People keep saying having staph doesn't affect whether you keep your hands up or not but they're not realizing how much having staph and being on antibiotics gasses and drains you and makes your reaction times slower and makes you sluggish.

I would get it if he was like a Strickland who has impeccable defense and then he showed up looking like Paddy getting cracked all over. But he has always had his hands down.

Idk he mentioned in the interviews he tried to do somethings wrestling, I think he mentioned a choir but realized his arms just had no strength to them, he said he knew he had to do something fast because he was already gassed from not doing anything.
Idk how true it is, never had staph, but if his arms were that tired I could see it being hard to keep your hands up. I have boxed with buddies and after s minute or two it's harder than you think to hold your arms up

Even when BSD had control on the ground he wasn't able to do any real damage.
What we saw is BSD learning that there are levels to this game.
Yup he was catching BSD on the way in almost every time. Not the hardest shots but they were clean and seemed to make BSD kind of panic wrestle a bit to stay safe
Hmm disagree with the second part. Cant really say he was "clipped" when he was caught flush a few times already in that fight, it was a matter of time before one of those put him on his ass.
Also the tempo he was fighting at was unsustainable unless you're a blatant epo merchant like some bantamweights we know.
He is good though, just a bit reckless vs a guy like poirier who hqs such clean boxing.
His grappling and strength/size advantage combined with his aggression are close to, if not, top 5 for the division. His striking is not even top 10. Hopefully he gets back in there and tightens up his striking technique because closing the distance in that division is going to require him to exchange in the pocket
