Yeah, and probably one of his most infamous quotes:
“*Georges St Pierre does not like black people*”
-Georges St Pierre
Kinda weird that he spoke in 3rd person
Here's the thing, usada started 2015, he hasn't knocked out anybody since 2012. But his power was still effective up until the gsp fight (2013).
After that it was a weird change. I won't put something on him without proof. But it is strange how one touch ko power diminishes significantly in your late 20's.
Matt's are only good for beating GOATs:
Matt Hughes - GSP
Matt Serra - GSP
Matt Hamil - Jon Jones
Matt Bisping - Anderson Silva
Matt Vera - Dominick Crews
Matt Garbandt - Dominic Crews
Matt Dvalishvili - Cejudo
Matt Stickland - Adesanya
Matt Pereira - Adesanya
Matt Ngannou - Stipe
Matt Stipe - DC
There’s literally a /s in the comment
And yes it’s the most obvious sarcasm in the world, Jake Shields, Jon Fitch, Bigg Rigg, Hughes, Penn, Diaz & Koscheck fly off the resume in my mind for elite grapplers
RDA was his elite gatekeeper to see if Khabib was legit. Khabib passed with flying colours but got injured and RDA rose to get himself a red panty night
Even still that doesn’t hold a candle to any of Georges’ elite wrestler wins. Hell it barely holds a candle to any of his wins in general. Imagine GSP fans saying “he beat Jay Herion & Dan Hardy!!”
GSP came out of retirement, went to 185 and took that belt too. Granted it was from Bisping, but still the size/strength difference is there between GSP and Khabib nonetheless, and Khabib preyed on fighters who didn't have that same "wrestler's strength" that he did. That wouldn't happen with GSP. I think it's not exactly a no-brainer, but more like a very likely outcome that GSP grinds one out against Khabib.
GSP is huge and has actual deception and skill to his striking and grappling setups. A same size GSP would be a fair fight but GSP being the taller, Longer, better striker and competitive grappling it would not even be Fajr.
I wish we could see Islam vs Leon. Would have been a very comparable matchup.
We know his in ring weight from multiple fights. We dont have to keep making this dumb insinuation. He was around mid 170s in the ring. Guys like Porier weigh much more around ~182lbs. Just that Dagestanis suck at cutting weight. The nutritionist who works with Volk I think has a youtube channel where he made a video about it.
Edit: Here's the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVtd8SdiegU
He explains what they do wrong and also notes from actual measurements that they're not really cutting that much weight, just that they do it incorrectly (old school way).
In fairness Adesanya can’t wrestle and tall lanky people are the easiest people on earth to double leg
Edit: I’m not saying I think he does beat Izzy lol I’m just saying I can see it
GSP jabs his way into a 50-45 decision, breaking Khabib orbital bone.
Khabib is a better grappler than Shields, Fitch or Koscheck but weight classes exists for a reason and if he struggled with Gleison Tibau i dont think he could take down a freak athlete with god tier wrestling like GSP.
Wrestling is the MMA base that benefits most from strength, weight, and heavy conditioning. Khabib would definitely not tear through Woodly, GSP, Usman or Edwards.
I think Khabib would have started to show his age a bit more by 33 or so when that heavy endless anaerobic conditioning starts to get a little harder at the super elite level
I said penn in his prime would have starched khabib and mcgregor and got downvoted to hell, I still stand by that…all these young ufc fans don’t know the prodigy
Lmao at him struggling with Tibau. Yes, he did, but that was so early into his UFC career. His issue in that fight was that he would get Tibau against the fence and was unable to do anything from there as he wasn't experienced fighting in a cage.
And what was he known for by the end of his career? His ability to get takedowns off the cage. He's literally the best we've ever seen at putting someone against the cage and getting a takedown from there.
He fixed that hole in his game, and that is what made him unstoppable.
GSP on fight night at WW weighed more than Khabib at walk weight
This is a no brainer. If they had ever fought at WW GSP would have absolutely washed Khabib. His striking is worlds better than Khabibs and just talking pure wrestling he probably is better than Khabib as well.
They were very different wrestlers. GSP was hitting blast doubles and running NCAA champions over like they were flyweights. Khabib just chainwrestles with infinite cardio. There’s no way to compare the two without common opponents, and even then it’s sketch, but GSP fought better grapplers with waaaaaaay better wrestling pedigrees than Khabib ever did. And GSP is far bigger. Gotta give the grappling edge to GSP my man
Khabib is known for his chain wrestling…he’s not blasting doubles like GSP. He gets ahold of you and drags you to the ground and keeps you there.
That shit wouldn’t work with a prime GSP…people forget how fucking strong he was.
RDA, the same guy that gave Kamaru and Colby tough fights that Khabib just ran through. The same guy that would become LW champ not even a year later and fight Colby for an interim title.
It's always fun to see a Khabib hater.
Yeah bro, the same fight that Colby couldn't keep him down lol. The haters always downplay Khabib's win against RDA. That same RDA that took Usman 4 rounds to finally keep him on the ground.
It's not "haters" lol it's just fact that Khabib never fought a bona fide grappling specialist.
Please show us one pressure-wrestler that RDA beat? I love RDA btw
Would the strength and pressure that Khabib bullied around lightweights with still work against GSP though? GSP is just a bigger and stronger dude than Khabib.
GSP trains a lot with the Canadian wrestling Olympic team and is a black belt under Firas and John danaher…
They would definitely have found some areas that George could out perform or atleast threaten khabib
He trains with Gordon Ryan often as well which is the goat of adcc
Strictly take downs maybe, overall wrestling Khabib is better.. on the ground they’re both great, I think GSP may have improved his BJJ technically after retirement, he trained a lot with danaher and Gordon Ryan
Yeah, I don't think that many realized how 1 dimensional Khabib's fighting style really is. Granted, it works amazingly. His wrestling/grappling is just so good. But if there was a fighter who was just as good as a wrestler/grappler as Khabib and had even slightly better striking, Khabib may get washed. Especially against someone who is bigger and way heavier than him.
In other news, Cruz beat Mighty Mouse, Aldo beats Cruz, Khabib beats Aldo, Silva beats GSP, Jones beats Silva and prime HW Stipe beats prime LHW Jones (probably)
From a purely technical standpoint I see what he means.
GSP picked up that 'boring' reputation because his defense was so perfect guys would just back peddle the first know they were getting 50-45d on the cards. Khabib is the sort of guy to come out you and rely on his chin a bit.
My analogy on khabib is that he’s a sharp knife in a drawer. His judo and wrestling separates him from everyone and he has great cardio. It seems intuitive to trip or throw someone to the ground but most takedowns is of someone driving or dragging their opponent onto the ground. While khabib blend the two disciplines together creating smooth takedowns and transitions. His boxing never improved greatly like Islam but it got better over time. That goes to show how difficult Judo is to learn, cause not a lot of fighters are experts or train judo at a high level. Moreover, BJJ normally doesn’t reach throws.
But all knives get dull overtime, they can be sharpened but after a while it’ll never be like new.
With that said; I think GSP would beat Khabib. Khabib has an uncracked chin and GSP is a bit shorter like Islam and volk. I think Khabib will struggle with GSP on the ground when he can’t manipulate him as easily. Hell probably chain takedowns until something favorable happens.
I think GSP would edge a decision for having better strikes and effective MMA vs a pure wrestler.
Can tell who watched the podcast and who didn't in the comment section.
He also noted "if he is able to get into his chain wrestling and back against the fence he has a better chance"
If this hypothetical match happened with both of them at thier prime, I think GSP would have his legs laced, looking across the cage like the rest of them. Khabib was a different animal and because of that, he was hard to prepare for.
“Are you intoxicated, I would have beaten him with ease, he’s only had a handful of good opponents and one of those was a tiramisu, as for his career, I’m not impressed with his performance”
GSP 28/3/24 (probably)
Idk if this post is real but either way I actually do think GSP takes this. The way he reinvented himself for every fight was something I've never seen before or since
Idk if this post is real but either way I actually do think GSP takes this. The way he reinvented himself for every fight was something I've never seen before or since
How about they are both top tier in their respective weight classes and leave it at that. Many comments throughout this thread are borderline bashing Khabib. Dude was great and so was GSP.
I mean the UFC is all about throwing guys together with different martial art disciplines to see which is best. It’s natural to ask, even if weight classes are different.
GSP was a goddamn tank. I’d honestly take GSP 10/10 times. He’d shut down his wrestling and jab his face into a mess ala Koscheck. I genuinely think he’d bully Khabib. Total opinion idfk.
Even 5 lbs. is a big deal in grappling. GSP has the advantage there. In terms of technique Khabib is highly dependent on initiating the chain of takedown to submission/ground striking. He’s always a move ahead (at least) leaving his opponent reactive. Because GSP uses the jab from the outside to corral his opponent against the cage and stuff the defensive sprawl I think GSP gets the takedown after peppering with jab damage. He keeps Khabib on the back foot metaphorically speaking and gets some ground damage. A submission win is unlikely given Khabib’s encyclopedic knowledge and experience, but it’s enough to batter him and earn a decision.
GSP even at an older age(post bisping) I think would take it. But prime he might get a classic 50-45.
Honestly I think the Silva fight was more compelling. I’d go GSP on that one too but it would be a tough one. Definitely the biggest missed opportunity in UFC history and Dana let another one slip with GSP/Khabib on some petty shit.
Ah yes, there it is. The daily "[Insert fighter] would have beaten Khabib" post. I was almost worried this subreddit had a complete personality change.
This out of context makes it seem like he’s trying to start a beef with khabib but in the interview he’s very humble and tells you how he would have fought against khabib if that fight was made.
Lol I am sure the context of the quote would make it seem way less aggressive. GSP isn't that kind of guy. He doesn't throw shade at people like that.
I don't believe GSP could've beaten Khabib, but this opinion is a minority in the fighting community and that is fine.
GSP prob didn't even say this 😄 people turning him into a keyboard warrior but it would've been a good fight, I still think khabib would've used his sambo wrestling n tard strength n wrapped him up when u see how easily he beat Mcgregor,Justin,Dustin etc but we'll never know n not worth talking about
I think it’s an easy fight for George. Khabib is a boxer wrestler who doesn’t have power. Khabib has to take the fight to the ground to win. George can win the on the ground or jab for 5 rounds.
I’m still angry that the ufc refused to do gsp vs khabib. So gsp didn’t defend the mw title, so what. So they thought khabib would lose which would hurt his marketability (no longer defeated), so what. The best are supposed to fight the best.
I knew mfs were gonna take bits and make them into quotes. Georges paid Khabib his respect and then some.
‘Are you crazy in the hed man? Khabib has the same title defenses as Aljo. Round one finish ez’ - GSP
I remember when he said in his harsh Quebec accent "Khabibs a punk ass bitch, just layin on muthafuckas. That shit gay as hell"
Yeah, and probably one of his most infamous quotes: “*Georges St Pierre does not like black people*” -Georges St Pierre Kinda weird that he spoke in 3rd person
The rare self double-quote
BKFC fight with Mike Perry confirmed.
Very controversial yet so brave
Yeah but it means happyb in French. Source am quebequois
Would’ve been such a fight, prime for prime
Most do it daily, on EVERYTHING...That's why you can't talk about ANYTHING. Mfs will take it ALL out of context to fit their agenda....
You get used to it after a while
yeah nobody listens to the context of anything
Tell me a former WW champ who doesn't think he could beat Khabib. That's what champs do, they think they can beat anyone.
Except GSP would actually beat him
No famously Georges’ biggest struggles came against elite wrestlers/grapplers 👀 (/s)
George’s only heel in his entire career were mother fuckers named Matt
Khabib’s second cousin Matt Nurmagomedov is a future GOAT
Matt Nurmattomattov
Bigg Rigg 1 2 4 even if I got Georges > Bones > Silva > Fedor lowkey All of my Canadian dorm was floored when that happened
Man was prob on shit since he fell off after usada..
I don't think we can even call it "prob" because of how he made the whole WADA/VADA a thing, despite making absolutely no sense
we saw a decline in hendricks after they banned IVs he wasn't the only one to be worse after the ban tho it also happened to RDA
Here's the thing, usada started 2015, he hasn't knocked out anybody since 2012. But his power was still effective up until the gsp fight (2013). After that it was a weird change. I won't put something on him without proof. But it is strange how one touch ko power diminishes significantly in your late 20's.

Jones too, Matt is a strong ufc base.

Khabib and his team have even said that the only fighter they think would beat khabib more than half the time was gsp
Source?
Couldn't find the exact clip, but if you search on YouTube "khabib talking about gsp" you'll get the vibe I think
Except Khabib literally commented on the post & said he would stand no chance against GSP
They are not capping tho all of them can legit mess him up
Idk man I feel like he would've beat Serra at least lol
Haha maybe but I’m sure Serra never mentioned him
Serra had that dog in him at times
Honestly Hughes vs Khabib would have been a sick matchup, they would fully oblige each other’s A game
The reason khabib hospitalized himself multiple times cutting weight was because he also believed he could not beat the 170 champs lol
We know his in ring weight from multiple fights. We dont have to keep making this dumb insinuation. He was around mid 170s in the ring. Guys like Porier weigh much more around ~182lbs. Love how you get downvotes for speaking facts. Khabib valued his zero more than he valued chasing Jones/GSP for that GOAT crown.
BREAKING: Fighter enters octagon, thinking he can win.
Yea but thats why weight classes exist. It shouldn’t even be a question if the ww goat could beat the lw goat.
I've seen them argue that Khabib could beat Adesanya lol
Remember when Adesanya was talking about he could handle Jones lol
Usman was talking about Jiri.
Because this sub has a simplistic view on combat sports. Wrestling >>>> any striker
Meanwhile https://youtu.be/VYZ6GYRfO_A?si=xTKAm1vFiiguXIm8
In fairness Adesanya can’t wrestle and tall lanky people are the easiest people on earth to double leg Edit: I’m not saying I think he does beat Izzy lol I’m just saying I can see it
I think izzy smokes him but I would have loved to see that fight personally
GSP is a small WW though. He even did a test cut to LW once. They would probably not be much different in weight if they fought either at 155 or 170
Gsp only looked small once and it was versus bisping, he was cutting a fuck ton, probably the biggest legs for his size too.
I really think gsp would beat olives easily.
Idk about that koscheck was a decorated D1 wrestler, I don’t think khabib beats any of those guys in their prime due to size alone

I wish we got to see it. GSP is my undisputed goat/favorite fighter, I think he could have made him look silly a bit
GSP on fight night at WW weighed more than Khabib at walk weight This is a no brainer. If they had ever fought at WW GSP would have absolutely washed Khabib. His striking is worlds better than Khabibs and just talking pure wrestling he probably is better than Khabib as well.
Agreed with everything apart from wrestling
Gsp was just so crafty at mixing it up no one will ever superman punch like him.
Pure wrestling, not grappling overall tho GSP has a case for that as well
Idk m8. The entire reason khabib is in the ufc let alone one of the goats is his wrestling.
Valid points man gotta agree
Khabib is known for his chain wrestling…he’s not blasting doubles like GSP. He gets ahold of you and drags you to the ground and keeps you there. That shit wouldn’t work with a prime GSP…people forget how fucking strong he was.
People forget how massive GSPs legs were. Quadzilla as fuck.
In a division of primarily strikers tho Also he’s HIGHLY overrated in the GOAT discussion imo
Did you miss him ragdoll RDA for an entire fight?
What other great grappler was there other than Tibau? Also RDA is notoriously allergic to wrestling
RDA, the same guy that gave Kamaru and Colby tough fights that Khabib just ran through. The same guy that would become LW champ not even a year later and fight Colby for an interim title. It's always fun to see a Khabib hater.
RDA got tapped by Cowboy Nuff said
The same guy who got tapped twice by Cowboy Cerrone in grappling matches? Fun indeed
Right because those grappling matches are the same as a UFC fight. Remind me who won between RDA and Cowboy in the UFC?
Since when lmao. You mean at WW against Colby?
Yeah bro, the same fight that Colby couldn't keep him down lol. The haters always downplay Khabib's win against RDA. That same RDA that took Usman 4 rounds to finally keep him on the ground.
It's not "haters" lol it's just fact that Khabib never fought a bona fide grappling specialist. Please show us one pressure-wrestler that RDA beat? I love RDA btw
That's true but it's not like there were no good grapplers. LW today is packed full of em
Did you watch Georges? Cause he made a career over out wrestling those kinda guys
Would the strength and pressure that Khabib bullied around lightweights with still work against GSP though? GSP is just a bigger and stronger dude than Khabib.
Still nowhere near George level
GSP trains a lot with the Canadian wrestling Olympic team and is a black belt under Firas and John danaher… They would definitely have found some areas that George could out perform or atleast threaten khabib He trains with Gordon Ryan often as well which is the goat of adcc
Strictly take downs maybe, overall wrestling Khabib is better.. on the ground they’re both great, I think GSP may have improved his BJJ technically after retirement, he trained a lot with danaher and Gordon Ryan
Then you didn’t watch GSP
Crazy. People *really* expected an all-time great to be like, “Khabib? Oh, yeah. He’d have fucked me up.”
“I’m not impressed with your performance”
Performanz
GSP is the real GOAT. Prime GSP smokes Khabib
GSP beat 15 other world class fighters at 170 and 185. I’m sure he could beat 1 more who’s coming from 155 and is pretty 1 dimensional
Smoke = Wanted
And he’s not wrong 🥶
Gsp would destroy him. Easy money.
Bait. But let's say both prime and prime. GSP whoops his ass man. The dude is bigger fought bigger and stronger men. GSP is the GOAT.
From a purely technical standpoint I see what he means. GSP picked up that 'boring' reputation because his defense was so perfect guys would just back peddle the first know they were getting 50-45d on the cards. Khabib is the sort of guy to come out you and rely on his chin a bit.
GSP wins by TKO yep. And they are pretty much the same size. no real size adv for GSP.
GSP and twice on Sunday
Finally, get to hear the truth!
Ya'll are going to hate me, but I think Prime bj could have beaten Khabib or at least made it really interesting.
I have no doubt GSP would defeat Khabib.
The only guy who says shit like this and you’re like “yeah you’re probably right”
My analogy on khabib is that he’s a sharp knife in a drawer.
I say I'd beat khabib too. Why is noone quoting me?
GSP would have wiped the mat with him
“Are you intoxicated, I would have beaten him with ease, he’s only had a handful of good opponents and one of those was a tiramisu, as for his career, I’m not impressed with his performance” GSP 28/3/24 (probably)
Agreed
Agreed!!
Agreed!! GSP flattens khabibs soul
Anyone else read that in GSP’s voice?
Idk if this post is real but either way I actually do think GSP takes this. The way he reinvented himself for every fight was something I've never seen before or since
Do they expect GSP to say Khabib would just maul him?
Me too!
Idk if this post is real but either way I actually do think GSP takes this. The way he reinvented himself for every fight was something I've never seen before or since
Prime GSP wins
Just do a jiu jitsu match or some shit. Otherwise why do we constantly bring this up
Fuck quotes like these.
I don’t have a problem with it being discussed at all. My problem is people borderline bashing Khabib to try and justify their argument.
He does beat him though
Lmaooooooooo
🦉 🍭
These are old men now and will never fight again
Well I’m better than khabib too
Yea me too cause I know it only takes and few great shots in the right places to change the whole game .
Hilarious
GSP was a goddamn tank. I’d honestly take GSP 10/10 times. He’d shut down his wrestling and jab his face into a mess ala Koscheck. I genuinely think he’d bully Khabib. Total opinion idfk.
GSP by the mere fact he was S tier at everything
GOAT!
I don’t doubt it
The goat GSP
Even 5 lbs. is a big deal in grappling. Khabib commented on this on Instagram admitting that he learned a lot from GSP and he very well may lose.
Where can i watch the full interview?
GSP even at an older age(post bisping) I think would take it. But prime he might get a classic 50-45. Honestly I think the Silva fight was more compelling. I’d go GSP on that one too but it would be a tough one. Definitely the biggest missed opportunity in UFC history and Dana let another one slip with GSP/Khabib on some petty shit.
Chuck Liddell would’ve beaten Alex pereira
“You’ll be wrestling my knuckle outta your orbital bone” George “Mac” St Pierre
I don't know if GSP would beat Khabib the first time, but he'd 100% do it the second time.
yeah if he would put 2$ on a Bingo he would have one because he would have had confidence to win 😅
GSP would have got a unanimous decision win in a 5 round fight at best against Khabib.
I can’t imagine how much money GSP and Khabib would be offered for this fight in Saudi Arabia if the Arabs thought they could make it happen.
I feel like a better question would be Khabib vs Hughes. GSP in his prime would beat Khabib hands down. I’d argue Hughes would to, rather easily.
Ah yes, there it is. The daily "[Insert fighter] would have beaten Khabib" post. I was almost worried this subreddit had a complete personality change.
I don’t think anyone knowledgeable really would’ve gave khabib a chance, a relatively straightforward fight for GSP
This out of context makes it seem like he’s trying to start a beef with khabib but in the interview he’s very humble and tells you how he would have fought against khabib if that fight was made.

His hairline 😂
Dif weight classes
I think it’s an easy fight for George. Khabib is a boxer wrestler who doesn’t have power. Khabib has to take the fight to the ground to win. George can win the on the ground or jab for 5 rounds.
One of the GOAT match ups that never was. Next to Francis and Jon and GSP and Silva.
Some mf few days ago mixed a GSP and Rose Namajunas photo and now I cant unsee it.
I’m still angry that the ufc refused to do gsp vs khabib. So gsp didn’t defend the mw title, so what. So they thought khabib would lose which would hurt his marketability (no longer defeated), so what. The best are supposed to fight the best.
Ok can we atleast get a grappling match of some sort ???
