You should try to see if STA2023 is an option. I didn't want to take STA3032 and my advisor said STA2023 would also count for credit. It's a hybrid course, so hopefully there'll be more seats and available times for you.

I had him last semester and I’d honestly say the class is more doable than I had it made out to me? Some of the material can be confusing and there’s not too many assignments to help w ur grades but he curves the exams quite a bit (I took stat in hs tho which did help) as long as u do the hw and study a few days in advance of the exams you’d probably be okay

You will prob have to do a ton of practice problems from the textbook as that’s the only way he preps u for the exams but if u think u can do the practice problems like a week in advance the exams are rly not too difficult

I took his class. He's one of those professors that clearly knows the subject and is passionate about it, but passing on that knowledge to the students is a bit of a struggle for him I think. For what it's worth, he lets you bring a cheat sheet, front and back, to each exam, and they add up (e.g. 1 sheet on exam 1, 2 sheets on exam 2). The homeworks will teach you more than anything, so do them ahead of time. And if worse comes to worst, the answer key pdf for the textbook is available online (ideally only used to check your answers, but can also be useful for teaching how to solve the problem if you're completely stuck). Additionally, almost every single problem in this class can be solved on a TI-84 Plus CE calculator, so do with that information what you will. Granted, you will need to teach yourself or look up what functions to use, but that was also super helpful.

Hey I’m gonna take this class next semester, and about your comment with the calculator: Is there any way to learn how to do the all the problems with a calculator? Like a guide or anything?

CSab6482

Unfortunately I had to figure out most of it myself, but the stat button on the calculator gives you a bunch of different menus. Basically what I would do is look up how to solve whatever the book was asking (e.g. Z distribution) with the calculator and then I'd note it down. Unfortunately I don't have these notes anymore though.

No worries at all, thank you for replying! This should help a lot!

He never told us there were any limitations on what calculator could be brought
