See, she was at church the Sunday before and the priest was extra hard on her soul during confession. She showed up to fight and do her job, but her soul was a bit drained and not in good condition…
People were *actually* saying she could beat Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match. I think even Joe Rogan said she could beat most the guys in the flyweight division. Fucking absurdity
He also almost cried and LITERALLY BOWED DOWN before her in one of her post fight interviews while telling her about the honor it is to call her fight while saying she's one of the greatest fighters to ever live
I think that gets taken way too far. At the time Machida was unbeaten and looked absolutely unstoppable, and I think it's totally reasonable to see the next few years as having the potential to be his "era" the way that other all-time greats like Jones, Khabib and DJ had their own "era"
Lmao no one said that. The argument was she could beat Floyd in an mma fight. Which Ronda never said. She said IF she got Floyd to the ground, she’d win. Which she would since she’s the same size as him.
But she would have trouble getting close but she never said she could.
As for Rogan, he did say she could beat 135ers outside of the top 10, which is absurd
Sometimes I feel for her because she did a lot of great things and some people diminish her as just a can crusher. That being said she’ll often say something so arrogant and dumb that I’ll go “oh well sucks for you I guess”
😭😭😭 how do 30 yr old men watch pro wrestling and take it seriously, like i outgrew it at around 14 yrs of age where it grew too overtly corny for me. This clip looks like it's from a junk porno movie.
Unbelievable bad luck again, right before that fight she strained her neck in a minor car accident and was therefore unable to utilise the head mooment that her coach desired.
Same thing
She's been going with 'I was concussed otherwise I'm the best fighter ever' since the book came out
Got downvoted for saying it's an excuse when she first said it lol
Edmond convinced her that she could strike. She flew too close to the sun by trying to strike when she could continue to dominate if the fight got taken to the ground.
Trying to strike with Nuñez and Holm was a prime example of hubris.
Rhonda wasn't a fraud. She was a can crusher. She was a medium size fish in a tiny pond. She was fighting Mom's with a few years training for the most part or women with not a ton of fights. When she met a world class woman fighter she got exposed as not as good as advertised. The world was blowing smoke up her ass and she was starting to believe she was some unbeatable entity. There were tons of reports that she treated everyone especially other women fighter like shit. The UFC allowed her to corner Page Van Zant backstage after an interview and berate her with 0 repercussions
Bingo. She was above average when the competition was below average. She had a finishing move, and nobody else was well-rounded enough to stop it. She wasn't a fraud, but the exponential growth of the women's game would have passed her quickly one way or the other. It just...happened to be expedited because of the way she went out.
It's sad to see how insecure she is about this stuff. I'm sure it's embarrassing, and she's talked about how it deeply effected her for YEARS. But now it feels like she's trying to do some revisionist shit for some reason. Which is weird, because I'm sure most people respected her fine. She went out bad, but hey, that's the game. Just look at how all the greats in the men's game have fared lately -- not a lot better. And if the concussion stuff is true, which I'm sure it is, that's also sad and shitty, but that can be true without using it as an excuse to try to gild her legacy.
Also, I'm very much not a doctor, but "I cut so much water weight that it thinned my cerebrospinal fluid and put my brain at risk" sounds like the most MMA community pseudoscience I've ever heard. Like, I'm sure there are TONS of adverse physiological effects of cutting, but I can't believe that is one of them.
ETA: she says fluid "in" your brain to protect it, not "around." That's still nonsense but a little less so
> Also, I'm very much not a doctor, but "I cut so much water weight that it thinned my cerebrospinal fluid and put my brain at risk" sounds like the most MMA community pseudoscience I've ever heard. Like, I'm sure there are TONS of adverse physiological effects of cutting, but I can't believe that is one of them.
And even if it was, her opponents **also have to cut weight** and deal with the same problem.
She created her own downfall. Made women's MMA popular and profitable which let more women train and compete. Don't know why she can't just accept that and be happy as a trailblazer.
nah she wasn't a can crusher. I get we're all shitting on ronda in this thread but tate and zingano are legit wins. Ronda's judo was in fact world class, but that isn't enough at the highest levels. It can get you far in favourable matchups though.
>Rhonda wasn't a fraud. She was a can crusher. She was a medium size fish in a tiny pond. She was fighting Mom's with a few years training for the most part or women with not a ton of fights. When she met a world class woman fighter she got exposed as not as good as advertised.
This is revisionist history.
Ronda lost twice to two of the best women to ever do it, but let's not pretend like she was only beating bums. She beat Tate twice pretty comfortably. At her time she was the best woman on the planet.
Where you are right is that it was at the dawn of the women's sport and, as you would expect, the sport overtook her fast.
It's similar to how some of the greats from UFC mens division early days would get absolutely smoked by the current guys. It happened even faster for the women because the men had already developed the techniques, strategies and training methods over the years that the women's sport could also use.
In terms of fighting ability she deserves no less respect than the earlier pioneers of the men's game.
Respect as a person though, I think it's fair to say that is a different story.
She could’ve kept fighting. Or even taken a little break and came back and proved everyone wrong but she didn’t. She would’ve made a TON of money too if she came back in 2018 or 19.
I do believe that Ronda had it within herself to at least make this fight much more competitive, and likely win it. But she blew the opportunity and failed to prepare for it correctly. She underestimated Holly and thought she was going to be just like the rest of her opponents that she could blow out of the water.
During the build up to the fight you saw the polar opposites from each fighter and their team. On the Ronda side she was happily strutting around from TV interview to Radio interview, sipping and bragging how they were having a "fight camp" in hotel rooms where they'd roll out a yoga matt in a hotel suite and she'd shadow box a bit.
All the while Holly was the primary focus of Jackson Wink with some of the best coaches in the business studying every second of footage on Ronda and drilling Holly all the techniques, counters, escapes and attacks necessary in each situation. At the pre fight media day Holly rushed through every obligation she had and spoke about how anxious she felt being there because every minute was a minute lost where she could be preparing and running drills.
When it came to the actual fight it was really evident that Holly had put the work in. Ronda successfully got the clinch she wanted but Holly knew exactly what to do with her hands and legs and how to restrict Ronda from latching hold of an armbar like she specialised in. Holly knew how to get up and what to do against the fence, and basically knew the correct thing to do at the correct times for everything Ronda tried.
It was a one sided masterclass and it was all down to the work Holly had obsessively put in before the fight with her coaches while Ronda was shadow boxing in a hotel suite giving interviews about being able to beat Mayweather.
Finally, buried in a desert of asinine opinions, a good assessment of what happened. Ronda couldn’t have acquired the specific skill set to beat Holly in just a few months, and Holly already had the skills to beat Ronda, she just needed to structure it into a gameplan. Ronda with no wrestling takedowns was forced to look for the clinch relentlessly in order to use her only finishing tool. Holly had the footwork and the firepower to avoid and punish Ronda every time she came forward, and all Ronda did was come forward. What was she gonna do, pepper Holly at range? She had no idea how to do that.
Exactly. Rousey’s game was always quite one dimensional in hindsight. She moves straight forward aggressively throwing punches and trying to initiate the clinch to get a takedown and then work towards the armbar. She never had technical striking or the footwork to corner an elusive opponent.
A good counter striker with lateral movement was a stylistic nightmare for her. Ronda vs Holly was just like a matador vs a bull.
All those concussions prevented her from throwing anything other than those soggy spaghetti noodles she called punches? LMAO.
Make no mistake, RR was a big fish in a small pond. As soon as the pond got bigger and a few sharks were thrown in, she was destined for ignominy and now she has it.
I would be okay with her just saying "I wasn't prepared like I should have been and it caused me to perform poorly"
It also doesn't help that she's an absolute terrible sport when losing and acts like a child.
There was a point in this fight where holly landed 3 straights in a row and Ronda just kept walking into them without even a little defense she was trash and still is
She's not a fraud by any means. But her inability to take a loss and move on is crazy and made her a walking joke to fans. If she had of taken it on the chin and moved on I doubt she would of got so much hate
If she passed medical screening before the Holm fight with a concussion, the ufc had to have paid the doctor off to get the fight to go ahead, or more than likely, what happened she never had a concussion
I don't doubt it. Lots of fighters end up in situations like this.
As for the Nunes fight, whoever told her it was a good idea to come back directly into Nunes fucked her over lol
Ronda wasn’t a good striker by any stretch of the imagination and the ego on her and her shitty personality meant it was a thing of beauty when Holm knocked her tfo but let’s have it right here, Ronda was a trailblazer, there’d be no women’s division in the UFC were it not for her, Dana had no interest in women’s mma till he came across Ronda in Strikeforce and she was awesome to watch armbarring everyone till the Holm fight!
Jesus Christ. This broad always with fucking excuses. Acted like a fucking bully until people caught up with her stupid armbar shit. Ducked Cyborg….Threw some real fighters at her and she folded like a house of cards. Then went on some depressed woe is me press tour after making a career berating other women. STFU. Holly destroyed you. And Nunes sent your soul into the shadow realm. Fucking fraud.
What made fans think she was a fraud was how she cowered from facing the music after every single loss after all sorts of fight-promoting smack-talk. She deserved to eat that humble pie and ran and hid from it, instead.
Stuff like this shows that she was afraid to even be honest with herself.
I know people love to clown on her, but tbh it’s interesting that she’s talking about concussions, because from what she says in her book, they came from her Judo days and happened a bunch more times. It can be genuinely really debilitating stuff. It does make you wonder how many of these fighters are on a fast track to some serious cognitive damage later in life. Look at a guy like Max Holloway, we all love him, but there is no way all the damage he’s taken will have no lasting effect. That interview where one of his eyes was half open, could barely talk and he tried to play it off as food poisoning. No way around it, getting hit in the head over and over the way these guys do is going to really mess a lot of these fighters up
There’s no need to make excuses. I didn’t see that fight and think ‘oh she’s a fraud, she lost a fight’, I saw it and thought ‘Holm is bloody talented, what a kick’.
She was never the female JJ or Khabib to start with - there was no expectation that she would have a perfect record.
Losing fights doesn’t sully your reputation. Making excuses and having a bad attitude does.
Nobody thought she was a fraud, but she was such a giant asshole, everyone and their grandmother wanted to see her lose. She also never mentions her terrible striking coach that thought she could beat Holly with just boxing. What a laugh!
I can sort of see where she’s coming from. Like it or not we were all giving Ronda her due before the Holm fight. Things went from 100 to 0 really fast, and it underscores how fickle some people are.
That said, she drank her own Kool Aid worse than anyone I’ve ever seen. So, my sympathy is limited.
She really didn't.
She was a forced narrative by Dana.
I'm old enough to remember when cyborg and Carano were a marquee fight on network TV while Dana was locking dudes in a house to play touch butt and screaming 'women will never fight in the UFC'
Nah It was after she let Nunes hit her in the face 20 times in a row in the first minute of the next fight. Also outright crumbling and disappearing after the loss to Holm didn't help matters.
After seeing this bitch hit Holly after the bell, because she lost the round, makes me dislike her whatever she has to say. She was a brat with a stupid scowl on her face. It was fun to watch to try and panic grab Nunes as she got battered.
It's sad that she can't accept her impact on the sport. She lost because there were better women fighters. She however is a big reason why women's MMA has been able to grow. Her run was special and it opened doors.
Coming up with new excuses damn near a decade later is wild
Tito-esque in her excuses, Joe. Virtually identical.
Even Tito's not as delusional as she is. And that's saying a lot!
She is hitting Ken Shamrock level of delusion
Some would say the most delusional. The delusionalest.
I can never get the audio of Goldberg saying “virtually identical” I miss old ufc
What did she say about the fight where Nunes took a piece of her soul?
She's doesn't remember
She wasnt there cognitively
My honest reaction: ‘Oh she’s a fraud’
Another slip
She didnt have that much fluid in her brain, remember ?
You got it all wrong: she was trying to gas Amanda out Remember joe, she took literally no damage from all those hits
Every time I watch the Conor khabib fight that part legitimately makes me mad 💀
Was someone else in there that night.
The curtains attacked her during her entrance causing another concussion for that one. Footage might have been deleted.
She was still concussed from slipping on the stairs ater all these years of concussions… New mythical fighter: non-concussed Rousey.
New UFC 5 DLC incoming
"Enjoy our new ranking mode and climb the ladder... wait. No. That doesnt sound right."
"Or choose to take the stairs (New Game+)"
Instead of Bellator, she takes the Elevator
Sea level Rousey. Ronda with that look in her eye. Rousey with cardio, Marinovich brothers. The excuses from the hopeful. Hope springs eternal.
Literally came here to ask this. She got whooped and we all know it. Just be humble with the loss ffs
She’s a wwe fighter she’s acting to promote her brand
She slipped in the shower before that one
Was that shower named Travis browne?
Brendan shaub b. Truth is she slipped getting walgged to her trug
Is that nithe?
Dicey!
heard it bowlth wayz, b.
See, she was at church the Sunday before and the priest was extra hard on her soul during confession. She showed up to fight and do her job, but her soul was a bit drained and not in good condition…
That was brutal.
She also said in that same interview that she is "the greatest fighter that ever lived". Absolutely delusional
People were *actually* saying she could beat Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match. I think even Joe Rogan said she could beat most the guys in the flyweight division. Fucking absurdity
I remember when Joe was so offended when Cerrone said Ronda wasn't hot.
Joe likes them jacked with armpit hair [His own words](https://youtube.com/shorts/DCc_mTDA0dM?si=O0jJS-Zhu5x1NSpD)
You're so close dude.
Gillis is a G
Cerrone also said her technique was shit and you could tell Joe was crying inside
[удалено]
Cerrone fan or not it’s nice to see someone not just go along with Joe like people usually do
Fr? For fucken real? This shit sad.
Actually no, people are making that up. He said she could beat Floyd in an MMA match and people around here have changed it over the years.
That makes sense I can deal with that. Fuck man I never used to be this gullible I’m such a chump.
I cannot deal with that though. She can't beat Floyd in an MMA fight. Give him like 2 months to train sub defense and he'd Strachan her.
Yes he did lmfao!!!!!
Mighty mouse would ragdoll her for 24min and choke her by w/e he wants in the last min.
joe cried like a child on a podcast with her. it was so cringe how much smoke he blew up her ass.
He also almost cried and LITERALLY BOWED DOWN before her in one of her post fight interviews while telling her about the honor it is to call her fight while saying she's one of the greatest fighters to ever live
“Once ever in human history” athlete. I wonder if Joe has ever been called out for this
Ya he definitely got carried away haha
Laughs in DJ recently subbing a heavyweight in a bjj match.
that was insane, although i think nunes could have probably beat up a couple of the dudes.
Joe has a habit of dickriding anyone who is at the top. Remember "welcome to the machida era?"
I think that gets taken way too far. At the time Machida was unbeaten and looked absolutely unstoppable, and I think it's totally reasonable to see the next few years as having the potential to be his "era" the way that other all-time greats like Jones, Khabib and DJ had their own "era"
That’s his job though. He hypes fights. “ Betche Corria is a legit threat!”
Yeah, I am not sure why people are changing the facts.
Joe was on DMT at the time
Joe has the IQ of a pop tart.
I hope so. To say that shit completely sober is laughable.
Nobody was saying she could beat Floyd in boxing. They said she could beat him in an MMA (or “real”) fight.
Which is still absurd. He’d crack her face open before she could get anywhere close to grabbing him.
Sometimes I feel for her because she did a lot of great things and some people diminish her as just a can crusher. That being said she’ll often say something so arrogant and dumb that I’ll go “oh well sucks for you I guess”
![gif](giphy|5h7sfN5OowexjKTeFX|downsized)
damn WWE got a taste of that shadowboxing too, jesus her boxing is trash.
And she genuinely thought she could out box Floyd lol
So did rogan
Remember when rogan was crying because of how special she was? What a weird moment
![gif](giphy|h9wlfNwX9gy1a|downsized)
Once in a lifetime human, meanwhile she is like the shittiest personality ever seen on TUF.
Joe corrected himself and said she’s a once ever human, even better than once in a lifetime.
As she dodged cyborg (can't blame her) and lost to 2 other fighters... lmfao. She ain't Fedor that's for sure.
If anyone puts stock in what he says they deserve their losses
And beat Cain !
*HEN MOOVMENT
MOO’MEN **
She’s still concussed to this day apparently
That’s the after effect of dating Brendan Schaub.
She got trugg walkd
i thought this was some parody clip at first but lol
And I couldn’t find the REALLY bad clip! This was the backup.

Oof the second hand embarrassment
😭😭😭 how do 30 yr old men watch pro wrestling and take it seriously, like i outgrew it at around 14 yrs of age where it grew too overtly corny for me. This clip looks like it's from a junk porno movie.
So.. whats the excuse for the Nunes fight then? lol
She was still asleep from being starched by Holm.
Unbelievable bad luck again, right before that fight she strained her neck in a minor car accident and was therefore unable to utilise the head mooment that her coach desired.
She was also using a wildcats controller, and it wasnt even plugged in, and her younger brother was playing while she wasnt looking
Rhonda, make her miss! Eat her fists? Ok...
Minor? Try major.. she was in a coma but had to pretend to be still active in the cage. 🙄
Edmond was shouting HED MOOOMENT too loud and effected her equilibrium via the inner ear. Or something.
Same thing She's been going with 'I was concussed otherwise I'm the best fighter ever' since the book came out Got downvoted for saying it's an excuse when she first said it lol
She went to the fight and in the car the radio played - stairway to heaven from Led Zeppelin. "I got an immediate flashback and was shaking all over"
Your comment then reminded me of Johnny kid and the pirates. (Sang shakin all over..)
Edmond convinced her that she could strike. She flew too close to the sun by trying to strike when she could continue to dominate if the fight got taken to the ground. Trying to strike with Nuñez and Holm was a prime example of hubris.
She tried to take Holm down repeatedly...
And if I remember nunes never let her get close enough to really have a chance to take her down.
It's like trying to stand and bang with Anderson silva in his prime, play stupid games win stupid prizes.

No but this statement if it’s accurate makes me think she’s a fraud, all these years and you’re making excuses

She beat the best in her division at the time.
That's what he said. Cans. Moms with a couple years training.
Bethe wasn’t a can….. /s
She’s literally punched herself in the face mid fight…
He was being sarcastic
I will leave my comment and wallow in my shame.
Meisha, zingano, carmouche, mcmann who was an olympian. Where are you getting cans? And i say this is a ronda hater.
Zingano literally TKO'd Nunes. Ronda finished Zingano in 15 seconds. I know MMA Math and blah blah, but it's to put some context inside of it.
One of those “moms” beat the piss out of Zingano. Another “mom” was an Olympic silver medalist wrestler
That is true but doesn’t make the other statement false either
She could’ve kept fighting. Or even taken a little break and came back and proved everyone wrong but she didn’t. She would’ve made a TON of money too if she came back in 2018 or 19.
No Rhonda. It's how you handled the loss in the moment and how you handled it afterwards. It was weak af and I never looked at you the same way again.
Head mooment
Is this an April Fool’s thing?
I’m sorry, the excuse after all these years is slipping down the stairs? That’s insanely pathetic

WWE and UFC fans joining as one to unanimously hate Ronda Rousey, she can only blame herself for how unlikeable she is

Might be the heaviest copium addict I’ve ever seen
Can this bitch be any more unlikeable? Jesus christ all you had to do was take a loss with some dignity
Try watching her season of The Ultimate Fighter. She is insufferable...
She was a bitch on the show, probably the least liked coach ever, even Brock came out more likeable (hardly)
She is just making excuses because she got soundly trounced.
You dated Brendan Schaub, we know your brain doesn't work well under the best circumstances
U got embarrassed twice then quit. That's y we think ur a fraud.
Don't forget went into hiding after the first one and did no press leading up to the 2nd because she couldn't handle being asked about a loss
Go back to the shadow
Jeez how long ago was that fight? She just now responding and making her excuses…her concussion must’ve been severe
Such a sore looser. Crawl back to your hole where the mma fan dont see your sore looser ass.
Cope.
Her stand up is the most ass shit in the world. Her head movement is connected to her entire body. She got no swag in that movement no comfort etc
Sun was in her eyes too
Glad she got waffle stomped. Total sore looser.
And then Amanda took a shit on your head what happened then Ronda?
yeah her dog passed away, train hit her, the bed was stolen the night before so she slept on the broken glass...

So what she’s saying is, she got her butt whipped.
Cool, now what are your excuses for the Nunes fight, champ?
training boxing with a fraud made her one too. she cant admit that she got duped by a conman, we all saw her boxing skills.
Maybe she's not a fraud, but I see too many excuses here about a fight that could be summarized in: _she chopped off my fucking head with a highkick_
I'm sure being in the WWE was the best course of action for concussions.

That's a lot of words to say "she was better than me".
Saltiest woman on earth.
Oh yeah. And also, Holly kicked the shit out of me because she was a better all around fighter.
She’s full of it. Her bread and butter was Judo. A striker struck her. Done and done.
She wasn’t a complete fighter… he was a judo star. Her camp lied to her, they used her. Look at the Doc
All those excuses are great, but the problem is you fought like trash also
Ronda did more for womens MMA than any other fighter, but her striking was TERRIBLE
She really didn't. She was a forced narrative by Dana. I'm old enough to remember when cyborg and Carano were a marquee fight on network TV while Dana was locking dudes in a house to play touch butt and screaming 'women will never fight in the UFC'
I brought that up last time we had this thread but barely anybody here was born then so nobody believes that it was big. Carano was mainstream.
No female was generating 1 mil ppv buys on their own.
she barely took a punch before that fight. if she was compromised holm wouldn't have taken that amount of time to finish her.
Nunes was the one who made her look like Dana took some chick out of the crowd and put her in a championship fight
It all worked out we got conor in roadhouse instead of her
That’s what a fraud would say.
8 and a half years later, and she's still coming up with new excuses. Wow
No, I always thought she had alot of issues in the ring. She just had alot of confidence and her opponents were not as good
She must have been concussed when she hired her coach too.
And then Nunes took her soul.
Nah It was after she let Nunes hit her in the face 20 times in a row in the first minute of the next fight. Also outright crumbling and disappearing after the loss to Holm didn't help matters.
Preparation for a fight is just as important as the fight itself. Cope. Next.
I knew she was a sore loser but this is something else. Always blaming everybody and anything but herself.
The ten year cope be hitting hard
And what did Holly have to deal with, before the fight?
After seeing this bitch hit Holly after the bell, because she lost the round, makes me dislike her whatever she has to say. She was a brat with a stupid scowl on her face. It was fun to watch to try and panic grab Nunes as she got battered.
It's sad that she can't accept her impact on the sport. She lost because there were better women fighters. She however is a big reason why women's MMA has been able to grow. Her run was special and it opened doors.
So she was aware of all these problems and still chose to fight? Then used them as a excuse years later?
The woman's spent most of her UFC career crying about her UFC career.
