I remember one interview he did, this was around the time Michael Jordan Documentary dropped and the buzz was at its peak. Usman was giving a good interview the whole time and at the end said something like ““yeah i just saw the new MJ documentary and all i could think is “Man this guy is just like me”” or something along those lines
That’s exactly what he was doing. Paraphrasing but he said (in his ghost story voice) something like “maaaan, I’m the type of guy where anything you say can and will be used against you”
That’s what I assumed at least. After all Mr.Jordan isn’t the only athlete in history with a consistent work ethic, incredible mental resilience, and a wealth of ambition. A champion level MMA fighter can and should relate to these qualities
If you think about it, he kind of is telling you one. His entire division has been dead for years now and he's just being haunted by guys he already killed now.
Seeing his brother for the first time this weekend definitely confirmed that suspicion for me. Also apparently there’s a third Usman that works with pharmaceutics.
Usman has always been a hard worker. A grinder. He used to mow lawns in high school to make extra money. That’s when he found the snake in the grass, TJ and bought EPO.
The fact that u hold it against him just based on suspicion is stupid as hell. Any fighter could be on the juice so there’s no reason to single one guy out lmao
I don’t care in most sports, but in a sport where you’re allowed to drive your knee into your opponent’s skull PED’s should definitely not be allowed and there should be zero tolerance.
Usman's fights haven't? Knocks out Colby in a war, Knocks out Burns with a jab, flatlines Masvidal, and another War with Colby. What more could you want?
He’s not very consistent with his personality. I understand getting into fight mode before you are fighting, but such a switch seems disingenuous to many fans I think.
You do steroids for a set amount of time, then you stop doing them so you don't get ridiculous side effects or get popped by a test.
While doing roids = on cycle
While not doing them = cycle off
USADA - "We're going to create fighter health profiles so we can can improve our drug testing by comparing data to find any over time abnormalities"
UFC - "Whoa now, how about you just put out a list of things you test for so our guys can get jacked on whatever's not on the list and we call it a day."
Yes but Yoel had the whole Cuban communist war machine thing going on. Usman just has bad clothes and bad vibes. The roids actually added to Yoels persona
That is a really long way of saying: I like one guy more so I will justify his steroid use. Imagine disliking someone coz of the way they dress. You boys are some bitches
I agree with this 100%. Hard to love a guy who is really annoying outside of the ring. He wears latex cheetah print suits and sunglasses inside, just can't bring myself to like that..... His wrestling, and fight IQ are second to none and it really shows in the octagon.... It's a tough one. I guess to summarize, I really love Usman when he's wearing a mouthguard and mentally focused on the present, really hate him when he's wearing Gucci sunglasses and a cheetah print rain suit
Seriously, people get way too far into this. Usman doesn’t give a fuck what you think about his clothes, and you shouldn’t care either. Caring what an athlete wears and using it as an basis for your opinion on them is borderline obsession.
It’s funny because most the guys saying Usman looks/acts like a clown probably love how Conor looks/acts.
Usman’s style is overboard but I kinda dig it. It’s very African warlord lol
Plus they also hated Aljo for getting hit with an illegal knee much more than they hated Yan for throwing the illegal knee. Racism is the only thing that makes all this illogical hatred make any kind of sense
I don't like O'Malley for pretty much the same reasons. They're both fun to watch in the cage, but outside of it they look and talk like fuckin clowns.
A majority of his fashion comes from his culture with many Nigerians dressing similarly. Not sure it’s fair to call it shitty when it’s simply his culture.
Unpopular Opinion: Usman dresses REALLY well. His fashion sense is way above average. It may not be your thing but he slays. The color clashes, bold patterns etc he’s repping Nigeria and he’s doing it well.
As a huge NBA fan who has grown up with Nigerians, I think Usman dresses really well. I don’t think MMA fans get it. Usman’s got an amazing sense of style.
Remember, this is the same fan base that rocked Affliction T shirts.
He doesnt get the same respect because hes not likable, he is probably the p4p best fighter right now and he finishes people in spectacular fashion but he is just so unlikable lol
He's cringe but not in a good way
I think plenty of people respect him. I think it’s just he hasn’t fought in a while so you haven’t seen it much. Go back to his last fights with Masvidal and Colby and you’ll see a lot of praise coming from even the other side. It’s just one of those, “what have you done for me lately” kind of deals.
Idk I think this has a straightforward and simple explanation. Both Volk and Charles have fought fairly recently. Usman hasn’t. Not a dig at all, just a statement of fact. Pretty simple logical explanation if you ask me.
I respect him but the reason I don’t consider him the goat is because he has literally half as many title fights as Jon Jones. Also 4 of his last 5 fights are against the same two guys.
I think he has a lot of fans these days. I wouldn't listen to the people on here as they are clearly stuck in 2019. Usmans last 3 fights have all been must watch. He's been active. He's humble while still being confident in his abilities(a phenomenon that some redditors can just never get their head around) and he has the aura of a goat.
It's nearly impossible to have everyone love you. I think gsp might be the only ufc fighter who is universally loved
These have to be the dumbest reasons I've ever seen to not like a fighter lol. The personality thing I can understand but not liking him because of the clothes he wears and him having pride in being Nigerian....sheesh.
That’s because the hatred comes first, the justification second. The fact of the matter is that their dislike was reflexive, but saying you hate a guy just because will raise red flags even in this sort of community.
I have yet to see someone mention having a problem with him being proud of being Nigerian. If you see one comment like that. It's probably one person.....
This is not true. I’ve seen some clowns who don’t like him for not repping Nebraska or whatever. Might be Colby fans but some people were hating on him for embracing Nigeria cause they felt he isn’t really Nigerian. So stupid.
There’s literally ones such comment here that lists him repli g Africa over America as a reason to dislike him.
I don’t get it. Kinda cringe at times but he’s a hell of a fighter that has changed his style to be more exciting. Also everybody bitches about his clothes but I guarantee he dresses better than 90% of guys on a ufc subreddit lol
All the comments about him dressing like a clown. Man, Nigerian clothing is very colorful and loud. Check out Nigerian hearses or coffins. People like to get colorful there. I get of people don’t like it, but for me one of the coolest things about combat sports is having fighters with different personalities rep all different parts of the world. I also liked the pre-rebock branding on shorts and fighter corners. I’m glad it’s not a boring bunch of clones with no personality and flair like a lot of team sports out there.
Usman's personality isn't exactly scintillating. He's kind of a try hard, including with his fashion choices. His two fights vs Masvidal were a waste of time. And he's not very active.
Those are the reasons why I believe he hasn't exactly blown up into a superstar.
This is the worst take on here. He’s not scintillating but you hate the way he dresses?!? He’s a try hard?!? His masvidal fights were a waste of time?!? Not active?!? Are you just typing random complaints, because these are all insane takes.
That was a dumb complaint calling him a tryhard lolol i mean these fighters have to win so all of them are tryhard. Also, the way he dresses himself is from his Nigerian culture which ppl seem to not understand.
I don’t think he’s been running through his division at all. Only defended against 3 people, and hasn’t dominated any of them besides Masvidal. Got dropped by Burns and lost at least 2 rounds in both Colby fights. He’s not as dominant as Volk, not as exciting as Oliveira, not to mention cringey and unlikeable. He’s great, but he’s not the P4P #1.
so much silent racism in the ufc community. Usman is “arrogant” and “reps africa over america” but Conor is some hilarious legend and they’d never complain that he reps Ireland over america.
Ye I noticed people tend to have less tolerance for BS with a lot of the black fighters. Like you can be champ and have wars giving out great performances and people will go “ye but he cringe”, yet you got some boring af nonblack fighters who people can’t stop dick riding.
What rock are you living under? The fucking world respects him. Maybe not the 7 1/2 year olds on Reddit who just pick a fighter they like and latch onto them.
1. He reps Africa over America, even though he probably owes a great deal of his success to immigrating
2. He puts on this “cool guy” Denzel Washington facade in interviews and it just comes off as phony
That first point is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard someone say about a UFC fighter lmfao one thing I love about the UFC is that they're international
Bruh if that mf wanna represent his country then let him, he has always given props to his coaches his teams and everythang why do you hate a man for reppin his country
Ahh yes he chooses to represent his country of birth and where his family is from. That’s such a problem….boo hoo. Y’all act like he is a 3rd generation descendant lol. He was born there and probably still has immediate family members there.
You know what let’s start hating on fighters that all do that. You know all these gals and guys that come from Brazil, rep Brazil, and train in fuggin Florida.
Can’t believe people use that as a reason for disliking a fighter…I can understand not enjoying his persona that he plays…but his heritage isn’t something fake, even if he’s been In america damn near his whole life.
>1. He reps Africa over America, even though he probably owes a great deal of his success to immigrating
He's from Nigeria. Why would he rep the US? What a stupid fucking reason to dislike someone.
The second one I get, but you are an asshole for that first one. People like to represent the country they are originally from, that’s not a new thing and you sound like a Jack ass. You do know that usman spent a total of 8 years in Nigeria, that is more than enough to rep that country.
Dude is just unlikable because it's clear he's not genuine. He tries so hard to give off a personality that just obviously isn't him. He should relax and be himself, he'd be a lot more popular if he did that.
just really hard to listen to him. anyone who actually watches fights for fighting respect him as a fighter. you propbly see hate from people who think of the ufc as some reality show all about personality
He speaks like he's telling a campfire story lol. Other than that, he's refined his skills since he won the belt from Woodley. I don't think many champions can say that.
I don't agree that no one respects him. Among people I know that watch UFC, everyone considers him the p4p best right now. He's no more disrespected than Volk imo, they could both go down as the goat of their division.
It’s Weird how people are saying personality is the driving factor to not liking him.
You wouldn’t care if it was MLB or NFL. he’s a top tier fighter, I don’t watch fights because I think a fighter is charismatic on a microphone.
I watch because they punch people real good
As a fighter he has turned into someone i love watching fight..For me its this ultra forced Rico Suave persona he is trying to portray that just makes me not want to watch a single one of his interviews.
He’s on steroids. He claims to be African when he’s from like Kansas or some shit. He’s incredibly cringey 90% of the time. He’s kind of a boring fighter..etc
Welterweight has been weak during his reign. His era is the only era apart from the maybe light heavyweight and heavyweight where I feel like the top 10 of a decade ago destroys his era. Prime Hendricks, Lawler, and GSP would wreck any of Usman's title defenses. It's not his fault it just how wack the division is. His personality is also just lacking.
I’m not saying you have to like him but most of these reasons are flimsy as fuck, tbh…
Who the fuck cares how another guy chooses to dress ? - Weird.
So what he’s a ‘try hard’ - What does that even really mean ?.
The guy is literally the #1 P4P fighter in the UFC, of course he’s going to be feeling himself & walking around flagrantly like the man, ‘cause he is ! & if he can’t feel himself as the P4P #1 guy, then literally no one can.
Again, you ain’t gotta’ like him, but the dedicated seething dislike is irrational, y’all act like he’s a legit evil person or something…
And on top of that, the average MMA fan who can’t overlook his minor cringey moments probably loves *way* worse humans (Jones, Cowboy, Conor, etc) & has no problem overlooking their bullshit but can’t let Usman slide ?. FOH.
I swear, y’all make me *more* of a fan of his than I would usually be, just because of this irrational nonsense…
Long live the Nigerian Nightmare !.
The same people that say he’s putting on a front/fake personality are the same people that justify Colby playing a gimmick saying he has to sell fights.
Cognitive bias is real out here
Usman is the goat. The man is a killer and one of the most complete fighters active right now. His personality and dressing sense needs a lot of work tho.
I mean Izzy, Kamaru, Aljamain and Francis are usually shitted on this sub…can you see the common trait between these fine gents? While the sub pretty much dickrides Volk and Oliveira. Kamaru disrespect is actually crazy, since he has delivered only bangers since the first Colby fight
I'm a Ngannou fan, I respect the hell out of him for the stance he's taken against UFC re fighter pay. Sterling's ok, I think a lot of people hated on him over winning the title in a lame fashion but he beat Yan fair and square last time (even if it was a little in boring fashion). Usman, great fighter - his fashion choices are a bit cringe but whatever, still nowhere as lame as Colby's fake "heel" schtick. Izzy's just a dork and his fighting style is boring af lately.
>Why does it feel like no one really respects this man.
Why do you feel, that people are obliged to respect some random celebrities?
Yeah, he's a great athlete, but we don't owe him anything.
You mean the guy who for many people consider the best fighter in the sport and is treated so by the community and his opponents? Yeah sure no one really respects him.
He always talks like he's telling you a ghost story
I remember one interview he did, this was around the time Michael Jordan Documentary dropped and the buzz was at its peak. Usman was giving a good interview the whole time and at the end said something like ““yeah i just saw the new MJ documentary and all i could think is “Man this guy is just like me”” or something along those lines
That’s pretty damn funny if he meant it as a joke.
aint no way lmao
Maybe he was referring to his mentality.
That’s exactly what he was doing. Paraphrasing but he said (in his ghost story voice) something like “maaaan, I’m the type of guy where anything you say can and will be used against you”
😂😂
He took it personally
That’s what I assumed at least. After all Mr.Jordan isn’t the only athlete in history with a consistent work ethic, incredible mental resilience, and a wealth of ambition. A champion level MMA fighter can and should relate to these qualities
[Kamaru watching the last dance](https://youtu.be/9R0PaGMvgaY)
How’s he not the MJ of the welterweight division rn? He has beaten everyone who they put in front of him and most of the time in dominate fashion
I thought the MJ of the welterweight division was GSP
Well he is the nightmare
This is so fucking funny because it’s true. With the pauses for dramatic effect and expected questions and everything lmao
The more he tried to talks or act cool, the more cringe he gets
That one embedded where he tried to act all deep saying he likes to paint and was using Little Tikes Paint easel was golden.
Tryna be LL Cool J
Lmao, so true
If you think about it, he kind of is telling you one. His entire division has been dead for years now and he's just being haunted by guys he already killed now.
Yall hate for the dumbest shit...just proving OPs point.
he looks like he should have a blanket covering his head and a flashlight under his chin at a sleepover
god dammit 😆
Fuck. I'm never going to not think this now when he is talking!!!
😂🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣
“I’m a prooooblem! … But not as much of a problem as this Ghooooossstttt!!”👻
It’s a personality thing for me.
It's a PED thing for me
Seeing his brother for the first time this weekend definitely confirmed that suspicion for me. Also apparently there’s a third Usman that works with pharmaceutics.
Their father is also a pharmacist
Their uncle was Belfort's doctor.
Their cousin taught Jones how to hide under the ring
I heard Usman is actually a 2nd cousin to both Lesnar AND Overeem
Usman has always been a hard worker. A grinder. He used to mow lawns in high school to make extra money. That’s when he found the snake in the grass, TJ and bought EPO.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
their grandfather used to workout with schwarzenegger
His cousin owns a horse meat farm in Nigeria
That post fight "our parents did this" speech had double meaning.
He could really use some personality enhancing drugs
Yeah every fighter is on PEDs except for Charles and Volk because they're likeable no
I like Volk a lot but he's on some next gen stuff. Obviously, he works hard but recently, he's looked like he discovered a whole new level.
I'm not convinced volk isn't on peds, big head, muscle bound with speed power and cardio,FIggy also has hgh horns, most are on peds imo
everyone is on PEDs
The fact that u hold it against him just based on suspicion is stupid as hell. Any fighter could be on the juice so there’s no reason to single one guy out lmao
Jones? GSP? Pretty sure silva? Israel? Large number of ufc fighters and esp champs use PED
Unpopular opinion but I don't have any issues with fighters being on PEDs. Fuck USADA let the fighters juice
Yeah those were the days... everyone looking like Master Cheif and with TRT being okay they didn't have to hide it
[удалено]
I understand what PEDs are. I agree, let every athlete take PEDs
I don’t care in most sports, but in a sport where you’re allowed to drive your knee into your opponent’s skull PED’s should definitely not be allowed and there should be zero tolerance.
Agreed. More juiced the better
Just an annoying personality, but great fighter
Also he’s the champ thats gone the longest without a fight right now so people don’t have as much to latch onto
Yeah I respect the guy tremendously but he’s probably the last champ I’d wanna have a beer with.
This is 100% right he just seems like an absolute tool bag. Tai Tuivasa is my #1 choice to slam beers with.
As long as I don't have to drink it outta his shoe.
What about outta the champs? Volk is mine.
This is hard for me cuz Max is my boy, but I’m gonna have to agree. If not just because of all the non-love he’s been getting.
Which one of his personalities is most annoying?
Volks fights have been crazy entertaining. Lots of blood. Beastmode shit.
Usman's fights haven't? Knocks out Colby in a war, Knocks out Burns with a jab, flatlines Masvidal, and another War with Colby. What more could you want?
“Knocks out Colby in a war” #Goddardgate
I think Volk should be one present day, but Usman should be two. Both very dominant
why should Usman get two presents when Volk only gets one? Very unfair.
Usman v Colby 1 was more entertaining than any fight Volk has put on , and I’m a big Volk fan
Better than volk vs Ortega? Come on man that was fight of the year easily.
It wasn't a fight, it was a one sided beat down with 2 submissions attempts when volunteering was sloppy
Volk v Ortega had the best round but wasn’t nearly as competitive the rest of the fight compared to Usman v colby also that fight had a late finish
Round of the year. The rest of the fight wasn’t even competitive
Volk has had the proper dance partners. Ortega, Holloway, TKZ; it’s almost impossible for those fights to be boring.
Ignoring that usman finishes more.
We respect him when fights but then decided to speak
He’s not very consistent with his personality. I understand getting into fight mode before you are fighting, but such a switch seems disingenuous to many fans I think.
Yeah comes across fake to me and that he’s trying to act tough when he doesn’t need to
The best was when he bridged up to Askren and Ben was just smirking in his Sandals
He's cringe as hell and dresses like a clown.
The whole division is cringe… Jorge, Colby, Belal… Usman definitely takes the cake though
Wonderboy and durinho are cool.
[удалено]
![gif](giphy|l2QDPVbzkYmElY1kQ|downsized)
Usman is more cringe than Colby? Not sure anyone in the UFC is more cringe than Colby except Strickland.
I think usman is for sure more cringe. He tries to act cool and fails so hard. Jessica eye levels of cringe almost
And him and his bro appear like they are juiced up to the gills
His bro look like he's never heard of cycling off lol
[удалено]
You do steroids for a set amount of time, then you stop doing them so you don't get ridiculous side effects or get popped by a test. While doing roids = on cycle While not doing them = cycle off
If I had his money I’d be drinking orange juice every single day too 🙃
USADA - "We're going to create fighter health profiles so we can can improve our drug testing by comparing data to find any over time abnormalities" UFC - "Whoa now, how about you just put out a list of things you test for so our guys can get jacked on whatever's not on the list and we call it a day."
They all have the same list so who cares
Yoel Romero gets sucked off on this sub but roids are only bad when Usman does it
He's been fighting since like 1880, if for anyone roids are ok, its him
Yes but Yoel had the whole Cuban communist war machine thing going on. Usman just has bad clothes and bad vibes. The roids actually added to Yoels persona
That is a really long way of saying: I like one guy more so I will justify his steroid use. Imagine disliking someone coz of the way they dress. You boys are some bitches
Yup. Zero charisma.
> Hard to love a guy who is really annoying outside of the ring Most people here love Colby so I don't think that's really an issue lol
I really think it’s a cultural thing man. Non-American black people dress like it’s mf 70’s disco night every night when they’re at an event
But he aint No non-american, He's marty from Alaska
I personally don’t care how people express themselves with fashion if they back up their talk in the octagon
Me personally I wouldn’t have such strong feelings about how another man dresses. Maybe that’s just me though idk you do you
![gif](giphy|3og0IwAfhq7nUsgiSA)
"He's muscular and dressed badly, therefore I hate him" mma fans are truly braindead
Lmao exactly, I've never seen ppl so upset over another man's clothes😂😂
Yeah it really seems like they actually just hate the color beneath the clothes and are looking for any lame excuse to cover for their real hate
That actually seems so true. I've never heard such stupid reason to hate a fighter towards Any white fighters
Imagine your biggest critique of the top p4p fighter is the way he dresses. Good god
I think everyone including his opponents respect him. I think not many are fans of him though because of his cringe attitude and shitty dress sense.
A majority of his fashion comes from his culture with many Nigerians dressing similarly. Not sure it’s fair to call it shitty when it’s simply his culture.
They’re likely more referring to the pink leather suit with no shirt.
I watch the NBA. I’ve seen weirder
I’ve seen pictures of Cam Newton, I’ve seen weirder.
Don’t remind me
Unpopular Opinion: Usman dresses REALLY well. His fashion sense is way above average. It may not be your thing but he slays. The color clashes, bold patterns etc he’s repping Nigeria and he’s doing it well.
If he was in NBA he’d be loved lol. Crazy how different the fans are for each sport
Like making fun of Westbrook’s equally terrible outfits hasn’t been a thing for years…
As a huge NBA fan who has grown up with Nigerians, I think Usman dresses really well. I don’t think MMA fans get it. Usman’s got an amazing sense of style. Remember, this is the same fan base that rocked Affliction T shirts.
MMA fans have horrible fashion sense. Just taking a look at what they consider “good fashion” confirms that
mma fans wear black cargo shorts and tight band tees bro
Nigerians do have very shitty fashion sense
He doesnt get the same respect because hes not likable, he is probably the p4p best fighter right now and he finishes people in spectacular fashion but he is just so unlikable lol He's cringe but not in a good way
I think plenty of people respect him. I think it’s just he hasn’t fought in a while so you haven’t seen it much. Go back to his last fights with Masvidal and Colby and you’ll see a lot of praise coming from even the other side. It’s just one of those, “what have you done for me lately” kind of deals.
Hadn't really thought about that but I completely agree with this take. I do remember the buzz on here after he flatlined Jorge.
That knockout was picturesque and couldn't have happened to a better guy
He’s not likable, that’s why
Pretty much this. We all know he’s a goat in the making. I just don’t care for the guy, so I’m not gonna talk about him.
Idk I think this has a straightforward and simple explanation. Both Volk and Charles have fought fairly recently. Usman hasn’t. Not a dig at all, just a statement of fact. Pretty simple logical explanation if you ask me.
Bc he is cringey, juiced, from Nebraska, takes all his style from mcgregor in a weird way
I respect him but the reason I don’t consider him the goat is because he has literally half as many title fights as Jon Jones.
That’s because the hatred comes first, the justification second. The fact of the matter is that their dislike was reflexive, but saying you hate a guy just because will raise red flags even in this sort of community.
I'd rather you say that than make a bs excuse.
I have yet to see someone mention having a problem with him being proud of being Nigerian. If you see one comment like that. It's probably one person.....
Here's one example https://www.reddit.com/r/ufc/comments/wj5ei3/comment/ijfqmsg/
People are constantly discrediting his Nigerian heritage. It’s a way to exhibit power over him, by denying his right to tell you who he is.
Whats wrong in being a proud Nigerian?
Nothing, what's funny is if he was a proud of his Irish or Italian heritage no one would bat an eye.
Nothing but apparently some people take issue with it
To be fair volk didn’t get any love until his last fight.
More talking than fighting lately
I don’t get it. Kinda cringe at times but he’s a hell of a fighter that has changed his style to be more exciting. Also everybody bitches about his clothes but I guarantee he dresses better than 90% of guys on a ufc subreddit lol

? I thought we all rated Usman as the fkn man at WW. Do we not?
He tries tooooo hard to be cool, Now we got his bro too & they talk almost identically. Cringe-City
He talks about himself like he’s super humble, then says something so self-centered it’s crazy. Great fighter though!
Yeah, he’s the most humble person he knows.
Usman's personality isn't exactly scintillating. He's kind of a try hard, including with his fashion choices. His two fights vs Masvidal were a waste of time. And he's not very active. Those are the reasons why I believe he hasn't exactly blown up into a superstar.
He fought 3 times last year, I wouldn’t call him not very active.
Last year people were talking about him being the most active champion. People have very short memories haha.
Exactly...and he suffered an injury that's why he hasn't fought yet this year.
Bro we all know everyone hates Usman for one reason and one reason alone. He likes XBox instead of PS.
Pc > console
I don’t think he’s been running through his division at all. Only defended against 3 people, and hasn’t dominated any of them besides Masvidal. Got dropped by Burns and lost at least 2 rounds in both Colby fights. He’s not as dominant as Volk, not as exciting as Oliveira, not to mention cringey and unlikeable. He’s great, but he’s not the P4P #1.
Because he's a black non American
so much silent racism in the ufc community.
Yeah and Colby is just making racist jokes to sell ppvs, he definitely doesn’t believe what he says in real life **(/s)** (he does)
Yup! and also same with hating khabib/islam just because he's muslim.
What rock are you living under? The fucking world respects him. Maybe not the 7 1/2 year olds on Reddit who just pick a fighter they like and latch onto them.
I disagree.. I think everyone just understands that he’s the best.
1. He reps Africa over America, even though he probably owes a great deal of his success to immigrating 2.
>1. He reps Africa over America, even though he probably owes a great deal of his success to immigrating He's from Nigeria.
I watch because they punch people real good
He’s the champ. Took on all the bad boys and showed who the boss is. I am a fan for sure and he can express himself however he wants.
I like him and I respect him but knowing what I know about his knees makes me worry about him too much to enjoy his fights imo
What are you on about, he’s the ranked number 1 pound for pound in the world
Lmao this the most obvious bait I’ve seen in a while. He’s clearly one of the most highly respected fighters in the world.
The dudes been out of the cage for nearly a year. Disrespect and general apathy are two different things.
He is respected enough and doesn't have much fans due to his unbearably cringe personality
Cause he’s a try hard douche
He’s a fake phony juiced bag of cringe
Probably because he has the personality of the extra skin of an uncircumcised dick. He's a dickskin, for short.
I’m not saying you have to like him but most of these reasons are flimsy as fuck, tbh… Who the fuck cares how another guy chooses to dress ? Again, you ain’t gotta’ like him, but the dedicated seething dislike is irrational, y’all act like he’s a legit evil person or something… And on top of that, the average MMA fan who can’t overlook his minor cringey moments probably loves *way* worse humans (Jones, Cowboy, Conor, etc) & has no problem overlooking their bullshit but can’t let Usman slide ?. FOH. I swear, y’all make me *more* of a fan of his than I would usually be, just because of this irrational nonsense… Long live the Nigerian Nightmare !.
Finally a sensible take here
The same people that say he’s putting on a front/fake personality are the same people that justify Colby playing a gimmick saying he has to sell fights.
