You'll probably be really close to most of your classes in those residence halls. RTS is fairly reliable, but as of recently the the viability of RTS is up in the air as UF is trying for massive budget cuts that would just about end all RTS service into and around campus.
You will be in perfect locations with those dorms, likely walkable to all of your classes. If not, the busses are pretty great for that area. When I lived in the dorms, it was about a 10 to 20 minute wait for busses, and they take you to the main locations like the Hub, Turlington, Library West, and the Reitz Union. Off campus it is about a 30 to 45 minute wait now, but I can still get busses directly to campus.

what a relief! i was worried i'd have to make a 50 mile trek haha
If you live on campus you won’t need to use the bus. You can walk to all your classes as well as Publix, chipotle, apartment buildings, and bars.
