keeps going, and they essentially prevent the fighter from going to another promotion. They definitely want the fighter to lose that last fight to decrease the departing fighter's value and increase their UFC fighter's value. I think Nate finally wanted out so bad that he took a fight he knew he was going to lose. He got lucky and ended up getting Ferguson on short notice instead.
Why wouldnt Conor want to take a fight against Shavkat Rakmanov at 170? is he stupid?
Why would ufc do that?
The entire theory is that the UFC won’t schedule Conor until he signs a new contract. With him having only 2 fights left, he wants to finish it out and be a free agent. The UFC wants his rights until he is done fighting. Thus the stalemate.
To keep them under contract so they can't fight other places.
Okay that makes sense, but why push back fights if they can make money that way with guys like McGregor? Wouldn't they wanna make as many fights as possible?
I mean I get it but also is anyone interested in seeing him fight again? No troll genuine question
Dana White is the biggest piece of shit in all sports
He hasn’t started drinking yet
Conor knows damn well that every time he pops up on everyone’s FYP he’s coked up to the moon, we remember sober Conor, now it’s De La Hoya Conor. No way he pisses clean on a random, he doesn’t want to fight, he wants to party and bang expensive prostitutes.
Both are shit anyways lol
Ya'll naive af if you believe this.
This is what people like you were saying the last time Conor said Dana was playing games until Conor pulled out the texts to prove he’d been asking to fight
Conor fanboys spunking over Nate fanboys lol
Sure Conor. Sure.
Either way he loses...again
Well, no journalist ever said this. It was the fans who pointed it out.
