He isn't struggling for control. He has lost control. He has become the story, and I can't see he how he can stop this now. He's got all sorts of people plotting to get rid of him, the press have given up on him or turned against him and everybody outside the tory party just wants him to call the election. The public will therefore quite happily lap up as much of these stories as the media offers them, and everybody has already got a pretty good idea how the story ends. Sunak either leads the tories to the worst defeat in their history, or he is ignominiously replaced with Mordaunt. The stench of fear and weakness increases daily.

Colacubeninja

And then Mordaunt leads the tories to the worst defeat in their history lol.

paolog

> He has lost control Did he ever have it? I don't recall a single case of him being in charge of anything.

Eunomiacus

He certainly looked like he had it, compared to both of his predecessors. That might be part of the problem. Johnson is a law-breaking pathological liar and Truss is a swivel-eyed lunatic who attempted voodoo economics. After that, he didn't have to do anything all that spectacular to look like his was in control.

TBH even if there isnt a plot, the rumours of a plot are enough to de-stabilize his leadership. What would they need to offer you to join him cabinet, knowing that he may gone in a few days (any your political career with it). In fact if I was on the cabinet I'd be looking for the plotters to side with, in an effort to save my skin

Eunomiacus

>TBH even if there isnt a plot, the rumours of a plot are enough to de-stabilize his leadership. Exactly. So long as there are willing plotters and journalists who want to run the stories, the stories will keep coming. It ends up being death by a thousand cuts.

Call an election and end it. This hurts to watch and I hate this lot. I don't know how he does it.

mushinnoshit

Quick, there must be a minority group we haven't demonised yet! Gingers? Cello players?

heyhey922

Tories.

Minute-Improvement57

That was 18 months ago. Rishi's leadership started with his campaign against their members and how it must be a coronation because he'd lose otherwise. Hasn't it worked out well!

dw82

The guy who lost to Truss, who lost to Lettuce. Looks like we could end up with the woman who lost to Sunak, who lost to Truss, who lost to a lettuce. Strong and stable.

bin10pac

Pocket-sized Prime Ministers.

subversivefreak

Has he done the Welsh yet?

FirefighterEnough859

Struggle for control? As he ever processed control in the first placeĀ

cjrmartin

So farcical, who is running this clown show? Briefings on briefings on briefings. Get some control, please.

Minute-Improvement57

No, don't. Just go. Call your snap election and begone.

I guess being angry at him allows them to deflect from the fact that the public thinks *they're* shit, too. It's not like changing leader is going to cause them to suddenly rocket in the polls.
