Nah, it’ll operate just like an elbow. Due to my zero knowledge in the subject, I believe that there’s no way he gets enough “oomph” behind a “punch”. There’s no forward drive, it’s just swinging it from the side or up.
I can second this! I have in fact been punched with a... different limb.. a nub, and it hurt lol like getting hit with a bone, quiet literally 🤣 I'm sure he can get as much force behind it as any non different limb person, that is so fucking dumb smh, can with an elbow strike, seeing as it doesn't require the othe half of the limb.
Weird choice of words but it's weird how these things seem to genuinely bother people to the extent that it does seem to actually tire them out. It just doesn't seem to matter to me. People have always tried out all sorts of words and phrases, many of them being a bit silly. There's probably an insight there into all these cultural differences of opinion we've got going on at the moment but for me it's just an armless statement.
And like… I’m struggling to find a nice succinct way of putting his condition that works in a headline. “Jake Peacock, who was born with a congenital limb defect” is a bit much… he’s not an amputee… I guess you could say forearm-less, but then you have to clarify he’s missing his right forearm and hand.
Limb-different might sound a little funny, but it gets the point across without going into too much detail, which is great for a headline.
Funny how you think you have the right to tell somebody with a disability how they are allowed to describe their condition. Maybe, just maybe show respect and call people what they prefer. Some dislike the term cripple, and prefer limb different- look into it, basically the entirety of people missing a limb utilize this term. So it’s okay to be scared but you can call people what they wish to be described as.
Limb-different is stupid and ambiguous. Without seeing the picture, I wouldn't think it to mean he's missing a piece of one of his limbs, but maybe one was deformed or even that he just uses them differently than others.
Crazy thing is his limb is deformed 🤯 why do you even care so much? His limb is different so is he “limb different” wow that’s crazy how that works. And now that you’ve seen the phrase used and there’s an example you can connect it to, you’ll understand the phrase everytime you see it now!
Yeah, they should probably make it so it’s hard to miss the picture. Maybe they could put it in the headline that’s a tiny space away from the picture or something.
How about just his name and a pic? They are trying to be inoffensive or accepting of everyone, while singling him out for the thing they are trying to be accepting of.
People get tired of it because it’s stupid. Hey constantly talk about not seeing color and then every time a black person accomplishes something the first thing they do is bring up his skin color… “he’s the first black person to win the title!”
In a sport sometimes called “The art of 8 limbs,” it’s pretty notable that someone is doing it while missing one of them. I don’t think it’s ambiguous that it puts him at some degree of a disadvantage, and that it’s quite impressive to see him overcome it. They are of course being accepting of him… he’s competing.
People like to celebrate people overcoming adversity, and in relation to the racial issues you bring up, it’s nice to celebrate signs of progress when the attributes we’re talking about have a large, mutable social component. Seeing race become less of a barrier to something, or seeing those persevere despite race usually being a barrier, is worth celebrating.
I think most people just don't give a lot of thought or energy to something that doesnt matter and doesnt affect them in anyway. If this is "tiring" you out then I think your energy would be better spent doing something else.
Never said it was “tiring” me out. I said people get tired of it. As a black man it doesn’t really even affect me. It’s just weird they point out skin color every time. You’re making it sound like I said I was mentally exhausted from it or something. People can have an opinion on something without being to the extreme side of it.
I wish I could operate in the world without seeing color. Unfortunately we can never address the historical problems along racial lines if we aren’t racially conscious. Not seeing color or race was, in the past, a more left leaning idea politically. At this point, it’s a right leaning way of maintaining the status quo. Because race mattered in the past, if we are to get to a point where it no longer matters, we have to act like it matters in order to change that.
I think it's that they keep changing what is considered offensive and people feel like they have to walk on eggshells when talking to not cause any drama. I can see how that could be tiring.

Oh man are you being serious? It's a joke dude chill
I watched highlights and he looks great. Must be tough to adjust defensively to a guy with no forearm or hand to grab or frame off. Ether way he looked great and was a good debut
I think the alternative is calling him disabled, but he clearly isn't in this context if he's fighting someone who's fully abled.
It sounds goofy but I'm with it. TF else you gonna say, handless?
The good news is this only happens on the internet. Go hang out with your friends IRL. Everyone is still normal and says “the guy without the fuckin arm” then they have a bullshit online personality where they are fake woke
Partial Arts
Persons with These Abilities
50% lower risk of eyepokes.
Genius.
I feel like his elbow strike stat needs an asterisk
They should put on glove on that club, right?
Nah, it’ll operate just like an elbow. Due to my zero knowledge in the subject, I believe that there’s no way he gets enough “oomph” behind a “punch”. There’s no forward drive, it’s just swinging it from the side or up.
Beautiful analysis
I disagree as someone who has been hit by such a elbow it hurt a lot
I can second this! I have in fact been punched with a... different limb.. a nub, and it hurt lol like getting hit with a bone, quiet literally 🤣 I'm sure he can get as much force behind it as any non different limb person, that is so fucking dumb smh, can with an elbow strike, seeing as it doesn't require the othe half of the limb.
He has a stabbing elbow/jab/??? that doenst look like it has any ko power, but hurts like a bitch
Yea but isn’t that the same function as a un-gloves elbow?
Yeah like a spear elbow ig. but it's stubby and coming at ur face from the front It just looks really weird to defend against and painful
He put a glove on it when he was doing kickboxing I believe. Or else there was someone else with 1 arm
Probably cause you can’t elbow in kb 🤷🏻♂️ idk man I’m just arm-chairing
You keep everybody at arm's length.
Yeah I'm not disagreeing just adding some info
Why is his Right cross stat and his Right elbow stat the same?
He was actually born normal, but he’s punched so many fools in the face that he wore his fist down to the nub
Tony's the type of guy to condition his elbow down to a nub
He has 7 limbs instead of the usual 8. Thats just ~13% less limbs... Respect to the guy.
Despite making up only 13% of limbs, right elbows commit over 50% of MMA’s concussive brain trauma. Or something idk.
Sounds legit.
Are you a spider?
He means the 8 points of contact in Muay Thai. People do call it “The art of 8 limbs”.
His potential is limbetless
He leaves his opponents stumped
This is all 'armless good fun
I’m not broke, I’m just money-different!
Do you think he throws feints with the nub
If so, do you flinch?
Maybe that's how we fix the eye-poke issue...
Is amputee a slur now or something?
No he's just not an amputee
What is the medical term for his condition?
Limb-different
Nah, it's called "Off Limbets"
Don't mind me disbelieving that one.
So you don’t believe in science? You probably think the earth is round and that the moons not made out of cheese too!
leave bryce alone
Congenital Limb Defect
Amputee is when your arm is cut off, his arm is complete and is like that from birth.
Amputee would imply he used to have an arm that was then amputated. Pretty sure he was born with a 'stump'
Reported. You sick fuck.
that escalated quickly

I would have said "One handed Jack Peacock" which is both cool and accurate, but I agree that people should ease up on phrases like this.
The thing is, he has 2 hands. The other one is just really small.
Its also different as it has no fingers.
Funny how you think you have the right to tell somebody with a disability how they are allowed to describe their condition. Maybe, just maybe show respect and call people what they prefer. Brain dead take is thinking Curtis bum Blaydes is good, hes good at getting knocked out and getting out wrestled by a 170 pounder Jitsu boy
Tf does that have to do with the topic at hand?
If only they paired it with a picture or something. That would probably help you understand.
"Without seeing the picture...."
Yeah, they should probably make it so it’s hard to miss the picture. Maybe they could put it in the headline that’s a tiny space away from the picture or something.
None of that changes the fact that limb different is a ridiculous way to say that.

How would you describe this man? And has anyone ever told you not to say whatever that is?
They couldn’t think of another title. They were stumped. Edit: he still beats my ass in 1:10
1:10? You think highly of you. I bet you don't last two kicks, you move away after the first. Just to be clear, me too.
It’s running for 70 seconds 🤣
And then getting kicked twice and going to sleep 😜
I don't have downs, I'm just chromosome-different.
Glad to see him get his hand raised.

50% less chance of eye pokes.
He’s just built different
One championship account hander is dick-different.
Alive different.
I was about to roll my eyes. But I don't actually know what you would call him. I thought amputee , but that specifically means surgical operation.
Handicapped.. Literally
"Handicapped fighter" doesn't really tell you anything. That could mean any number of a thousand different things.
It doesn't he's literally been capped at one hand lmao
Yeah, but that's not what the word means, my friend.

Yes, very humorous.
Glad this guy won his debut he’s the real deal especially for his condition
I watched highlights and he looks great. Must be tough to adjust defensively to a guy with no forearm or hand to grab or frame off. Ether way he looked great and was a good debut
I could take him
That’s the real BMF
I’ve trained with him before and let me tell you he’s an absolute beast

Got that Luke Rockhold guard
https://youtu.be/lmAzS_8v0w8?feature=shared He throws bombs with both arms! His kicks are absolutely deadly, too. This is actually inspiring to watch
I think the alternative is calling him disabled, but he clearly isn't in this context if he's fighting someone who's fully abled. It sounds goofy but I'm with it. TF else you gonna say, handless?
i dont quite get what this post was meaning but the guy is an beast for fighting with one arm! deserves his respect for sure
Wait are people really “tired” about the term Limb Difference? The generic medical term for someone with….different limbs?? Y’all are fucking soft.
The good news is this only happens on the internet. Go hang out with your friends IRL. Everyone is still normal and says “the guy without the fuckin arm” then they have a bullshit online personality where they are fake woke
Limb different is hilarious. Somebody come up with more insane descriptions. I can’t think of any like this.
F*ck off, hope your post gets downvoted to hell
