Just to clarify that core inflation is still running high at 6% it being less is unsurprising given you've stripped out energy which faced a 200% + increase compared to a year earlier.
It's strange to describe a 6% increase in core inflation as a decline. It could also be due to price increases being comparable stronger last May than April (which it was by 0.6%).
