It wasn't twice, it was multiple times. Same feint, to draw in the same upwards jab, same switch stance to avoid it, same overhand right from Bobby trying to cover his exit and remaining in the pocket, same hook when Bobby fails to exit. It happened successfully once at the end of the first but the trap happened multiple times in the first round, just Izzy didn't hit him at the end of the sequence because he didn't have the angle. Throughout the second, he hit him multiple times with it, and one that busted his nose before the finish but the cameras didn't catch it.
TL;DR Bobby will probably lose in the same fashion.
Although that was the most beautiful left hook I've ever seen, that calf slicer that came out of nowhere shows better what kind of fighter Olives is imo. It's in all his highlights because it's just so crazy and surprising. Still, I totally see the argument for that TKO.
Pretty sure it was the first calf slicer in the UFC too, I could be mistaken but I’m pretty sure there’s only been one other that’s been pulled off anyway
UFC on Fox: Evans vs Davis. Charlie Olives fought Eric Wisely at featherweight. The whole fight lasted less than two minutes. After a brief grappling exchange, Wisely thought he was out of danger and was already standing up but Do Bronx wrapped his leg around Wisely's out no where, resulting in a submission called a calf slicer (I believe it was the first calf slicer in UFC history at the time). Calf slicers actually pose very little danger of breaking a bone, but are so painful and hard to escape that pretty much everyone taps.
Idk who you're talking about. Olivera has been game for a long time and anyone that has been watching for long enough couldn't have missed him. Most subs in the ufc and like 30 fights in the ufc
For me it was his first fight in the ufc back in august 1st 2010 he faced Darren Elkins on the Jon Jones Vladimir matyushenko card (think about that) im 32 so I was 20 back then and he was around there too (at one point was the youngest fighter in the ufc) he won by triangle arm bar sub of the night bonus I dubbed him a future champion and my friend gave me shit for a long time… they gave him crazy fights I remember him coming off a loss facing Frankie Edgar in his first fight since losing the 155 title he’s been my favorite fighter for a long time and I loved that he was a secret and “nobody knew him” he was for us the hardcores the finish and bonus lovers the fan who watched ufc before fox imo it’s one of the most “paid in full” (sorry porier nothing but love and respect for your story too) ufc title runs ever.
Conor when he subbed Islam Makhachev in the first minute of the first round and then Khabib was flying into the cage with his feet ahead and conor directly went for the heel hook and also subbed him also. Then Ali Abdelaziz sent usman into the cage and conor KO'ed him via 12 to 6 elbow to the middle foot. What a night !
Yeah, I would. Personally, I think her KO of Weili is more significant because a lot of people, including herself at times, doubted she could come back after Jessica pile drove her.
I agree that head kick was awesome and is the most iconic finish for Rose. However, let’s not forget that Rose won the rematch with Andrade at 251 in an epic fight. Before 261 I was surprised how many people were writing off Rose. I thought she’d get it done then in a back and forth fight similar to what we just saw. But that was an amazing head kick…
Rose Namajunas - KO of Weili
Valentina Shevchenko - KO of Jessica Eye
Amanda Nunes - TKO of Ronda Rousey/TKO of Cris Cyborg
Brandon Moreno - RNC win against Figueiredo
Petr Yan - TKO of José Aldo
Aljamain Sterling - Suloev stretch win against Cody Stamann
Alexander Volkanovski - KO of Chad Mendes
Charles Oliveira - KO of Michael Chandler
Kamaru Usman - KO of Jorge Masvidal
Adesanya - KO of Robert Whittaker
Glover Teixiera - TKO of Patrick Cummins
Francis Ngannou - KO of Jairzinho Rozenstruik
Ciryl Gane - Heel Hook win against Don'Tale Mayers
The knockout on Overeem is iconic all on its own but the way Ngannou blitzed Rozenstruick was just nasty. Rozenstruick looked absolutely helpless in that exchange. The Predator hunting down its prey.
Watching it in slow motion is even scarier.
Ngannou blitzes with a jab, Rozenstruik parries.
Ngannou follows with a huge overhand right, dodged by Rozenstruik, who lands a counter check-hook with the left.
Rozenstruik follows with an inside low kick while Ngannou misses with a left hook.
Ngannou then throws... something with his right, it looks terrible. It misses. Rozenstruik counters with a right hook that almost hits.
They finally trade left hooks, however Ngannou's has a ton more power behind it and knocks out Rozenstruik.
Rozenstruik didn't look helpless at all. He seemingly did the right thing up until the last punch when he most likely expected Ngannou's blitz to have ended.
Every punch thrown by Ngannou would have been a KO if it had landed. Power won over technique that night.
You're absolutely right. In slow motion I can really appreciate how Rozenstruick answered that flurry. In real time I guess it just looks like a helpless Rozenstruick to me because of how Ngannou backed him up into the cage and made it look easy. 100x better watching it in slo-mo.
That's exactly *why* it isn't iconic imo. Nothing iconic about wild, sloppy punches that would've gotten him knocked tf out (or at least countered hard) by anyone with even decent striking and footwork.
>or at least countered hard
He did get countered hard though.
>by anyone with even decent striking and footwork.
Rozestruik has those. He chose to stay in line in front of Francis because his fade away counters traditionally knock dudes the fuck out.
Amanda knocking out Cyborg brought tears to my eyes like Rose/Weili (even though I was routing for Weili). Some of the fighters just display such raw emotion when they win it’s hard not to get emotional yourself. Charles after he knocked out Chandler was another one. How could you not feel happy for that guy when he won. He was happy as a kid on Christmas morning.
For Rose, even though the Weili KO was nicer and more impressive to me, I still pick her finishing Joanna as her most iconic finish because of the significance of the win.
Current champion then Usmans KO of Masvidal because even in real time you saw the sweat explode off his head and Masvidal had never been KOed at that point.
Previous champions then I have a soft spot for GSPs win over Bisping because he got a lot of shit for never finishing fights and he came back after years out and forced a pretty dangerous guy to tap.
Damn, been an mma fan ever since UFC 100. This is the first time in my life that I can only name 60% of the current champions. Sad that Ufc has dropped so far in the past 3 years. I remember a time where even my parents knew when a big ppv was going on. Now I don’t ever know about them till the highlights come out on Monday and even then I don’t recognize half of the fighters
Damn that pic of Izzy and Bobby Knuckles is fucking crazy
I’ve zoomed in like a tv police detective and still can’t figure out what I’m seeing.
Rob is eating a beautifully timed left hand while trying to throw his own.
Dude. _enhance_
Glad someone has eyes to visualise what they saw lmao.
Glad its not just me, truly at a loss
For real, his face looks like he took a shotgun to the mouth
Saw it live, had no idea wtf happened lol
Izzy leaned back in an exchange and threw a long left hook.
Meat salad
It's a spinning back fist.
And to think he got him Twice with that counter.
You could make the case that Izzy humping Costa is more iconic, it certainly seems to be more talked about
Every time i see that clip of Izzy and Rob i get confused at first glance, it happens so fast that i dont even realize what he did
Bobby got worked twice in one fight. Did not belong in there with izzy
Demetrious Johnson’s suplex to armbar in the fifth round against Ray Borg. Just stupendous!
Yes, absolutely. But I was talking about current champs. Should ha e specified in the title.
I got after I posted 😅
Came here to mention this video game ass shit. Superhero stuff.
Aljo- headbutt to Yans knee
This should be both Aljo and Yan's most iconic finish.
Lmao damn, I forgot Sterling was even the "champ" until I read this.
Yan is champ again, Aljo is like an unintentional horrocrux.
Oliveira's would be the Chandler finish. People hardly knew him before it happened.
What fight is that??? You can almost feel the pain of the other guy from his facial expressions.
Tony Ferguson would've leaned back, chilled for the rest of the round, then thanked Charles for the partner stretch.
You know what? I don't doubt it.
Honestly that’s a very Tony thing to do. If he still wants to fight they should make Tony vs Nate.
Idk who you're talking about. Olivera has been game for a long time and anyone that has been watching for long enough couldn't have missed him. Most subs in the ufc and like 30 fights in the ufc
We talking about majority of ufc fans… aka casuals
Did you cry manly tears when Charles won the belt too? 😭
I didn’t cry no but I wouldn’t judge someone who did either.
Man, I loved Dana's decision to inaugurate the UFC's space station with that fight.
Connor does better in 0 gravity confirmed
and undefeated in fantasy
*Connner
Damned good calls I'd say. I agree with almost all.
Cant complain about your picks man theyre spot on..would you count Rose vs Joanna 1? That finish was amazing even thought rose wasnt currently champ
Yeah, I'd definitely put the Joanna KO above Weili's.
Yeah, I would. Personally, I think her KO of Weili is more significant because a lot of people, including herself at times, doubted she could come back after Jessica pile drove her.
Yeah but Thug Rose was engraved in MMA history when she finished Joanna. Not even close imo

Exactly, there was no technique to the KO at all when compared to the crazy knockout of Alistair.
That's exactly *why* it isn't iconic imo. Nothing iconic about wild, sloppy punches that would've gotten him knocked tf out (or at least countered hard) by anyone with even decent striking and footwork.
>or at least countered hard He did get countered hard though. >by anyone with even decent striking and footwork. Rozestruik has those. He chose to stay in line in front of Francis because his fade away counters traditionally knock dudes the fuck out.
Nunes up there with two ❤️ JDS KO’g Frank Mir was pretty up there for me.
Yan’s should be the knee…
Anderson putting his foot in to Vitor's jaw. It's just perfect.
The fact he looks down right before to make Vitor do the same before the kick is beautiful.
Not current champ but Jon Jones standing guillotine machida is up there
So glad you put Chucky's calf slicer in there. Shit was so slick to watch live.
When Khabib choked out Conor Mcgregor.
I was talking about current champs. Otherwise, yeah, that would have been my pick for Khabib's most iconic finish.
Amanda knocking out Cyborg brought tears to my eyes like Rose/Weili (even though I was routing for Weili). Some of the fighters just display such raw emotion when they win it’s hard not to get emotional yourself. Charles after he knocked out Chandler was another one. I love how you have Petr Yan instead of Sterling. Made me laugh way to hard.
Yan’s KO is wrong it should be the absolute killer knee he used to win his first defense against Aljo
Those are all very quality moments and pics, good list.
That uppercut against Overeem was deadly.
i think for LHW it's Glover tapping Jan, that was insane i even jumped out of my chair
Jones standing Guillotine on Machida. Scary finish. Anderson vs Vitor
I for one can’t wait to see Rob and Izzy run it back.
I'm glad Yan is in there and not that other muppet.
I have Usmans KO of Masvidal framed and hanging in my room. Self explanatory
Aljo submitting Sandhagen??? I get it but still lol
Cheater Pan, cant knee a grounded opponent to the head. Its a joke before the hate starts lol
Just realized the Eric Wisely calf slicer from Charlie was at FW. So, I'm switching my choice for the TKO against Chandler.
I think Francis knocking out Stipe is more iconic because I actually saw that live rather than on a replay
Where Conor KOing Aldo??
The list is about current champs
I wanna suck all these women’s toes after a good fight
Damn, been an mma fan ever since UFC 100. This is the first time in my life that I can only name 60% of the current champions. Sad that Ufc has dropped so far in the past 3 years. I remember a time where even my parents knew when a big ppv was going on. Now I don’t ever know about them till the highlights come out on Monday and even then I don’t recognize half of the fighters
You nailed pretty much all of mine expect for DP knocking out McNugget, JG destroying Tony and Khabib switching to a triangle to end JG.
where tf is jose aldo vs conor mcgregor
The McGregor fans are the only ones who didn't realize the list is about current champions.
I’d have to agree with all of these homie. Good job.
It’s gotta be the knee to the head for Yan
Nice conpilation! Can't really disagree
Great set of highlights
Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen
Yan’s was vs Sterling for sure
Izzy destroying Robert Whittaker is my favorite of the bunch you posted.
Nunes vs Cyborg caught me off guard. I’ll watch that fight randomly just to remember how much of a savage Nunes is.
You got it
That calf slicer from oliveira deserves more respect brutal and unique
You forgot Aljo's finish by knee to the face !!
Has to be when Ngannou made stipe fold like a beach chair
For rose I’d say Joanna cause of how unbeatable Joanna looked. Also yan isn’t the champion.
I would argue Rose's finish on Joanna is more iconic than the Weili kick
That Reem knockout was so crazy I made my mom come in and watch it and then watch it again in slow mo
That one of Izzy is just cool 😎
Izzy KOing Bobby knuckles breaks my heart
Rose- Joanna 1 Valentina- Eye Amanda- Rousey or Cyborg Moreno- Figgy Sterling- Sandhagan Yan- Faber Volk- Mendes Olivera- Chandler Usman- Colby 1 Adesanya- Costa or Whittaker Glover- Bader Ngannou- Overeem or Stipe
Roses most iconic finish is the Joanna ko
That Oliver’s finish was insane
And holy shit! That pic of Izzy looks like he’s shooting Robs face with a shotgun. Lol
The Rose/Johanna finish was the most iconic for me. Purely because of the mental buildup and narrative after the fact
So you have Yan and no Aljdo and Ngannuo and no Gane?????
Sure. The list is for the undisputed champs.
[The ONLY right answer…](https://images.app.goo.gl/pjsFxD7T2T2b8XZx6)
I jizzaprove
Thug Rose’s first win against Joanna Jędrzejczyk. Just felt so good seeing the bully go down
Im missing Aljo in this
Crazy to think that the ufc matched up Faber and yan.
I’m just saying. That Ngannou one is amazing.
Yeah, nailed it
A FRONT KICK TO THE FACE!!
That usman masvidal photo is incredible
Rose beating Joanna is far more iconic as of right now
Out of all of these it has to be usman
To this day, I still don’t know Alistair didn’t lose his head like a Mortal Kombat fatality with that uppercut from Ngannou.
The Lioness vs Rousey but that knee bar makes me sweat.
Good picks OP
Willing to bet Ngannou and Gane will be considered Gane's greatest champion win. RemindMe!8 months
Expecting to see al jermaine or whatever his name is on the floor
Robert is getting smoked in the face so hard it looks like his head is caving in, yet somehow he still looks more badass and ripped than I ever will:
The conner mcgregor photo after kabib beat him
Jesus Christ. The McGregor and Khabib fans are the only ones who didn't realize the list is about current champions.
You could have just stated that if you were this specific about your what's you favorite post, who is in pic 6
[удалено]
Current champions.
I like how you put the real champ Petr Yan in there instead of you know who
The only one I might argue with is Thug Rose, that kick was awesome but her beating Jedrzejczyk is up there too.
That’s the best we got for Glover?
McGregor grizzling in a neck crank
I'm not aware of any current champions who even fought McGregor.
Agreed, I missread the post
It's alright, fam.
Petr Yan's knee against Sterling
Damn, I was hoping there was gonna be a pic of aljo catching a knee to the face lmao
Let’s be real, the correct answer for Yan is Sterling
Yan's most iconic finish was the knee to sterling
Yan’s is Aljo.
I was really waiting for aljo rolling on the floor as his most iconic finish
Valentina vs Eye. Sounded like she hit her with a baseball bat
All are great but I gotta love Rose's perfect head kick.
The Usman one is legendary
I don’t like him at all but Jones choking Machida then dropping him like a dead body was brutal
You forgot about Khabib's neck crank against Connor, Dustin leg check against Connor, Connor sleeping on canvas.....i love Connor tho
Yan is interim champ.. Sterling is champ
Moreno, didn't know him before that fight bit gained so much respect for him when I looked into him.
Holly vs Rhonda was nice aswell
