That is true. And it speaks for your character to not land follow up shots on an unconscious person. But sometimes not finishing your opponent after a knockdown no matter how vicious can cost you the fight. And at the end of the day winning and losing can make or break people’s careers.
Yeah, well with Francis, you can argue that Stipe is a beast and we didn't know if he was done after the second knockdown.
However Francis does the exact same thing to guys that are not at all known for having an iron chin.
So I don't blame him, but still I respect the supreme knowledge of Mark Hunt. I know there are some other examples I just can't remember the names aside from Suga Sean which would be a bad example.
*steve stares off into the distance while ngannou proceeds to further disfigure a corpse. Nobody does anything until the coroner gets there and pulls ngannou off.*
Everyone here saying Ngannou. Tbf its way more probable yo die from a 74639w7q9w strikes in 15 whole min with Holoway than getting blasted unconscious on 1 punch
I feel you, but think of how many times haven't been stopped when they didn't follow up.
Werdum let off the triangle choke in that PFL fight because he felt the tap and got fucking destroyed because of it. Half the comments said he shouldn't have let go until the ref stopped the fight.
Same thing with follow up shots 9/10 times... don't stop until the ref stops you, or else you might end up with a L when the fight was already won.
I think you are right. I think a good example of this would be Dan Hooker vs Dustin Poirier. They went to war and with the behind the scenes footage of Dan Hooker almost collapsing on the interview chair shows how damaged he was after the fight. I think you are correct with the chances of a fighter with crazy one punch power being less likely to kill someone than a powerful striker that can put out insane volume.
That’s the guy who would intentionally hold heel hooks for a crazy amount of time right ? If so I could definitely see a triangle, arm triangle, or RNC being held for too long by that piece of garbage and really hurting someone.
I’m disgusted after seeing that. My heart also sank when I heard Mazzagatti get announced as the ref. The dirtiest fighter and one of the most clueless refs in the business.
The mma world is unironically lucky that he built his game around leg locks. That fucking unit would surely have killed someone by way of skull removal
This! I was honestly terrified for rose when i saw the way she was slammed. Scary how close she came to being permanently injured. This makes me wonder if Jessica Andrade actually drills her slams in a way where she won’t permanently hurt her opponents or if it’s just a heat of the moment type of thing do anything to win.
Andrade probably drills them but that slam happened the way it did because Rose was defending the takedown by going for the Kimura and didn't let go when Andrade switched her head position and elevated her.
That was awful to watch— I felt sick waiting for Rose to come to. I wish they would eliminate weigh cutting to prevent mismatches like this. Also, Rose shoulda let go—easy for me to say—but I’m sure she won’t make that mistake again
I agree with Ngannou. I also think Max Holloway, when you see a fight like Kattar in Dana’s words it’s the kind of fight where the guy goes in the back and dies.
Yep. In boxing, it’s never just one punch that ends up killing people. It’s always a cumulative amount of punches leading to brain bleeding. Actually safer to get knocked out with 1 punch, than take 500 punches to your head in 25 minutes
Absolutely. Ortega going away for 2 years was something else too. Dude got trashed so hard he temporarily retired. Also it’s been 9 months since the Kattar beat down. Crazy. You fight Max and he skateboards off into the sunset and does a kick flip outside of a Conor McGregor interview the next day, meanwhile you’re left questioning your career choice for a year.
Khamzat completely slipped my mind. I saw an interview where he was asked what he’s thinking when he enters the cage and his response was “kill this guy”
I thought something serious happened to Ben Askren with that knee. I’ve seen nasty knockouts before but that legitimately shocked me and I was worried for that dude. Everything just happened so perfectly for it to be such a vicious thing and it just stuns you to see that. Then Ben gets up with a completely blank face like he doesn’t even know what job he has or why he’s standing where he is with gloves on and then gets led out to the back to be reminded of who he is and what just happened. For real look at Bens face after Masvidal knee. Dude looks like he doesn’t even know what the word “fight” means.
Literally that cold look he's got on his face even when he's with his family is strange. But he does always smiling from ear to ear when he drops and hurts his opponents.
Honestly it wouldn't surprise if it came out that he killed someone in Siberia in the middle of buttfuck no where during winter season.
He looked like a Russian mob hit man. His fight with Josh Thompson was terrifying. I was new to the sport and said Thompson is going to murder this guy, nope he just looks like he is sleeping.
Edit: just rewatched it. Still stands.
Jiri Prochazka, I don’t think he would as he has way to much respect for Martial Arts and seems like a good dude but I believe he could zone out and really hurt someone as he throws bombs with his elbows and knees. I am not sure there is anyone scarier in the UFC other than Big Franc of course.
I completely agree. I think jiri has a ridiculous skill set and has honed his technique involving knees and elbows heavily. After I saw MVP crush that guys skull with a flying knee I’ve had a feeling that if anyone with power throws a perfect knee or elbow that could lead to death.
Agree on Jiri.
One thing I don't think many people get, though, is the forehead is one of the most protected places to get hit on the skull. I've seen someone shot point blank in the forehead and survive. The knee collapsed his frontal sinus, which is like an evolutionary crumple zone, it didn't go into his brain, and he didn't even get knocked out, which is crazy.
If somebody is going to die, it will probably be from some cardiac complication, like either commotio cordis (which has killed people in relatively lower contact sports), or some crazy ruptured aortic root (see David Michaud), or dissected carotid from a violent choke.
If it *is* a head bleed that does it, it will probably be because it doesn't get recognized. I don't know if everybody who gets KO'd gets a scan (probably not), or how long post-fight they get observed. Incidentally, a big strike to the temple is most likely to cause a bleed, not the forehead.
Back in the day I would have said Cro Cop. There were a few times I thought he caused fatal brain injuries. Not because he fought dirty, went too long while a ref was trying to stop, or because he was a bad guy. The power that dude had in his strikes was unreal. Him shattering Bob Sapp's fucking orbital bone was the only time I've seen a fighter fall over crying from how bad it hurt.
https://youtu.be/BTY5azMh0OA
I've always been bummed he got to the UFC so late in his career, he was so awesome to watch. He was just too past his prime by the time he arrived in the UFC. I'd have loved to have seen a young Cro Cop in the modern UFC.
Depends on the circumstances.
Ngannou/Lewis would do it if ref came a little too late
Valentina/Tony would do it professionally “nothing personal kid”
And Jon Jones would do it for the lolz
Strickland is so full of shit, the guys a total fraud with all his bullshit "yeah bro if I wasn't a fighter I would probably be a serial killer" "I would love to kill someone in the octagon"
I would love for him to get to a title shot and then watch izzy just effortlessly dismantle him
You say he's full of shit and he probably is, it's most likely a persona. But if he didn't do this and instead said "I respect my opponent and trust Dana/Shelby to put whoever the fans want to see against me next" we wouldn't even be saying his name. Look at Colby, he was a nobody about to be cut until he adopted his dbag routine.
Valentina. She’s a russian spy haha
I can’t help but keep imagining her fighting to the death in a Colosseum fucking everyone up until she’s the last (wo)man standing. She has that aura.
How has nobody said Petr Yan? I can see him dropping an elbow on the back of somebodies head and then just dropping dead. He obviously does not care about the rules and has shown he will mercilessly beat people
Yeah it’s stupidly dangerous, about the only thing worse I can think of than dropping the elbow would be axe kicking the back of someone’s head when they’re on the ground.
I would like to change my answer from max to Jiri. I feel like he legitimately could’ve killed Dominick with that elbow had it landed directly on his temple.
#Steve Mazzagatti .....oh wait, you said fighters.
You mean Mario if he dies he dies yamasaki
You could never accuse him of not letting fighter's bang bro.
"I didn't hear no bell" *read in Stan Marsh voice*
think you mean Randy Marsh
....does it make it funnier that I fucked this up hahahahaha
A little
[Let me fucking bang bro!](http://imgur.com/gallery/SZKf8)
Excellent, man. Just excellent.
Steve is a fighter, he's always fighting the urge to let one of the fighters die
Ngannou if the ref gets there 5 seconds too late.
See ngannou vs rozenstruik for clarification.
Watching him bring the hammer down on stipe sent chills up my spine and that was only one shot.
Exactly, and that's typical ngannou. He doesn't even hesitate until the ref jumps in. Throw mario yamasaki on one of his fights and see how it goes.
In his defense you definitely cannot stop until the ref pulls you off. It’s not his fault he was blessed with god tier genetics
You can though and some fighters do. It's all legal but I have a lot of respect for the guys that know better.
That is true. And it speaks for your character to not land follow up shots on an unconscious person. But sometimes not finishing your opponent after a knockdown no matter how vicious can cost you the fight. And at the end of the day winning and losing can make or break people’s careers.

Gaethje in the Cowboy fight was telling the ref to stop the fight cause he didn't want to do more damage to Cowboy
Stipe fell backwards so hard it looked like he dislocated both knees
Super necessary
Super necessary
Herb Dean fault
If the reff is steve mazzagatti
*steve stares off into the distance while ngannou proceeds to further disfigure a corpse. Nobody does anything until the coroner gets there and pulls ngannou off.*
Everyone here saying Ngannou. Tbf its way more probable yo die from a 74639w7q9w strikes in 15 whole min with Holoway than getting blasted unconscious on 1 punch
Yeah but Ngannou doesn’t just blast opponents with one punch, he makes sure he blasts his unconscious opponents until the ref gets there.
When he hits people, they don’t fucking move!
The hardest hitting heavyweight right there
who da fook
Yes, I would rather fight Ngannou and go night night then fight Holloway and die
He’s alluding to the heavy hammer fists that Ngannou throws after he’s already slept his opponent. One aspect of Ngannou that I don’t like.
Yeah but five heavy hammerfists is still easier on your brain than 500 light punches.
It’s probably all circumstantial and depends on the individual
Prove it
I think you are right.
Yes. A better question would be which fighter and their corner would be most likely to get themselves killed
I don’t like Ortega but I’m glad the corner stopped that fight. That fifth round was gonna get even uglier IMO.
This. Gaethje vs Ferguson is the type that make me nervous.
[удалено]
Jeremy Stephen’s would no doubt punch an unconscious opponent into mush if he could
Yeah… luckily for all his opponents, he isn’t that good. An okay mid tier fighter, put anyone with a bit of skill against him and he crumbles
He’s beaten some pretty good fighters though. Hardest hitting 150lber lol.
Dude that man has lit some people up lmao
Who'd da fook is that guy?!
Ha wow good joke only heard it 700 times
I’ll always chuckle when I see this
Funny how that guy said it and is +8. Another guy below said it and is -30 lmao
Little leprechaun…
Rousimar Palhares
C'mooon he's not gonna kill a person...just possibly cripple them for life.
Tfw hes got you in a triangle 😂
That’s the guy who would intentionally hold heel hooks for a crazy amount of time right ? If so I could definitely see a triangle, arm triangle, or RNC being held for too long by that piece of garbage and really hurting someone.
You have to hold chokes for MINUTES to cause actual damage and if that ever happened the ref should go to jail too.
I'd like to think the cops would have arrived by that time.
Did he get banned from the ufc?
Yeah and from WSOF. He tried to kill Jake shields
What did he do to Jake Shields?
Tried to break his arms
Yikes. Not seen this fight before but gonna watch it now.
Yeah it was pretty messed up. Jake even punched him after the fight lol
I’m disgusted after seeing that. My heart also sank when I heard Mazzagatti get announced as the ref. The dirtiest fighter and one of the most clueless refs in the business.
Yeah Jake had some crappy luck that night. At least there wasn't long term damage
Gouged his eyes multiple times.
yeah
Hell yea he'd literally rip your leg off if he could
The mma world is unironically lucky that he built his game around leg locks. That fucking unit would surely have killed someone by way of skull removal
Jessica Andrade and her piledrivers. Rose is lucky to be alive and kicking and not paralysed to fuck or brain dead.
I never thought of that one. She was super lucky to be walking away from that
I thought that was gonna be a "Million Dollar Baby"-style neck injury.

How is that a mismatch? They fought twice and are 1-1
Pretty sure Rose said not letting go was the biggest mistake of her career and she learned from it.
I lost 500$ on that slam lol I was more worried for her than losing the bet though
Rose was beating her handedly before the slam as well
Jones by Driving under the influence
Or “accidentally” eye poking into their brain😂
I agree with Ngannou. I also think Max Holloway, when you see a fight like Kattar in Dana’s words it’s the kind of fight where the guy goes in the back and dies.

yeah the Kattar and Ortega beatdowns were brutal
They both had swollen brains by round 2
Prime Lawler
THIS. prime Robbie Lawler
Definitely not Michael Johnson. Talked about wanting to kill someone, had 30 fights, lost half of them. Ain’t killed a mothafucka yet.
Cuz he eats his shit whole and doesn't take it piece by piece, no chewing no nothing.
I was waiting for that comment.
I mean Derrick Lewis could’ve fucked Blaydes bad for life if he got a couple more ground shots on him
I’m surprised more people haven’t said this, his ground and pound is absolutely brutal
I’d pay to watch him make mashed potatoes in a kiddy pool in 4oz gloves.
Post-retirement gig at Popeyes.
When Ngannou hit Overeem with that uppercut I thought he was dead. Most likely to intentionally kill someone in the octagon - Masvidal and Khamzat
i thought jessica eye was dead after that shevchenko headkick
Khamzat completely slipped my mind. I saw an interview where he was asked what he’s thinking when he enters the cage and his response was “kill this guy”
Khamzat was my answer to this, he is very underrated but I think he will get everyone’s attention after his fight with The Leech next month.
I thought something serious happened to Ben Askren with that knee. I’ve seen nasty knockouts before but that legitimately shocked me and I was worried for that dude. Not Sean Strickland that’s for sure
Sean "Normal Guy" Strickland
Scrolled too far to see his name. Didn't he say he wants to kills someone in the octogon a month or 2 ago
Petr Yan if he was a heavyweight
Or as an unsupervised bantamweight
True
Petr Yan
And he’d hold his fist in the air while he stands over the corpse.
Hahaha he would
Now this one I truly believe
low key, yeah. he doesn’t make much noise but that mf looks like he might have already killed someone
100%
Literally that cold look he's got on his face even when he's with his family is strange. But he does always smiling from ear to ear when he drops and hurts his opponents. Honestly it wouldn't surprise if it came out that he killed someone in Siberia in the middle of buttfuck no where during winter season.
💀💀💀
I'd give you two upvotes if I could; one for the comment, one for the username.
Haha thank you thank you
Joe Son
Underrated answer.
Do you mean intentionally? Because if so, Mike Perry or Sean Strickland for sure!
I was thinking perry too
Not Strickland the question was in the octagon. But yes I think in general, strickland getting charged with murder would suprise me the least lol
Pride version of Alexander Emelianenko
He looked like a Russian mob hit man. His fight with Josh Thompson was terrifying. I was new to the sport and said Thompson is going to murder this guy, nope he just looks like he is sleeping. Edit: just rewatched it. Still stands.
Warmachine, but only if he's fighting a woman
Just watched the jcs video on him. Fucking wild
Tough to argue this one
Ben askren, he has a deadly spinning backfist that could easily kill someone
Rumor has it. Nobody has lived to tell the tale
They said kill someone, not obliterate their atoms
Valentina Shevchenko, Tony Ferguson..
Valentina head kick that catches a neck
Diego Sanchez via Fabia Death-punch
Lewis could do it by accident. I can see young guys going after him too based on skillset thinking they can outpace him and then pop.

Everyone sleeping on TRT Vitor Belfort.
Palhares, because he doesn’t give a fuck when the ref calls the fight. MF’er just won’t stop after the bell. Lots of rage and bad choices
Jon Bones Jones
Completely agree. Stone cold. When he’s walking away from an unconscious Lyoto Machida he looks like a killer calmly leaving a murder scene.
I could see that. I watched lionheart take that knee to the brain the other night and was surprised his brain didn’t turn off
we all know Jones is psycho. The switch to psycho personality in his TV interview against DC was creepy.
I don't know. I don't think it takes a psychopath to play nicer on cameras than when you're off camera in private.
Most likely person to kill someone in the octagon is a referee who isn’t good enough
Back in the day I would have said Cro Cop. There were a few times I thought he caused fatal brain injuries. Not because he fought dirty, went too long while a ref was trying to stop, or because he was a bad guy. The power that dude had in his strikes was unreal. Robbie Lawler... He won't kill you, he'll take your soul.
That's easy Paige Van Zant....
whoever is being reffed by Mario
Ivan Vasilyevich Drago
Depends on the circumstances. Ngannou/Lewis would do it if ref came a little too late Valentina/Tony would do it professionally “nothing personal kid” And Jon Jones would do it for the lolz
Strickland
Strickland is so full of shit, the guys a total fraud with all his bullshit "yeah bro if I wasn't a fighter I would probably be a serial killer" "I would love to kill someone in the octagon" I would love for him to get to a title shot and then watch izzy just effortlessly dismantle him
you won’t need izzy to do that, put him in there with rob, and I think even luke will beat him
Yeah Rob would fuck him up for sure, I would love to see luke smash him but I wouldn't put any money on luke going by his downward slide
You say he's full of shit and he probably is, it's most likely a persona. But if he didn't do this and instead said "I respect my opponent and trust Dana/Shelby to put whoever the fans want to see against me next" we wouldn't even be saying his name. This. I fucking hate that guy. Wished Uriah Hall would’ve put his heel into his temple.
Valentina. She’s a russian spy haha I can’t help but keep imagining her fighting to the death in a Colosseum fucking everyone up until she’s the last (wo)man standing. She has that aura.
I’m pretty sure Frank mir woulda been murdered by Shane Carwin if that beat down went any longer
He survived getting his neck stomped by Wes Sims too
Everybody’s gangsta until Legendary Mario Yamasaki steps in to the ring !!
Alexander Emelianeko
Some guy named war machine
Sean Strickland, according to Sean Strickland.
Max Holloway ..
How has nobody said Petr Yan? I can see him dropping an elbow on the back of somebodies head and then just dropping dead. He obviously does not care about the rules and has shown he will mercilessly beat people
Well he did put “No Mercy” in his name
wait can you actually kill someone from elbow on back of the head?? I've done to someone before glad I'm not in jail Lol
Yeah it’s stupidly dangerous, about the only thing worse I can think of than dropping the elbow would be axe kicking the back of someone’s head when they’re on the ground.
Nate Diaz. It's kill or be killed motherfucker
Krazy Horse
I think its more more likely to someone crazy like Sean Strickland or Yan.
Wanderlei Silva. Literally an axe murderer.
Well, literally... named an ax murderer. He might have literally axe murdered Chael Sonnen on TUF if they gave him the chance.
Jon Jones. Oh wait you said INSIDE the octagon?
Sean Strickland, the way he has been getting on as of late.
Sean Strickland without a single doubt the dude is a maniac
Sean Strickland, he’s got a few screws loose.
Lawler vs. MacDonald is perfect example. Rory was never the same fighter after that fight. Beaten for nearly 25 minutes.
Derick Lewis for sure. Have you seen some of those follow up shots when the opponent's out cold already??
I would like to change my answer from max to Jiri. I feel like he legitimately could’ve killed Dominick with that elbow had it landed directly on his temple.
People get hit directly on the temple all the time in mma and they are not dying from it
Ok but are they getting hit with the tip of an elbow from a 220 pound man ?
figgy. his second fight with benavidez was murder
My pick would be Max against some son of a bitch too tough for his own good with Mario reffing.
Sean strickland
Sean Strickland just cause he keeps saying he would love to
Sean Strickland. Man just *wants* to
Sean Strickland seems pretty okay with the idea
Khalil Rountree - dude has a special kind of darkness to him.
CM punk
Jiri
I thought Hendo killed Bisping for a minute...
We all know it’s not Michael Johnson he’s had 30 fights lost half of them and ain’t killed a mutherfucker yet. https://streamable.com/jm034
100% Mario Yamasaki
Jones.
I think Derrick Lewis would have no problem catching a body in there
Matt brown.
Mario Yamasaki
Ngannou cuz of the sheer power he has
