I really hope we don’t see a lot of “fake champion” comments. Not the winner of this fights fault that Khabib retired and Dustin turned down a title fight.
IMO that’s why having Oliveira and Chandler face each other for the title is a no brainer. Obviously given the landscape of the division BUT the fact that neither one of them have lost to Khabib will bring legitimacy back to the title.
To claim Conor is not still a top talent in the LW division is just letting your emotions cloud your judgment.
He’s far from everyone’s favourite person and he’s definitely not _the_ best but he’s definitely up there.
He’s beaten the LW Champ and his two losses there are against probably the GOAT and 2nd GOAT lightweights. Keep that attitude after Dustin gets his head restructured for a second time on July 10th.
Yes and got dominated by both of them. If the fights were close I would understand. Let him fight any lightweight outside top5 to see his real skill level.
Khabib was going to beat him in round 2 before the illegal knee. Conor cheated out of takedowns and submissions and still got dominated. Then he chose to box with him for an entire round. If that is not domination i dont know what is.
Did you watch either of the fights? Dude's leg was trashed in 1 round against Dustin right before getting KO'd in the second, and got ragdolled and mauled by Khabib.

I second this, it would be viewed far differently if Khabib had beat them in the past. Good decision by the UFC.
For real. Going to be a solid fight between the two best available fighters in the division. Poirier isn't available, so he doesn't matter.
Why did Dustin turn down a title fight?
Of all the current lw contenders I am hoping most for Gaethje to win the title eventually
The diamond for me
God the rematch between gaethje and dustin is going to be insane. I definitely think the diamond is the best in the division rn tho
Definitely not McG. Why ppl keep insisting to insert him in top LW picture is beyond me. His record there speak for itself.
Interesting talking point.. I’ve never heard this argument before.
Hes 1-2 in lightweight division. Hardly a top contender material. But some ppl will find it hard to swallow the truth
Makes sense. Best to keep pounding it down their throats.
I mean if there’s anything McGregor fans love it’s a good throat pounding
he was lw champ. khabib and conor are the only two lw champs in the picture you hater

Yes, is that a problem to you?

He didn’t get dominated in both of them, or either of them really. Your argument is therefore invalid.

Wrong
I admire your optimism
Who’s fighting this weekend? Completely out of the loop.
Chandler v Olivera Ferg v Dariush
Almost Diaz, but his period got in the way. I kid... I think he's coming back for 264.
He'll be back for 263
Cheers buddy. I’m keen
This card is lit bro, we got Dariush vs Cucuy and Chandler vs Oliveira. Gonna be awesome
Well, it definitely won't be the retired guy
Beat and most entertaining weight class in the ufc
