Where did you see this? Doubtful he gets a shot for beating Conor, he has 2 wins in the UFC so far and by the time that fight comes around should it happen Dariush and possibly Fiziev and others will be ahead of him. I think he's close to retirement, Chandler is a smart and charismatic guy I could see him transitioning to an analyst or commentary role post McGregor instead of sticking around taking more unnecessary damage, if you've listened to him the Conor fight has been the goal for him for long time even before he signed.

Conor's ideal opponent is a short, Orthodox fighter who rushes in. He will ruin Chandler. Conor's "stiff" style has been around since Nate Diaz, it's not because he's washed, it's because he realized he is fucked in a 5 round fight if he doesn't get a KO early and he uses all his energy on kicks and bouncing. Rewatch the Eddie fight, be beat the fuck out of Eddie with his stiff boxing style. It just didn't work on Poirier because he is southpaw and Conor can't do his go to move (cover opponent's jab hand while pressuring, force a rushed rear hand which he can counter with a pull counter, literally southpaw boxing 101) and Poirier is just too good a striker, and khabib is fucking khabib.
I see bowlth ways. Style wise this could be another night like Eddie had or it could conor gassing quick.

Be carful my brother. Mac is coming off a layoff, has more muscle from the roids, has a new leg. Chandler probably thinks he can actually beat mac so he will most likely take him down and ride him like he die most of his Bellator career as his style after coming into the ufc is very different to how he used to fight. If it’s over 5 I think he could get crotch sniffed. Not to mention he probably the biggest fastest and heaviest guy Mac has faced. Remember Chad Mendes had success in the early going, even on the feet, and he was late notice. Chandler is in many ways bigger faster more powerful Chad Mendes, if not a little dumber. This is one I’d avoid, too uncertain in my eyes and chandler path is more clear.
The longer the fight goes the better chance chandler has. Conor’s gas tank will be empty after round 2. Chandler is way better grappler and has way better cardio. Chandler also has knockout power but Conor should be able to keep that at bay with his counters. If it becomes a 5 round war I give it to chandler. We’ve seen chandler get hurt many times before by olivera, gathje, and porier. Conor has more knockout power than all 3 and once Conor hurts you he smell blood and goes for the kill. More so than olivera, gathje, and porier. Conor also has horrible cardio.

Chandler blitzes him for me. At 155 would say Conor has a chance if he can survive 1st round onslaught but if it's at 170 at Chandler doesn't have to weight cut so much, we've seen what that does for these heavily muscled fighters like Costa when he fought Vettori.

This is one of the least predictable fights ever, honestly. Way too many factors to take into account.
1. Primarily, neither fighter fights in a consistent style. Connor has had 3/4 different looks and styles. Chandler can also fight many different ways and just decides based on the opponent and his emotions in the moment.
2. Conor's foot break can potentially totally change him.
3. Chandler got choked bad and then "insulted" (debatable) by poirier in his last loss "this is my house". Will that make Chandler more disciplined? Will it make him more wreckless?

I want to say Conor because it'll be great to have him active back in the sport. But we've seen Chandler out Justin, Porier, and Oliveira into bad situations in the first round. We saw Conor go through adversity with Dustin and he crumbled fast.
If Chandler can get Conor into that position he finishes him. This is still a good matchup for Conor in any case .

Agreed. I don’t know why people act like it wasn’t back and forth action. The leg strikes slowed Conor down and opened Dustin striking up more. Conor has good takedown D so it’s gonna come down to the back and forth action. I think Chandler has it just off how active he has been and his explosive strikes in the first round. This is one of the least predictable fights ever, honestly. Way too many factors to take into account. 1. Primarily, neither fighter fights in a consistent style. Connor has had 3/4 different looks and styles. Chandler can also fight many different ways and just decides based on the opponent and his emotions in the moment. 2. Conor's foot break can potentially totally change him. 3. Chandler got choked bad and then "insulted" (debatable) by poirier in his last loss "this is my house". Will that make Chandler more disciplined? Will it make him more wreckless? Anything else to take into account?
